What we offer

Cullman Regional Folsom Field (CMD) Airport Limo Service

The nearest towered airline hub is forty miles away, which is why CMD arrivals rely on a driver who tracks the tail number, meets the aircraft on the ramp and reaches Smith Lake or Birmingham on time.

Stretch Limo Service to and from Cullman Regional Folsom Field (CMD) Airport

Private aircraft touch down at Cullman Regional Folsom Field all day long, and almost none of them find a taxi waiting outside. Union Limousine fills that gap with a dedicated Alabama airport limo service built around general aviation fields like CMD, where arrivals are scattered across the clock and the ramp sits five miles north of town in Vinemont. Your chauffeur reads the tail number, waits at the terminal door, loads the bags and drives you straight to Cullman, Hanceville, Smith Lake, Huntsville or Birmingham in a vehicle that matches the flight you just stepped off.

Why Private Flyers Choose Us at CMD?

A 5,500 foot runway in the middle of Cullman County brings in a very specific kind of traveler. Plant managers flying in for a factory tour, families headed to a lake house, jump teams booked with Skydive Alabama and medical staff rotating through Cullman Regional Medical Center all share one need: a car that is already there when the propeller stops. We dispatch to CMD on your schedule, hold position through weather delays at no extra cost and treat a Cessna arrival with the same care as a Gulfstream.

  • Chauffeurs who know the County Road 1360 entrance, the apron and the hangar rows
  • Flight tracking tied to your aircraft, so an early touchdown still finds the car waiting
  • Flat quotes to Huntsville, Birmingham, Decatur, Hartselle and the Smith Lake shoreline
  • Child seats, luggage trailers for skydiving gear and bottled water on request
  • Round the clock dispatch for red eye arrivals and sunrise departures

Who Books a Limo at Cullman Regional Airport?

Corporate Flights and Plant Visits

Cullman is one of the busiest manufacturing counties in north Alabama, and executives often fly into CMD to reach plants along Highway 31 and Interstate 65 without the drive from a major hub. A black sedan or SUV meets the aircraft, carries the team to the facility and waits on site for the return leg. Multi stop days across Cullman, Hanceville and Good Hope run on a single hourly booking with one driver who already knows the gate codes.

Flight Students, Jump Teams and Weekend Visitors

Folsom Field is home to the Wallace State aviation and flight technology program, so parents visiting a student pilot, examiners flying in for check rides and tandem skydiving groups all need reliable ground transport at odd hours. Our Sprinter vans carry a full jump load plus rigs, while sedans handle a quick hop to a hotel on Highway 157 or a dinner reservation in downtown Cullman.

Weddings, Rock the South and Oktoberfest Weekends

When Rock the South fills York Farms each summer and Oktoberfest takes over downtown each fall, Cullman hotels sell out and private aircraft fill the ramp. Stretch limousines and party buses shuttle wedding parties between St. Bernard Abbey, Stone Bridge Farms and lakefront venues, and charter buses move entire families from the airport to a festival gate without anyone searching for parking.

History and Regional Importance

Cullman first secured a federal airport contract in 1935, lost it to the war effort and finally broke ground in Vinemont on April 1, 1956. The field opened on November 30, 1958 and took the name of Governor James Folsom, a Cullman native who had championed the project. The original 4,500 foot strip has since grown to 5,500 feet, and a federally funded apron reconstruction that began in 2024 added parking space for larger business jets. Today the airport anchors industrial recruitment for the county, hosts an Air Evac Lifeteam base and the north Alabama aviation unit of the state troopers, and gives Cullman a front door that sits halfway between Alabama's two largest metro areas.

Airlines Operating from CMD

No scheduled airline serves Cullman Regional. CMD is a public use general aviation airport, so every arrival is a private, corporate, charter, training, skydiving or medical flight. Travelers who need a commercial ticket connect through Huntsville International or Birmingham Shuttlesworth, both an easy chauffeured drive up or down Interstate 65.

Domestic Destinations

Because the airport carries no airline schedule, destinations are set by the aircraft owner. The 5,500 by 100 foot grooved runway handles turboprops, light jets and midsize jets, which puts Atlanta, Nashville, Dallas, Houston, Chicago and most of the Southeast within nonstop range for charter operators. Jet A and 100LL fuel are available on the field, and GPS approaches to both runway ends keep the airport usable in marginal weather.

Terminal Information

A single terminal building beside the apron serves as the fixed base operator. Inside you will find a passenger lounge, pilot planning area, restrooms and an automated weather station, with major airframe and engine repair available on site. The field is untowered, operates on CTAF 122.8 and has no customs facility, so international arrivals clear elsewhere before continuing to Cullman. Dozens of T hangars and corporate hangars line the ramp, and new hangar rows are under construction as part of the expansion that began in 2024.

Passenger Traffic

Federal records put annual activity near 37,800 aircraft movements, split between local training flights and itinerant business and leisure traffic. Several dozen aircraft are based here, most of them single engine trainers along with helicopters used for flight instruction, air ambulance work and law enforcement. Weekend skydiving and daily flight school operations mean the ramp stays active even without a commercial schedule.

