University Park (SCE) Airport Charter Bus Service
Planning group travel through State College? Pick a sedan, Sprinter van, party bus, or 56 seat coach with flight tracking, local chauffeurs, and one clear quote covering each SCE arrival or departure.

Charter Bus Rental Service to and from University Park (SCE) Airport
Flying into Happy Valley with a team, a wedding party, or a conference delegation calls for one coordinated ride from the gate to State College. Union Limousine runs Pennsylvania airport charter bus service at State College Regional Airport, the field many travelers still call University Park (SCE) Airport, with chauffeurs who follow your flight and have the coach ready when the last bag reaches the carousel.
Our University Park (SCE) Airport charter bus rental service covers every group size, from a sedan for three executives to a 56 passenger coach for a marching band. We plan each route around Penn State schedules, Interstate 99 traffic, and the compact curb at the terminal, which keeps your group moving on football weekends, move in days, and commencement.
Group Charter Travel Built Around State College Regional Airport
SCE is a small terminal with a busy weekend calendar. Visiting teams arrive on United Express regional jets, alumni connect through Philadelphia on American Eagle, and corporate groups land for meetings at the Penn Stater Hotel and Conference Center. We match each arrival with the right vehicle and a written pickup plan, so the ride to campus, Boalsburg, or Bellefonte takes about fifteen to twenty minutes with zero guesswork.
Who Books Our SCE Charter Coaches?
- Visiting athletic programs and equipment staff heading to Penn State venues
- Wedding parties moving guests between SCE, hotels, and ceremony sites across Centre County
- Corporate and research teams attending conferences at the Nittany Lion Inn or the Penn Stater
- Alumni clubs and tailgate crews arriving for home football weekends
- Student organizations, church groups, and school trips touring central Pennsylvania
- Families traveling together for graduation, parents weekend, and campus visits

Where Our Coaches Travel From SCE?
Penn State Game Days and Campus Events
Home football Saturdays slow Centre County roads by midmorning. Our dispatchers review the lot openings, shuttle points, and entry rules in the official Beaver Stadium guide before every season, then time departures from SCE so your group reaches West Shore Home Field at Beaver Stadium without circling for a spot. We also carry groups to the Bryce Jordan Center, Pegula Ice Arena, and Eisenhower Auditorium for concerts, hockey, and commencement ceremonies.
Centre County Attractions and Group Outings
Groups with a free afternoon have plenty of close options. Penn's Cave in Centre Hall offers boat tours through America's only all water cavern, and its group reservation policy asks parties of 20 or larger to confirm with a deposit before the visit. History clubs and school classes head to Boalsburg, where the Pennsylvania Military Museum schedules guided group tours of its gallery and grounds beside the 28th Division Shrine. Tussey Mountain, Bald Eagle State Park, and the Victorian streets of Bellefonte round out popular day trip routes.
Regional Airport Connections Across Pennsylvania
Some itineraries begin or end at a larger hub. We often pair SCE pickups with our Harrisburg International charter bus transfers along US Route 322 and our Arnold Palmer Regional Airport charter bus trips toward Latrobe and the Laurel Highlands. For statewide tours that stop in Philadelphia, Hershey, or Pittsburgh, explore our full Pennsylvania charter bus rental coverage.

History and Regional Importance
Penn State opened the airport in 1958 on university land, and commercial airline service began in 1978. A new passenger terminal was completed in 1993, and the runway was lengthened to 6,701 feet in 1997. In November 2023, University Park Airport became State College Regional Airport so travelers searching for flights into central Pennsylvania could place it easily on a map. On February 26, 2026, the Penn State Board of Trustees approved terms to transfer the airport to the Centre County Airport Authority, a deal that still requires Federal Aviation Administration approval. The authority has said passengers can expect normal operations during the transition.
Airlines Serving SCE
Two carriers fly from SCE today. United Express connects State College with Chicago O'Hare and Washington Dulles, while American Eagle flies to Philadelphia. American launches twice daily nonstop service to Charlotte on October 5, 2026. As of July 2026, the schedule showed four daily Chicago departures, three to Dulles, and three to Philadelphia.
Domestic Nonstop Destinations
- Chicago O'Hare International (ORD) on United Express, with onward connections across the Midwest and West Coast
- Washington Dulles International (IAD) on United Express, a key gateway for East Coast and overseas connections
- Philadelphia International (PHL) on American Eagle, with links throughout the American network
- Charlotte Douglas International (CLT) on American Eagle, twice daily from October 5, 2026
Terminal Information
SCE operates one compact terminal that stays open 24 hours a day. Travelers find free WiFi, charging stations, water refill stations, an ATM, and the Penn Valley Cafe, and the security checkpoint supports TSA PreCheck. Passengers currently board from ground level, and the airport authority has pursued federal funding for two passenger boarding bridges. Rental counters for National, Alamo, Enterprise, Avis, Budget, and Hertz sit inside the building.
Passenger Traffic
The airport recorded 148,196 enplanements in 2025, its highest total since the pandemic and the third busiest year in its history. Added Chicago and Dulles frequencies in spring 2026 and the new Charlotte route point toward continued growth, which also means busier curbs on football and graduation weekends.
Parking Overview
Both lots sit to the left as you enter the airport grounds, a short walk from the terminal doors. The State College Regional Airport parking page lists daily rates starting at $7 in the Economy Lot and $12 in the Main Lot, and either lot works for short or long stays. The first two hours are free, the Main Lot accepts cash or credit cards, and accessible spaces line the front of the terminal.
Pickup and Drop Off Guidance
Airport security rules bar unattended vehicles in the loading and unloading zones, so the curb is for active loading only. A large coach should never sit out front while a delayed flight taxis in. Our dispatch team monitors live arrival data and releases the coach from a nearby staging point once the aircraft reaches the gate.
Where Your Chauffeur Meets the Group?
Your chauffeur waits near baggage claim with a name sign, helps gather luggage, and walks everyone out to the vehicle together. For teams with equipment trunks or instrument cases, we plan cargo capacity when you book.
Ground Transportation Options
The airport lists rental cars inside the terminal, Nittany Express taxi and airport shuttle service, Fullington Trailways, and app based rides through Uber and Lyft. Intercity carriers such as Greyhound and FlixBus serve State College from stops in town. These options suit solo travelers, though groups of five or larger often end up splitting across several cars and arriving at different times.
Tips for Arriving Passengers
- Share your flight number and passenger count at booking so we can size the vehicle and follow any delays.
- Plan to reach SCE about 90 minutes before departure on football weekends, when checkpoint lines grow quickly.
- Pack a warm layer from October through April, since Nittany Valley evenings turn cold fast.
- Keep a REAL ID or passport ready for the security checkpoint.
- Tell us about ski bags, instruments, or team trunks ahead of time.
Planning Around Penn State Weekends
Hotel rates and road traffic peak during home football games, the Central Pennsylvania Festival of the Arts in July, and spring commencement. Reserve your coach early for those dates, because local fleets often sell out weeks in advance.
Why a Prebooked Chauffeur Service Is Often the Easier Choice for Groups
Taxis at a regional airport are limited, and rideshare wait times can stretch after late evening arrivals. A prebooked chauffeur gives your group a fixed quote, a vehicle sized to the headcount, active flight tracking, and a driver who already knows the drop off rules at your hotel or venue. One vehicle also keeps everyone together, which matters when you are responsible for a team roster or a list of wedding guests.
