What we offer

Capital City (CXY) Airport Charter Bus Service

Built for corporate flight departments and delegations, our CXY airport charter buses track private jet arrivals, stage beside the FBO, and hold up to 56 riders across central Pennsylvania and beyond.

Charter Bus Rental Service to and from Capital City (CXY) Airport

Capital City (CXY) Airport sits in Fairview Township on the York County side of the Susquehanna River, and it handles a steady flow of corporate jets, charter aircraft, and private flights bound for the Harrisburg region. When a full cabin of passengers steps onto the ramp, the group needs one coordinated ride. Union Limousine operates Pennsylvania airport charter bus rental service for exactly those moments, with professional drivers, spotless coaches, and trip plans that follow your flight from touchdown to the final stop.

We handle legislative delegations visiting the State Capitol, executive teams touring facilities along the Interstate 83 corridor, athletes arriving for tournaments, and wedding guests heading to venues in Cumberland, Dauphin, and York counties. Every reservation includes a dedicated trip coordinator, arrival monitoring, and a vehicle sized for your headcount and luggage.

Group Transportation Planned Around CXY Arrivals

General aviation travel runs on its own clock. Departures shift with weather, fuel stops, and client meetings, so a fixed shuttle timetable rarely fits. Our dispatch team follows your tail number or charter itinerary and adjusts the driver's arrival when your aircraft lands early or late. The vehicle waits near the SkyPort Aviation executive terminal, your group boards together, and nobody stands outside calling for separate rides.

Groups We Move from Capital City Airport

  • Corporate flight departments bringing executives and clients for site visits, board meetings, and plant tours across central Pennsylvania.
  • Government and advocacy delegations with appointments at the Pennsylvania State Capitol and agency offices in downtown Harrisburg.
  • Aviation associations and flying clubs hosting fly ins, which the airport welcomes through its convention program.
  • College and amateur sports teams traveling to tournaments in Hershey, Carlisle, and York.
  • Wedding parties and family reunions arriving on private charters for celebrations at estates, wineries, and West Shore hotels.
  • Tour groups linking Gettysburg battlefields, Lancaster County farmland, and Hershey attractions in a single itinerary.

Our Fleet for Capital City Airport Group Travel

Union Limousine keeps seven vehicle classes ready for CXY arrivals. Each one comes licensed, insured, and driven by a chauffeur who knows the roads linking New Cumberland, Harrisburg, and the surrounding counties.

Small Party Vehicles

Executive Sedans: 1 to 3 Passengers

A sedan suits a solo executive or a pair of pilots heading to a hotel after a long leg. Common uses include direct transfers to Capitol meetings, overnight crew runs, and quiet rides for a VIP who flew in alone.

Luxury SUVs: 4 to 6 Passengers

SUVs carry small leadership teams along with golf bags or trade show cases. They handle winter roads on the West Shore with confidence and work well for family arrivals, client dinners, and quick connections to an airline flight across the river.

Stretch Limousines: 8 to 20 Passengers

Stretch limousines bring a celebratory feel to wedding parties, anniversary groups, and milestone birthday trips arriving by private aircraft. Lounge seating keeps everyone together for photos and toasts on the way to the venue.

Midsize Group Vehicles

Sprinter Vans: 7 to 14 Passengers

Sprinter vans offer standing headroom, rear luggage space, and USB charging. They fit executive roadshows, film and survey crews on multiday assignments, and wedding shuttles that loop between hotels and ceremony sites.

Party Buses: 15 to 30 Passengers

Party buses add perimeter seating, premium sound, and LED lighting for bachelor and bachelorette weekends, winery tours in York County, and concert nights at the Giant Center in Hershey.

Charter Coach Options

Mini Charter Buses: 20 to 35 Passengers

Mini coaches balance capacity with maneuverability. They reach narrow downtown Harrisburg streets and smaller venue lots with ease, serving conference groups, church outings, and school sports squads.

Full Size Charter Buses: 36 to 56 Passengers

Full size motorcoaches move entire departments, marching bands, and association attendees in one trip. Underfloor bays hold luggage, equipment cases, and display materials for shows at the Pennsylvania Farm Show Complex.

Comfort Features on Our Charter Coaches

  • Reclining seats with armrests and generous legroom
  • Climate control and tinted panoramic windows
  • Onboard restrooms on full size coaches
  • Wi Fi and power outlets on select vehicles
  • PA systems for tour guides and meeting leaders
  • ADA accessible vehicles on request with advance notice

Luggage Tip for Private Aviation Groups

Share your bag count and any oversized items, such as golf clubs or camera cases, when you book. We match bay space to your manifest so nothing stays behind on the ramp.

Charter Bus Routes from CXY Across Central Pennsylvania

Capital City Airport places your group about five miles from the Capitol Building and downtown Harrisburg, with fast highway access in every direction. When part of your party arrives on an airline flight, we coordinate pickups with our Harrisburg International (MDT) Airport charter bus team across the river so both groups meet at the same destination. History groups often schedule National Civil War Museum group tours at Reservoir Park, where the museum offers ample bus parking and admits drivers at no charge. Car enthusiasts heading west rely on our coaches for Carlisle Events car shows at the Carlisle Fairgrounds, home of some of the largest collector car gatherings in the country.

