Punta Gorda (PGD) Airport Car Service

Punta Gorda Airport sits just east of downtown Punta Gorda, on the eastern edge of Charlotte Harbor. It looks like a small, easygoing airport, and in many ways it still is. But over the past decade Allegiant Air has turned PGD into one of the fastest-growing leisure airports in the country, with non-stops to more than 50 cities in the Northeast and Midwest. Pittsburgh. Cincinnati. Columbus. Allentown. Rochester. Chances are, if you live north of the Mason-Dixon line and own a place in Southwest Florida, you've flown in here at least once.

That growth is the reason we set up shop here. Union Limousine runs chauffeured Florida airport car service across the state, and PGD is one of the airports we know best. The rideshare app at PGD can be hit-or-miss on off-schedule days, and the line at the curb gets long fast when two Allegiant flights land back-to-back. Pre-booking with us is just the easier choice. Same driver each season, the same fixed rate every time, and a name sign waiting at the curb when you walk out of baggage claim.

Reliable Transportation to and from PGD

Allegiant runs PGD on a concentrated schedule, which means most days the airport feels relaxed and a few days it feels like a stadium. We watch your flight in real time, so even if you take a ground hold over Tampa, your driver is already in position when you actually land. No waiting in the rideshare queue, no surprise pricing, no driver canceling at the curb.

If you fly in regularly for the season, we can set you up with the same chauffeur for every trip. A lot of our snowbird clients have been using the same driver for years now. They know exactly which gate code to use at Punta Gorda Isles, which side of the building at Babcock Ranch, and how to get into Boca Grande without crossing the causeway during the Friday afternoon rush.

Why Choose Our PGD Car Service

Honestly, the reason most people switch from rideshare to us comes down to predictability. With us, your ride is confirmed before your flight even pushes back from the gate up north. The driver is named. The rate is locked. The vehicle is clean and the chauffeur is in uniform.

  • Fixed pricing — what you book is what you pay, no surge, no surprise tolls, no airport fees added on at the curb.
  • Flight tracking — we adjust pickup automatically if Allegiant runs early, late, or hits weather over Florida.
  • Real local drivers — chauffeurs who know Charlotte County, the Boca Grande Causeway, and the back roads through North Port.
  • 24/7 dispatch — even when an Allegiant flight slips to a 1 AM arrival, we're answering the phone.
  • Vehicles built for the trip — full luggage capacity for snowbird arrivals with golf clubs, fishing rods, and three-month suitcases.

And because we run on fixed quotes, the cost of a Sprinter van for a family of six is often less than the combined cost of two rideshares plus surge — and you all travel together.

Our Fleet Options

We match the vehicle to the trip, not the other way around. Here's what we run out of PGD:

  • Executive sedans (Mercedes E-Class, BMW 5 Series, Cadillac XTS) — solo arrivals, business visits to Babcock Ranch, couples checking into the Wyvern Hotel.
  • Luxury SUVs (Cadillac Escalade, Lincoln Navigator, GMC Yukon XL) — couples and small families with full seasonal luggage, golf clubs, and Boca Grande gear.
  • Mercedes-Benz Sprinter vans — Allegiant group arrivals, multi-family reunions, and Sunseeker Resort wedding parties of 7 to 14.
  • Stretch limousines — Boca Grande and Gasparilla Inn celebrations, Punta Gorda destination weddings, milestone birthdays.

Popular Routes and Nearby Areas We Serve

Most of our PGD work falls into a handful of routes. Here's what we drive most days, with rough times in normal traffic:

  • Downtown Punta Gorda, Fishermen's Village, Harborwalk, and the Wyvern Hotel — about 10 minutes.
  • Port Charlotte, Sunseeker Resort, and the Murdock corridor — about 15 minutes.
  • North Port, West Villages, and Wellen Park — about 20 minutes.
  • Englewood Beach and Manasota Key — about 30 minutes.
  • Babcock Ranch — about 30 minutes via Babcock Ranch Road.
  • Boca Grande and Gasparilla Island, including the Gasparilla Inn & Club — about 55 to 70 minutes via the Boca Grande Causeway (toll).
  • Venice Island and Nokomis — about 35 minutes via I-75.
  • Sarasota and Siesta Key — about 50 minutes via I-75 North.
  • Fort Myers and the RSW airport corridor — about 45 minutes via I-75 South.
  • Naples, Bonita Springs, and Marco Island — long-haul transfers in the 70 to 90 minute range.

Boca Grande is the route most rideshare drivers won't run, and it's one we know inside out. The causeway, the gate at the Inn, the marina drop for tarpon charters in May and June — all routine for us, all part of the airport car service we built around how Charlotte County actually moves.

Book Your Ride to and from PGD

Booking with Union Limousine takes a few minutes. Tell us your flight number, where you're going, and how many people are traveling. We'll send back a confirmation with your driver's name, the vehicle assigned to you, and the exact fare. Pay after the trip if you prefer, or set up a corporate account if you fly in often.

During peak season — roughly November through April — we'd suggest booking 48 to 72 hours ahead. For Boca Grande tarpon weekends, Sunseeker wedding parties, or any time you've got a Sprinter-sized group, the earlier the better. Vehicles do sell out, especially on Allegiant peak-arrival days.

Frequently Asked Questions

About 3 miles east of downtown via Airport Road and US-41. Most rides take 10 to 12 minutes in normal traffic. Of any commercial airport in Southwest Florida, this is probably the shortest hop into a real downtown, and we run it daily for guests checking into the Wyvern, Fishermen's Village, and the Punta Gorda Isles.

Yes, and it's one of our most popular routes. PGD to Boca Grande runs roughly 40 miles via SR-776, CR-775, and the Boca Grande Causeway. Plan on 55 to 70 minutes depending on the time of day. We serve the Gasparilla Inn & Club, The Innlet, and private island residences year-round, including tarpon season and the World's Richest Tarpon Tournament week.

If you're heading to Charlotte County, Englewood, North Port, or Boca Grande, PGD is usually the smarter choice — closer, faster baggage, less traffic out of the airport. For Naples, Marco Island, and Sanibel, RSW is generally closer. A lot of our clients use PGD for the Allegiant fares and let us handle the 45-minute hop down to the Naples or Bonita Springs area.

Yes. The resort is about 8 miles from PGD — roughly 15 minutes via US-41. We run individual guest transfers, Allegiant cross-promotion arrivals, wedding parties, and corporate retreat groups. For larger parties arriving on the same Allegiant flight, our Sprinter vans handle the whole group in one vehicle.

Yes. PGD to Naples is about 75 miles via I-75 South, usually 80 to 90 minutes. PGD to Sarasota or Siesta Key is closer to 50 minutes via I-75 North. These are common requests from seasonal residents who book PGD for the Allegiant pricing and want a comfortable car the rest of the way.

Yes. Even on non-standard Allegiant days. Your driver is confirmed by name before your flight departs, dispatch monitors your flight in real time, and we don't cancel at the curb. Given how thin rideshare gets at PGD after dark, pre-booking is the reliable way to know your transfer is going to happen.