Parking Overview

The terminal lot is small, close to the door and free to use, which works well for pilots staying a few hours but leaves little room during festival weekends or fly in events. Aircraft tie downs and transient hangar space can be arranged through the airport office. Visitors who arrive by car to meet a flight should plan to wait inside the terminal, since there is no cell phone lot or long term garage.

Pick Up and Drop Off Guidance

Turn off Alabama Highway 157 onto County Road 1360 and follow the signs to the terminal. The Union Limousine chauffeur parks in the terminal lot, confirms your arrival with the office and greets you at the lounge door with a name sign. With airport permission the car can pull closer to the apron gate for passengers with mobility needs or heavy equipment. For departures we recommend arriving 20 to 30 minutes before your scheduled wheels up so the crew can load bags and complete fueling without rushing.

Ground Transportation Options

Rental cars can be arranged through the airport office with advance notice, and that is the extent of on field transportation. Cullman County operates a demand response rural transit system that requires booking days ahead, and rideshare coverage in Vinemont is thin at best. The practical answer for most travelers is a reserved chauffeur or a CMD airport car service that is already parked when the aircraft taxis in.

Tips for Arriving Passengers

Before Wheels Down

Send us the tail number and departure airport so we can track the flight live. Confirm any need for a car seat, a luggage trailer or a second vehicle for crew.

On the Ramp

Let the line crew handle fuel while your chauffeur handles bags. Cell service is reliable at the terminal, so a quick text confirms where the car is parked.

Weather and Timing

North Alabama storms build fast in summer afternoons. If your pilot diverts to Huntsville or Birmingham, call dispatch and we will reposition the car to the new airport at no penalty.

Why a Prebooked Chauffeur Beats Taxis and Rideshare at CMD?

Taxis do not stage at a general aviation field, and rideshare apps often show a 30 to 45 minute wait for Vinemont pickups, if a driver accepts at all. A prebooked chauffeur removes that uncertainty. The fare is fixed before you fly, the vehicle is sized for your luggage, the driver waits through delays and the same car can stay with you for a full day of meetings. For groups, one Sprinter or bus replaces a convoy of rideshare cars that may never show up.

Nearby Airports and Local Areas We Serve from CMD

Cullman sits on Interstate 65 almost exactly halfway between Huntsville and Birmingham, so a limo from Folsom Field reaches either city in about an hour. Travelers who split a trip between a private leg and a commercial flight pair this page with our Huntsville International (HSV) Airport limo service for Redstone Arsenal and Research Park meetings, or with our Birmingham Shuttlesworth International (BHM) Airport limo service for downtown Birmingham and UAB. Pryor Field in Decatur and Hartselle Morgan County Regional are also short hops when a client's aircraft is based there.

Closer to home, the City of Cullman anchors a county of small towns and big attractions. Depot Park hosts Christkindlmarkt in winter and the Strawberry Festival in spring, Hurricane Creek Park draws hikers to its gorge, and Stony Lonesome OHV Park pulls riders from three states. We run regular transfers to Hanceville, Good Hope, Holly Pond, Baileyton, Dodge City, Garden City and West Point, plus the Shrine of the Most Blessed Sacrament for pilgrim groups.

Smith Lake is the single most requested destination from the airport. The Cullman Area Chamber of Commerce describes it as one of the cleanest lakes in the country and the deepest in Alabama, and its tourism guide also points visitors to Ave Maria Grotto, the four acre hillside of miniature shrines at St. Bernard Abbey. Our SUVs handle the winding lake roads to Crane Hill, Logan and Bremen with coolers and tackle in the back, and our Alabama limo service continues beyond county lines to Jasper, Decatur, Guntersville and the Shoals whenever the itinerary calls for it.

Yes. Your chauffeur waits at the terminal lounge door and, with airport permission, can pull closer to the apron gate for heavy luggage or mobility needs. Send the tail number and we track the flight to the minute.

Cullman Regional sits just off Interstate 65 about halfway between the two cities. A sedan reaches Huntsville International in roughly 50 minutes and Birmingham Shuttlesworth in about an hour, traffic permitting.

Smith Lake is the most popular destination from the airport. Our SUVs and Sprinter vans handle the lake roads to Crane Hill, Logan, Bremen and the marinas with room for coolers, rods and weekend bags.

No taxi stand exists at CMD, and rideshare pickups in Vinemont often show long waits or no driver at all. A reserved car is the dependable way to leave the airport on time.

Tell dispatch as soon as the pilot decides. We reposition the vehicle to Huntsville, Birmingham, Decatur or Hartselle at no penalty, since the booking follows your aircraft wherever it ends up.

Sprinter vans and SUVs have cargo space for parachute rigs, helmets and duffels for a full jump load. Mention the gear when booking so we assign a vehicle with enough room.

Yes. Party buses and charter buses run between CMD, Cullman hotels, downtown and York Farms throughout the festival, with return trips scheduled around the headline set.

Reserve stretch limousines two to four weeks ahead for spring and fall weekends. Sedans and SUVs for airport transfers can usually be confirmed within a day or two.

Complimentary wait time is built into every private aviation booking. We track the aircraft live, so a late departure from your origin airport simply moves the pickup.

A Sprinter van seats up to 14 with luggage, which gives an eight person team room to spread out and work between plant visits along Highway 31 and Interstate 65.
