What we offer

Waterbury Oxford (OXC) Airport Charter Bus Service

From Atlantic Aviation at OXC to Waterbury, Southbury, Danbury or Hartford: one coach, one driver, and one confirmed price. Waterbury Oxford Airport group transport for parties of 14 to 56 passengers.

Charter Bus Rental Service to and from Waterbury Oxford (OXC) Airport

A charter jet touches down on runway 18/36 in Oxford, and within minutes a delegation of thirty is standing in the Atlantic Aviation lounge asking where the bus is. Union Limousine answers that question before the flight departs. Our Waterbury Oxford (OXC) Airport charter bus rental service stages chauffeured motorcoaches, mini coaches, and Sprinter vans at the FBO curb ahead of the scheduled arrival, so corporate teams, wedding parties, and touring groups flying into New Haven County walk out of the terminal and straight into their seats. The same Connecticut airport charter bus rental program covers every field in the state, from the busiest commercial hubs to the quietest general aviation strips, with a single dispatch desk tracking each tail number.

Why Groups Flying Into OXC Book a Chauffeured Coach?

Waterbury Oxford Airport has no airline concourse, no taxi rank, and no shuttle loop. It is a private and corporate aviation field, which means every group arriving here is stepping off a charter or company aircraft with no built in ground transportation waiting outside. A reserved coach fills that gap. Our drivers hold the manifest, meet the aircraft handler at the FBO front door, load luggage from the ramp cart, and depart on a route already mapped to the destination. Compared with sending five or six rideshare cars into a rural airfield with thin driver coverage, one prearranged charter bus service is faster to load, easier to bill, and far simpler for the organizer who has to account for every head.

Corporate flight departments and executive teams

Manufacturers, healthcare systems, and private equity groups with offices along Interstate 84 and Route 8 use OXC because it sits about seven miles southwest of Waterbury and well clear of the congestion around the New York airports. When a company flies a board, a sales force, or a plant leadership team into Oxford, we assign a mini coach or full size coach with onboard Wi Fi and power outlets so the ride to a facility in Cheshire, Watertown, or Shelton doubles as a working session. Flight departments can send us the tail number and estimated arrival, and dispatch adjusts the pickup as the aircraft updates its ETA.

Weddings, reunions, and private celebrations in the Litchfield Hills

Guests flying in for a wedding at a Southbury estate, a barn venue in Woodbury, or a lakeside reception near Lake Quassapaug often arrive at OXC on a chartered aircraft or a friend's plane. A party bus or Sprinter van meets them on the ramp side of the FBO, carries them to the hotel block in Southbury or Waterbury, and returns on the wedding day so nobody is negotiating winding county roads after the reception. For smaller groups we pair the coach with a Waterbury Oxford Airport limo service for the couple or the parents so the whole party moves in coordinated vehicles.

College teams, camps, and touring groups

Athletic programs chartering into Oxford for games at Quinnipiac, Sacred Heart, or the University of Connecticut, along with summer camps and performing arts tours, need a 56 seat coach with underfloor luggage bays for equipment. We stage the coach so it is idling in the FBO lot when the aircraft blocks in, and the same driver stays with the group for the entire itinerary, whether that is a single transfer or a four day swing through Connecticut and western Massachusetts.

Our Fleet for Waterbury Oxford Airport Group Transfers

Every vehicle in the Union Limousine OXC lineup is chauffeur driven, commercially insured, and dispatched from the same operations center that handles our airport work statewide. Capacity guides the choice, and our reservation team will size the vehicle to your headcount and luggage before confirming.

