What we offer

Sioux Gateway (SUX) Airport Limo Service

Wedding guests, tournament teams, and executives across Siouxland rely on our Sioux Gateway (SUX) Airport Limo Service, with sedans, Sprinter vans, and 56 seat coaches booked at quoted rates up front.

Stretch Limo Service to and from Sioux Gateway (SUX) Airport

Flights into Sioux Gateway Airport tend to arrive at the edges of the day, usually the evening return from Denver or the afternoon arrival from O'Hare, and that timing is when a dependable ride matters most. Our Sioux Gateway (SUX) Airport Limo Service puts a licensed chauffeur at the terminal curb before your aircraft reaches the jet bridge, ready to carry you to Sioux City, Le Mars, Dakota Dunes, or any other corner of Siouxland. Union Limousine operates this route as part of a statewide Iowa airport limo service network, so the booking standards you expect at a major hub apply at this compact field beside Interstate 29.

Why Siouxland Travelers Reserve a Chauffeur at SUX

Sioux City sits where Iowa, Nebraska, and South Dakota meet, which means a single airport pickup can finish in three states within twenty minutes. We plan every trip around that geography, along with the winter winds that sweep across the Missouri River valley. Here is what each reservation includes:

  • Live flight monitoring, so your pickup time shifts with any delay out of Denver or Chicago
  • A quoted rate shown before you confirm, with wait time and gratuity terms spelled out
  • Chauffeurs who know Sergeant Bluff, the Gordon Drive corridor, and every Missouri River bridge
  • Child seats, extra luggage room, and name sign greetings available on request
  • Coverage around the clock, including the predawn departure window

Corporate Travel Across the Tristate Area

Executives visiting headquarters offices in Dakota Dunes, plant managers touring food processing sites, and consultants meeting clients downtown all lean on punctual transfers. Union Limousine assigns the same chauffeur for multiday itineraries whenever possible, which keeps schedules predictable and conversations confidential. Solo travelers who only need a sedan for a quick hop to a hotel can review our SUX car service for that lighter option.

Weddings, Proms, and Milestone Celebrations

Couples flying relatives in for a ceremony often book the airport transfer first, then extend the reservation for the reception at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino Sioux City or photos along the bluffs of Stone State Park. Families planning a full weekend can pair this route with our wider limo service in Iowa for rehearsal dinners, Orpheum Theatre outings, and late night returns.

Team Arrivals and Group Events

Visiting athletic squads competing against Morningside University or Briarcliff University, concert crews loading into the Tyson Events Center, and delegates heading to the Sioux City Convention Center all arrive with gear and tight call times. Larger parties can reserve coaches through our Iowa airport charter bus service, while mid sized crews usually prefer our Sprinter van service in Iowa for its high roof and rear cargo bay.

History and Regional Importance

The field opened in July 1942 as Sioux City Army Air Base, where bomber crews trained for Flying Fortress and Liberator missions during World War II. After the war, the Iowa Air National Guard settled here, and today the 185th Air Refueling Wing flies Stratotanker refueling jets from the military side of the airfield. In 2002 the airport took the name of Colonel George "Bud" Day, a Sioux City native and the only person awarded both the Medal of Honor and the Air Force Cross. The airfield is also remembered nationally for the July 1989 emergency landing of United Flight 232, when local responders helped 184 people survive. Its 9,002 foot main runway still serves as the commercial gateway for northwest Iowa, northeast Nebraska, and southeast South Dakota.

Airlines and Domestic Destinations

United Express, operated by SkyWest Airlines, provides all scheduled service from SUX with nonstop flights to Chicago O'Hare and Denver International. A second daily Denver departure began in January 2026, opening more same day connections across the United network to both coasts. In September 2026 the Sioux City Council recommended that SkyWest continue flying the route under a new four year federal air service subsidy contract.

Terminal Information

The passenger terminal is compact and easy to read. A $6.2 million remodel completed in 2011 refreshed the building and added a new passenger loading bridge, so travelers board and deplane without stepping outside. The walk from gate to baggage claim takes only a minute or two, which lets your chauffeur greet you quickly.

Passenger Traffic

Ridership has climbed for three straight years. The airport handled 49,504 passengers in 2022 and 55,540 in 2025, and the twelve months ending June 2026 reached 59,246 passengers, a 13 percent gain and the highest total in four years.

Parking Overview

Two surface lots sit steps from the terminal entrance.

Posted Parking Rates

  • First 60 minutes: free
  • One to two hours: $3
  • Two to three hours: $6
  • Over three hours: $9 daily maximum

Payment and Exit

Automated credit card exits operate 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Extended Stays

Travelers leaving a vehicle longer than 30 days should notify the parking attendant at +1 712 255 9522.

Pick Up and Drop Off Guidance

For arrivals, your chauffeur waits at the curb outside the main terminal entrance, or inside near baggage claim when you add a name sign greeting. For departures, we pull right up to the front doors so bags move straight to the ticket counter. Plan to reach the terminal about 90 minutes before an early morning flight, since security lines can build ahead of the first departure.

Ground Transportation Options

Avis, Hertz, Enterprise, National, and Alamo staff the rental counters. Uber and Lyft serve the airport, though driver supply can thin out late at night. Sioux City Transit runs hourly service Monday through Saturday from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., and riders call ahead to schedule a stop at the terminal doors. The city lists every option on its car rental and taxi page.

Tips for Arriving Passengers

  • Text your chauffeur once the aircraft reaches the gate
  • Dress for wind chill from November through March
  • Keep checked bag tags handy for a quick claim match
  • Confirm whether your hotel sits on the Iowa, Nebraska, or South Dakota side of the river

Why a Pre Booked Chauffeur Is the Smarter Choice

Small airports see demand arrive in waves. When a full regional jet unloads, the few available taxis and rideshare drivers disappear within minutes, and surge pricing climbs fast after dark. A reservation with Union Limousine locks in your vehicle, your rate, and your chauffeur before you leave Denver or Chicago, so the only wait you face is the short walk to the curb.
