Adak (ADK) Airport Limo Service
Fishing crews, caribou hunters and Navy veterans returning to Adak Island choose our Adak (ADK) Airport Limo Service for fixed pricing, 14 seat Sprinters and coaches fit for a full team in Alaska, AK.

Stretch Limo Service to and from Adak (ADK) Airport
Only two jets a week touch down on Adak Island, and each one carries the people, the mail and the groceries that keep the westernmost community in the United States running. When your name is on one of those manifests, a chauffeur waiting at the terminal is the difference between a calm start and a scramble. We built our Alaska airport limo service for exactly this kind of arrival, where the plane cannot be missed and the ground plan has to work the first time.
Adak sits roughly 1,200 miles southwest of Anchorage, in the Andreanof Islands at the heart of the Aleutian chain. There is no road to anywhere else, no taxi stand, no rideshare app that answers, and the weather earns the island its nickname as the birthplace of the winds. Our Alaska limo service treats Adak as a destination that deserves the same polished chauffeur standard we bring to Anchorage, with vehicles chosen for gear, groups and gusts.
Why Travelers Book a Private Chauffeur for the Adak Flight?
Union Limousine coordinates every Adak pickup against the live Alaska Airlines status board, because a flight that leaves Anchorage on schedule can still divert or turn back when fog closes the approach. Your chauffeur watches the inbound, repositions as needed and meets you once the jet is on the ground. You pay a fixed quote agreed in advance, so a weather delay never becomes a surprise on the invoice.
Built Around a Twice Weekly Jet Schedule
With service limited to Wednesdays and Saturdays, the terminal fills in a short burst and empties just as fast. We stage vehicles before the aircraft taxis in, load bags and totes at the curb, and move you toward Finger Bay, the harbor or the old downtown housing blocks while others are still waiting for a ride. Departing passengers get a timed pickup that puts them at TSA screening with room to spare and no risk of watching the only flight of the week leave without them.

History and Importance of Adak Airport
The runway at Adak began life in August 1942 as Adak Army Airfield, a forward base that let American bombers reach Japanese positions on Kiska and Attu during the Aleutian Campaign. The Air Force held the field after the war, then the Navy took over in 1950 and grew it into a Cold War submarine surveillance station that housed over 6,000 sailors, Coast Guard members and their families at its peak. The military mission ended on March 31, 1997, and in 2004 roughly 41,700 acres passed to The Aleut Corporation, with much of the rest becoming national wildlife refuge land. Many Navy veterans return today to walk the housing areas, the chapel and the shoreline they remember, and the airfield they land on is now recognized as a National Historic Landmark.
Today the airport is owned by the State of Alaska and run through the Department of Transportation and Public Facilities. Two asphalt runways of 7,790 and 7,605 feet, an instrument landing system and a glideslope make it the largest and best equipped airfield on the Aleutian chain. That capacity supports Boeing 737 jets, cargo charters serving the seafood industry, military exercises and refueling stops, which is why the Port of Adak promotes the field as a future international logistics hub.
Airlines Operating from ADK
Alaska Airlines is the only scheduled passenger carrier, flying a Boeing 737 between Anchorage and Adak twice a week under a federal rural air subsidy. The aircraft usually operates as a combination passenger and freight flight, so the same jet brings fresh produce, medicine and spare parts to the island. Seats fill well ahead of hunting season and crew change weeks, so travelers should compare dates for flights from Anchorage to Adak early and lock in both legs at once. Charter operators and cargo carriers use the field on an irregular basis.
Domestic Destinations
Ted Stevens Anchorage International Airport (ANC) is the single scheduled destination, with the nonstop flight taking about two hours and fifty minutes and arriving at the South Terminal. From Anchorage, passengers connect onward to Seattle, Fairbanks, Kodiak, Juneau and the rest of the Alaska Airlines network. In recent years some rotations have added a stop at Cold Bay, and charter flights occasionally link Adak with Dutch Harbor and Eareckson Air Station on Shemya.
Terminal Information
Adak has one compact passenger terminal that opens around flight operations. Inside you will find the Alaska Airlines counter, a TSA screening checkpoint, a modest waiting room and a baggage area where freight and luggage are offloaded together. There are no lounges, jet bridges or concession stands, and the building is generally closed on days without a scheduled jet. Airport staff attend the field Tuesday through Saturday during business hours, and from October through April unscheduled aircraft need advance permission to land.