  • Executive sedan, up to 3 passengers: the right fit for a pilot crew going to a hotel, a visiting executive heading to a Waterbury office, or a couple continuing on to a Litchfield County inn.
  • Cadillac Escalade SUV, up to 6 passengers: extra luggage room for families and small leadership groups, with the ground clearance that helps on snowy back roads between Oxford and the hill towns.
  • Escalade ESV stretch limousine, up to 20 passengers: milestone birthdays, bachelor and bachelorette weekends, and wedding parties who want the arrival at OXC to feel like the start of the celebration.
  • Luxury Sprinter van, up to 14 passengers: the workhorse for corporate flight arrivals, with high roof standing room, leather captain's chairs, and space for garment bags and sample cases.
  • Party bus, up to 30 passengers: wraparound seating, sound system, and mood lighting for groups heading from the airport to a casino night, a concert at the Palace, or a wine trail tour.
  • Mini coach bus, up to 35 passengers: forward facing reclining seats and overhead bins for conference delegations, school groups, and mid size team charters.
  • 56 passenger coach bus, up to 56 passengers: full size motorcoach with restroom, underfloor cargo bays, and highway range for tours that begin at OXC and end in Boston, Newport, or New York City.

Groups that need a mix, such as a coach for the delegation and a Waterbury Oxford Airport Sprinter van service for the advance team arriving on a second aircraft, can book both under one reservation with one point of contact.

Service Area Across Connecticut, CT

Oxford sits at the meeting point of three counties, which is exactly why OXC works so well as a group gateway. Waterbury and the Naugatuck Valley are a short drive northeast, Danbury and the Fairfield County corporate belt lie to the southwest, and the Litchfield Hills open up to the north. Our chauffeurs run these roads daily, and our Connecticut charter bus rental coverage reaches every town in the state from this one field.

Naugatuck Valley and Greater Waterbury

The City of Waterbury is the closest urban center to the airport and the usual base for groups attending events downtown or visiting employers in the industrial parks along Route 8. Coaches from OXC reach the Brass Mill area, the Post University campus, and the downtown green in roughly twenty minutes. Concert and Broadway series groups should note that the Palace Theater directs vehicles to the Scovill Street garage behind the venue, so our drivers drop at the East Main Street curb and stage nearby until the curtain falls. Middlebury, Naugatuck, Prospect, and Wolcott are all inside a half hour, and our New Haven County car service supports the smaller transfers that surround a large group move.

Fairfield County and the New York line

Southbury, Newtown, Danbury, and Ridgefield are the first stops for groups heading toward the western side of the state, and many corporate charters into OXC are bound for headquarters in Stamford, Norwalk, or Shelton. A full size coach handles the Interstate 84 to Route 7 run comfortably, and for executives who need a separate vehicle our Fairfield County car service provides sedans and SUVs running parallel to the bus. Groups whose aircraft are diverted or repositioned to Danbury can rely on our Danbury Airport car service to close the gap without rebooking the coach.

Litchfield Hills, Hartford, and the shoreline

North of the airport, the Litchfield Hills draw wedding parties, retreat groups, and foliage tours to Woodbury, Washington, Litchfield, and Kent, and our Litchfield County car service pairs with the coach for scattered guest pickups. Toward the capital, a coach from OXC reaches downtown Hartford in under an hour for conventions and arena events, backed by our Hartford County car service for late arrivals. Groups that split between a private flight into Oxford and a scheduled flight into Windsor Locks can pair this page with our Bradley Airport charter bus rental so both halves converge at the same hotel. Family and youth groups love a day trip to Quassy Amusement and Waterpark in Middlebury, which sits about fifteen minutes from the airport and welcomes coaches with dedicated bus parking and catered pavilions.

How OXC Charter Pricing and Booking Work?

Every Union Limousine quote is built from the vehicle, the hours, and the route, and it is confirmed in writing before your flight departs. We do not surge price when a jet lands early, and we do not add mileage fees for the standard Connecticut service area. Our Connecticut chauffeur service team will walk through the itinerary with you and flag anything that changes the number, such as an overnight or a second pickup.

Flat rate transfers, hourly charters, and multi day itineraries

A point to point transfer from OXC to a single destination is quoted as a flat rate. Wedding shuttles, conference loops, and tour days are quoted hourly with a minimum that depends on the vehicle. Multi day charters that keep a coach and driver with the group are priced per day and include the driver's lodging when the itinerary requires it.

What is included in every OXC coach reservation?

