BFM (Mobile Downtown Airport, formerly Brookley Aeroplex, also branded as Mobile International Airport for the planned commercial service expansion at the downtown facility) sits on Mobile Bay in Mobile, Alabama about 3 miles south of downtown Mobile, accessible via Interstate 10 and US 90. The airport is owned and operated by the Mobile Airport Authority. Commercial service is shifting from MOB (Mobile Regional Airport on the inland west side) to BFM in phases, with the planned consolidation positioning BFM as Mobile's primary commercial airport.