Popular Destinations for CXY Charter Groups

  • Downtown Harrisburg, the State Capitol Complex, and City Island
  • Hershey resorts, the Giant Center, and nearby entertainment venues
  • Gettysburg National Military Park and historic downtown Gettysburg
  • Lancaster County farmland, theaters, and outlet shopping
  • Corporate campuses and event halls in York, Hanover, and Lebanon
  • West Shore hotels in Camp Hill, Lemoyne, and Mechanicsburg

Coverage Beyond the Capital Region

Our reach extends well past New Cumberland. Groups can book Pennsylvania charter bus service for conventions in Philadelphia, stadium trips to Pittsburgh, and ski weekends in the Poconos. York County borders the state line, so we also arrange Maryland airport charter bus service when a return flight departs from Baltimore.

History and Importance of the Airport

Local business leaders financed the field through a public stock sale, and it was dedicated on August 16, 1930 as Harrisburg State Airport. Charles Lindbergh flew in that October as a technical adviser for TWA, the airline soon began mail and passenger service, and by April 1931 it offered 24 hour coast to coast travel through Harrisburg. The Commonwealth bought the airport in 1936, enlarged it with Works Progress Administration funding, and renamed it Harrisburg York State Airport. The official Capital City Airport history page covers its World War II squadron and Air Guard roots.

Today the Susquehanna Area Regional Airport Authority owns and operates CXY as the designated reliever and sister airport of Harrisburg International. It serves as home field for the Pennsylvania Bureau of Aviation and Pennsylvania State Police aviation, and PennDOT credits the airport with $58.7 million in economic impact for Dauphin, Cumberland, and York counties.

Airlines Operating from CXY

Capital City Airport has no scheduled commercial airline service. Activity comes from corporate jets, charter operators, flight schools, and privately owned aircraft. Travelers holding airline tickets use Harrisburg International Airport a few miles east, where Allegiant, American, Delta, and United operate.

Domestic Destinations

With no scheduled flights, destinations depend on each charter or private trip. Business aircraft regularly connect New Cumberland with corporate centers along the East Coast and across the Midwest, and the 5,000 foot main runway handles a wide range of turboprops and light business jets. Our drivers work with any origin once you share your tail number or charter operator.

Terminal Information

Passengers use the SkyPort Aviation executive terminal, set in a historic building a few feet from the ramp. Amenities include a lounge, two conference rooms, a business center, Wi Fi, crew sleep rooms, and showers, and staff meet arriving aircraft planeside. SkyPort hours run 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. on weekdays and 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. on weekends, with after hours service available on request for a fee.

Passenger and Aircraft Traffic

FAA data shows 27,348 aircraft operations in the twelve months ending May 2023, with 97 aircraft based on the field. An FAA staffed control tower operates from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m., Runway 8 has an ILS precision approach for poor weather, and the 273 acre airfield adds a second runway of 3,778 feet. Booking systems may show the airport as HAR, so share both codes with your flight department.

Parking Overview

Parking is simple compared with a commercial hub. Visitors and crews use the lots beside the executive terminal, and aircraft park on the ramp, at tiedowns, or in heated hangars. Full size coaches need a planned staging spot, so our dispatch team confirms vehicle placement with the FBO before your arrival.

Pickup and Drop Off Guidance

The airport entrance is on Airport Road in New Cumberland. For departures, we drop your group at the SkyPort terminal door and help unload bags. For arrivals, your driver checks in with SkyPort staff, confirms your arrival time, and positions the vehicle where the line crew directs. With FBO approval, cars and limousines can pull up beside the aircraft, which keeps VIP transfers private.

Ground Transportation Options

  • Prebooked chauffeured sedans, SUVs, Sprinter vans, party buses, and charter coaches
  • Rental cars arranged through SkyPort Aviation
  • FBO crew cars for pilots, limited to one hour
  • Taxis and rideshare, which you must call for, with no taxi rank on site

Tips for Arriving Passengers

  • Send your tail number, charter operator, and passenger count when you book so we can follow schedule changes.
  • Expect some booking tools to list the field under the IATA code HAR.
  • The tower closes at 9 p.m., so confirm after hours FBO service for late evening arrivals.
  • Pack warm layers from November through March, since ramp walks along the river can be cold and windy.
  • Save your trip coordinator's number in case a fuel stop shifts your landing time.

Why a Prebooked Chauffeur Service Is Often More Convenient?

Taxis and rideshare drivers seldom wait near a general aviation field, so a group may sit in the lobby for a long stretch and then split across several cars. A prebooked chauffeur is already on site, understands FBO procedures, loads every bag in one place, and honors a fixed quote with no surge pricing. For groups of ten or more, one coach also keeps everyone on the same schedule and arriving together.

Why Groups Choose Union Limousine for CXY Charters?

  • Experience since 1997 moving executives, delegations, and event guests
  • Arrival monitoring for private and charter flights
  • Clear, all inclusive quotes before you commit
  • Drivers trained in FBO ramp safety and etiquette
  • Dispatch available around the clock with a single point of contact

As a full charter bus rental company, we also coordinate multiday itineraries, standby vehicles, and return transfers, and our wider chauffeured transportation services cover smaller vehicles when your group splits up after the event.