Fuel, the chauffeur, standard tolls inside Connecticut, ramp side meet and greet at the FBO, luggage handling, and bottled water on board are all part of the base quote. Wi Fi and power are standard on the Sprinter, mini coach, and full size coach.

Wait time and flight tracking

Because private flights change their arrival times often, we track the aircraft and adjust the pickup at no charge for delays caused by the flight. Sixty minutes of wait time is built into every airport pickup, which covers customs clearance for international arrivals using the on site CBP facility.

Gratuity, parking fees, and out of state tolls

Gratuity is at your discretion and is itemized on the invoice if you prefer to prepay it. Venue parking fees, such as the per bus charge at some amusement parks and stadiums, and tolls outside Connecticut are passed through at cost.

Waterbury Oxford (OXC) Airport Information

Understanding how this airport operates is the key to a smooth group arrival, because it behaves nothing like a commercial terminal. Here is what your organizer, your pilot, and your passengers should know.

  • Airport name: Waterbury Oxford Airport
  • Airport code: OXC (ICAO KOXC)
  • Address: 300 Christian St, Oxford, CT 06478, United States
  • Phone: +1 203 264 8010
  • Official website: ctairports.org Waterbury Oxford page

History and importance of the airport

The land under the runway was farmland until the mid 1960s, when a private pilot turned his flying hobby into a business and later sold the field to the State of Connecticut. It opened for public use on December 15, 1969, and grew steadily as corporate aviation moved out of the crowded New York metro fields. On July 1, 2013, the FAA approved the transfer of the state's six airports, including Oxford, from the Connecticut Department of Transportation to the Connecticut Airport Authority, which runs it today. The airport now holds the highest concentration of general aviation activity in the state and the largest count of based aircraft at any single general aviation field in Connecticut. The FAA classifies it as a National general aviation airport, and the state has designated an Airport Development Zone around it to attract aviation and manufacturing employers.

Airlines operating from OXC

There are no scheduled passenger airlines at Waterbury Oxford Airport. The field serves corporate, business, charter, and recreational flying. Charter operators and aircraft management companies based on the airport, including Clay Lacy Aviation, fly on demand jet and turboprop trips, and visiting aircraft from across North America use the FBO daily. Groups that want a scheduled airline option pair OXC with Bradley International in Windsor Locks or Tweed New Haven on the shoreline, both served by our Tweed New Haven Airport car service and Bradley transfer teams.

Domestic destinations

Because every flight is private or chartered, the destination list is whatever the aircraft operator files. Common city pairs from Oxford include Florida business centers, Washington, Chicago, Atlanta, and the Carolinas, along with short hops to Nantucket, Martha's Vineyard, and Bar Harbor in summer. The 5,800 foot runway supports most light and midsize business jets, and the on site customs facility means international arrivals from Canada, the Caribbean, and Europe can clear here without stopping at a larger gateway.

Terminal information

There is no public terminal in the airline sense. Passengers use the fixed base operator lounges. Atlantic Aviation, at 288 Christian Street, operates the primary FBO with a passenger lounge, crew facilities, hangars, fueling, and concierge service, and in 2022 it opened a purpose built 4,000 square foot U.S. Customs and Border Protection facility with briefing rooms and interview space. Other tenants include Clay Lacy Aviation for aircraft management, maintenance, and charter, an aircraft interiors shop, a flight school, and the Connecticut Wing of the Civil Air Patrol. The airport covers 424 acres at an elevation of 730 feet, with a full parallel taxiway, an instrument landing system, and an FAA contract control tower staffed from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily.

Passenger traffic

OXC does not publish airline passenger counts because it has none. Activity is measured in aircraft operations and based aircraft: the field has recorded over 45,000 annual takeoffs and landings and is home to roughly 250 based aircraft, including a large fleet of corporate jets. Peak group arrivals cluster around Monday mornings and Thursday and Friday afternoons for business travel, and around Friday evenings for weekend social charters, so we recommend booking coaches for those windows at least a week ahead.

Parking overview

Vehicle parking is in surface lots beside the FBO buildings on Christian Street. There is no parking garage, no shuttle lot, and no metered short term area, and spaces are intended for passengers, crews, and tenants. Coaches and minibuses cannot idle in the FBO lot for long stretches, so our drivers stage on the airport access road or at a nearby commercial lot and roll up when the aircraft is on the ground.