Passenger Traffic
Adak records a few thousand passenger movements each year, nearly all of them on the Anchorage route, which makes it one of the quietest jet airports in the country. Volume spikes in late summer and early fall when caribou hunters arrive, during fishing fleet crew changes, and whenever a construction or environmental cleanup project brings a team to the island. Because every seat on a twice weekly flight is accounted for, a single full jet can represent a noticeable share of the month's traffic.
Parking Overview
Parking is informal and free, with a gravel and paved apron beside the terminal where residents leave trucks between flights. There are no gates, pay stations or long term lots, and vehicles stay exposed to salt air and wind for the week or two between trips. Visitors rarely need a private car on the island, and most arrange a chauffeur or a local vehicle rental ahead of time.
Pick Up and Drop Off Guidance
The curb outside the terminal doors is the only pickup point, and on flight days it fills quickly with pickups, forklifts moving freight and families greeting relatives. Your chauffeur will text a vehicle description before the jet lands and wait at the terminal entrance so you can load directly from the baggage area. For departures we recommend arriving ninety minutes before the scheduled time, since the single TSA lane processes the entire flight at once.
Ground Transportation Options
Adak has no taxi company, no rideshare drivers, no shuttle route and no public transit of any kind. A handful of local businesses rent trucks by prior arrangement, and lodges sometimes collect their own guests. For everyone else, a pre arranged Adak airport car service is the only reliable way to move people and gear between the terminal, the harbor, lodging and hunting access points. We confirm every reservation in writing and reconfirm again once the aircraft departs Anchorage.
Tips for Arriving Passengers
- Pack a day bag with rain gear, warm layers and medications in case fog delays your return flight by several days
- Great Sitkin, an active volcano 26 miles east, has erupted lava since 2021; follow the Alaska Volcano Observatory before you fly and keep up with wider volcano monitoring research if ash advisories are issued
- Bring cash and card; the island has one general store and limited banking
- Buy fishing and hunting licenses online before arrival, since there is no license vendor at the terminal
- Expect wind gusts well above 50 miles per hour on the apron and hold onto hats, documents and light bags
- Share your lodge name and cell number when booking so we can reach you if the flight diverts to Cold Bay
Why a Pre Booked Chauffeur Beats Waiting at the Curb?
On most airports a taxi line is a backup plan. On Adak there is no line to fall back on, so a confirmed chauffeur is the plan itself. Our Alaska airport chauffeur service assigns a professional who already knows the terminal layout, the freight schedule and the road to Finger Bay, and who has room for the totes and coolers that would never fit in a borrowed pickup. You get a written quote, flight tracking, a warm vehicle idling at the door and someone accountable if plans change at the last minute.
Local Areas and Nearby Airports We Connect
Our Adak chauffeurs cover the full drivable footprint of the island, from the terminal to Kuluk Bay, Sweeper Cove, the small boat harbor, the seafood plant and the housing areas that once served the naval station. We also support travelers who combine Adak with other stops along the chain, including the Dutch Harbor airport limo service 350 miles to the east, Cold Bay on the Alaska Peninsula and the Anchorage hub that every Adak itinerary passes through.
Adak Island Landmarks
Mount Moffett rises above the airfield on the north end of the island, while Clam Lagoon and Andrew Lake draw birders hoping to spot whiskered auklets and rare Asian strays. The tiny stand of pines planted by servicemen, known locally as Adak National Forest, remains one of the most photographed spots on the island. Caribou introduced in the 1950s now roam freely, which is why hunting groups make up a large part of our autumn bookings.
Kuluk Bay and the Harbor District
The harbor side of town is where crews board vessels, where the seafood plant receives catch and where the Port of Adak fuel dock keeps the Bering Sea fleet moving. We run frequent transfers between the terminal and the docks on crew change days, with Sprinter vans and mini coaches sized for a full vessel complement and their sea bags.
Booking Note for Hunting and Fishing Groups
Tell us how many rifle cases, coolers and rod tubes are coming with you. We will assign a vehicle with the right cargo space and schedule a second run if a single trip cannot carry everything, so no gear is left waiting at the terminal.
Reserve Your Adak Airport Chauffeur Before the Jet Leaves Anchorage
Flights to Adak sell out, the terminal closes between arrivals and the weather sets its own schedule, so the ground plan belongs at the top of your checklist. Book your limo service with Union Limousine as soon as your Alaska Airlines confirmation arrives, and we will match a chauffeur and vehicle to your flight number, party size and gear list. Call, message or complete the online form with your travel dates, and a coordinator will return a fixed quote within the hour. Union Limousine then tracks your flight from Anchorage, confirms the pickup once the jet is airborne and stands by at the curb when the doors open.