Pickup and drop off guidance

All pickups happen at the front entrance of the FBO the aircraft is parked at, which for most group flights is Atlantic Aviation. Give your operator the FBO name when you file the trip so the handler and our driver are working from the same location. On departure days, we drop at the FBO door where the line crew moves luggage directly to the aircraft. Our chauffeurs carry a name board, coordinate with the FBO front desk, and confirm the passenger count against your manifest before pulling away.

Ground transportation options

Enterprise Rent a Car keeps a counter on the field by reservation, and the FBO can arrange a taxi with advance notice. No CTtransit bus route serves Christian Street, and the nearest rail is the Metro North Waterbury Branch, which is running substitute buses in place of all trains from July 20, 2026 through May 31, 2027 while the line is rebuilt, which makes rail an impractical choice for groups with luggage. Rideshare coverage in Oxford is thin at night and on weekends. For anything above a handful of passengers, a prebooked coach or Sprinter van is the only option that guarantees a vehicle will actually be there.

Tips for arriving passengers

  • Confirm which FBO your aircraft is using and share it with your transportation provider at booking.
  • International arrivals should have passports ready for the on site CBP officers, whose hours run midday into the evening, and should build clearance time into the ground schedule.
  • Cell coverage on the ramp is good, but the lounge Wi Fi is the reliable way to reach your driver if your carrier drops.
  • Winter arrivals should expect snow on the access road; our SUVs and coaches are equipped for it, and drivers allow extra staging time.
  • The airport is quiet after 9 p.m. when the tower closes, so late night groups should confirm the FBO's after hours arrangements in advance.

Why a prebooked chauffeur beats taxis and rideshare at OXC?

At a rural general aviation field, the difference between a reserved vehicle and an app request is the difference between leaving in five minutes and waiting forty five. Taxis must be called ahead, rideshare drivers rarely sit in Oxford, and neither can seat a group of twenty with luggage. A prebooked chauffeur is tracking your tail number, parked at the FBO before wheels down, and covered by commercial insurance suited to corporate travel policies. For the same reason, many flight departments that use our Waterbury Oxford Airport car service for executives also keep a standing coach arrangement for larger visiting teams.

Seven days is ideal for a full size coach or mini coach, and 48 hours works for a Sprinter van or SUV in most seasons. Holiday weekends and foliage season in the Litchfield Hills fill earlier, so book as soon as the flight is scheduled.

At the front entrance of the FBO where the aircraft parks, most often Atlantic Aviation at 288 Christian Street. The chauffeur checks in with the front desk and waits with a name board in the lounge.

Yes for loading and unloading. Long term staging in the lot is not permitted, so the driver waits on the access road or a nearby commercial lot and pulls up once the aircraft is on the ground.

We track the tail number through the aircraft's flight plan and adjust the pickup as the ETA changes. Delays caused by the flight do not add wait charges, and sixty minutes of standby is included.

Atlantic Aviation operates an on site U.S. Customs and Border Protection facility that opened in 2022. Arriving groups clear there, and our coach waits outside until every passenger is released.

Roughly twenty minutes in normal traffic via Route 67 and Route 8. Hartford is under an hour, Danbury about thirty five minutes, and New Haven about forty five minutes depending on the time of day.

The vehicle, the chauffeur, fuel, standard Connecticut tolls, luggage handling, and bottled water. Venue parking fees and tolls outside the state are passed through at cost and shown on the invoice.

Yes. The coach and driver stay with your group for the full trip, whether that is a two day conference in Hartford or a week of games across New England, with the driver's lodging handled by us.

The Sprinter van, mini coach, and 56 passenger coach all carry onboard Wi Fi and power at every row, which lets corporate groups continue working between the airport and their meetings.

Yes. Pickups run around the clock. Because the airport is quiet after 9 p.m., we confirm the FBO's after hours access plan with your flight department and position the vehicle before the scheduled landing.
