Albuquerque International Sunport (ABQ) Airport Limo Service
Corporate teams headed to Sandia Labs, wedding parties, and Balloon Fiesta groups: this Albuquerque International Sunport (ABQ) Airport Limo Service pairs each new arrival with the right size vehicle.

Stretch Limo Service to and from Albuquerque International Sunport (ABQ) Airport
Touch down at the Sunport and step straight into a black sedan, SUV or stretch limousine with a chauffeur already waiting at the curb. Our New Mexico airport limo service covers every arrival and departure at Albuquerque International Sunport, the busiest passenger gateway in the state, with flight tracked pickups, flat quoted fares and vehicles sized for one executive or a wedding party of thirty. Union Limousine has been moving travelers to and from airports since 1997, and that same standard of punctual, discreet service now reaches Albuquerque, Santa Fe, Rio Rancho and the full length of the Rio Grande corridor.
Why Travelers Across New Mexico Choose Our ABQ Limo Service?
The Sunport sits only three miles southeast of Downtown Albuquerque, yet the drive to Santa Fe, Los Alamos or Taos can stretch past an hour on Interstate 25 and the mountain highways beyond it. A chauffeured transfer turns that stretch into working time, rest time or simply a quiet ride past the Sandia foothills. Here is what sets our Sunport service apart:
- Real time flight monitoring on every inbound aircraft, so a late arrival from Dallas Fort Worth or an early landing from Denver never leaves you waiting or stranded.
- Meet and greet inside baggage claim on request, with a name board and help carrying luggage, golf bags or trade show cases out to the vehicle.
- Fixed, all inclusive quotes that already include tolls, fuel, airport fees and gratuity, with no surge pricing during Balloon Fiesta week or holiday peaks.
- Licensed, insured chauffeurs who know the Sunport curb layout, the Door 2 and Door 7 pickup zones and the quickest route onto Interstate 25 at any hour.
- Round the clock dispatch for 5 a.m. departures, midnight arrivals and last minute schedule changes.
Private Airport Transfers Built Around Your Flight
Every reservation is anchored to a flight number. Our dispatch team watches the aircraft from pushback at the origin airport to wheels down on Runway 08/26, then releases the chauffeur to the terminal curb at the right moment. If your Southwest connection through Phoenix runs late, the pickup time moves with it at no extra charge. On departure days we calculate the leave time from your address backward from the airline's recommended check in window, adding a cushion for Interstate 40 construction or weekday traffic around Gibson Boulevard.
Serving Albuquerque, Santa Fe and the Rio Grande Corridor
Our New Mexico limo service reaches far beyond the airport perimeter. Typical Sunport runs include Downtown and Old Town hotels, the Nob Hill and University districts, Uptown offices near Coronado Center, Rio Rancho and Corrales to the north, and Los Lunas and Belen to the south. Longer transfers carry guests to Santa Fe Plaza, Los Alamos National Laboratory, Angel Fire and Taos lodges, Ruidoso cabins and the pueblos along the river. Each quote is calculated from the actual door to door distance, so a ride to Sandia Resort and Casino is priced differently from a run to Isleta Resort, and both are confirmed in writing before the chauffeur rolls.
Business Travel to Kirtland, Sandia and Downtown
Albuquerque hosts a dense cluster of federal and research employers, and many of our passengers are headed to Kirtland Air Force Base, Sandia National Laboratories, the Air Force Research Laboratory or the law firms and banks around Civic Plaza. Our New Mexico airport chauffeur service pairs these travelers with a dedicated chauffeur who can wait during a gate visit, run a second stop at the Albuquerque Convention Center and return to the Sunport on the same booking. Union Limousine also handles road shows for executives who need a single vehicle for a full day of meetings across the metro.
Balloon Fiesta, Weddings and Group Travel
Each October the Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta pulls hundreds of thousands of visitors through the Sunport in the span of nine days. Hotel shuttles fill up, rideshare prices climb and the cell phone lot overflows before sunrise. A reserved vehicle removes that uncertainty. Our New Mexico Sprinter van service moves families and photography groups to Balloon Fiesta Park with room for camera cases and cold weather layers, while stretch limousines and party buses handle wedding parties bound for Los Poblanos, Hotel Albuquerque at Old Town or the vineyards around Corrales. Sports teams flying in for games at The Pit or Isotopes Park ride together in mini and full size coaches with every seat belt and luggage bay accounted for.
Our Fleet for Sunport Transfers
Every vehicle in the Union Limousine Albuquerque fleet is late model, detailed before each trip and climate controlled for high desert summers and January cold snaps. Capacity figures below count passengers with standard airline luggage.

History and Importance
Albuquerque's air history began with two private fields: Oxnard Field, which opened in 1928 on the East Mesa, and the West Mesa Airport of 1929 that became known as the TWA airport. Federal Works Progress Administration funding then paid for a new municipal airport four miles west of Oxnard Field. Albuquerque Municipal Airport opened in 1939 with two paved runways, a Pueblo style terminal designed by Ernest Blumenthal and a hangar built to house the Boeing 307 Stratoliner that TWA flew across the Southwest. That original adobe terminal still stands, restored and listed on the National Register of Historic Places since 1988, and today it houses Transportation Security Administration offices.
The city adopted the Sunport name in 1963, and the present terminal designed by William E. Burk Jr. opened on November 12, 1965 with eight gates. A 1989 expansion added the A and B concourses that most passengers walk today. The airport is owned and operated by the City of Albuquerque Aviation Department and shares its runways with Kirtland Air Force Base, which provides aircraft rescue and firefighting coverage. A 2019 University of New Mexico study credited the Sunport with 2.225 billion dollars in annual economic output and roughly 19,000 jobs statewide, and the airport itself employs over 3,000 people.
Airlines Operating at ABQ
Six major carriers serve the Sunport: Alaska Airlines, American Airlines, Delta Air Lines, JetBlue, Southwest Airlines and United Airlines. Southwest holds the largest market share, with Las Vegas alone served five times a day. Two commuter airlines, Advanced Air and Contour Airlines, operate smaller aircraft from the C gate area; Contour began daily nonstop service to Carlsbad on March 1, 2026 under a four year agreement. Spirit Airlines ended its Albuquerque flights on October 3, 2025 and ceased operations entirely in May 2026, so its former Las Vegas passengers now ride Southwest. Amazon Air, FedEx and UPS handle cargo, which topped 83 million pounds in 2025.
Domestic Destinations
The Sunport offers nonstop flights to over 30 cities. The heaviest routes link Albuquerque with Dallas Fort Worth, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Phoenix and Denver, each carrying several hundred passengers a day. Other nonstop markets include Chicago, Houston, Atlanta, Salt Lake City, Seattle, San Diego, Austin, Baltimore, Burbank, Nashville, Minneapolis and New York. American Airlines is adding Charlotte and Philadelphia nonstops in October 2026, opening one stop connections across the East Coast and Europe. Within the state, Contour's Carlsbad flight connects Carlsbad Caverns country to the national network. Most of our airport transfers are timed around the early morning bank of eastbound departures and the late evening arrivals from the West Coast.
Terminal Information
ABQ operates a single terminal building of roughly 600,000 square feet. Ticketing and the central security checkpoint sit on the upper level, baggage claim and ground transportation on the lower level. Concourses A and B hold 22 gates for the major carriers, and a separate C gate area serves the commuter airlines. The airport is midway through Dream of Flight, an 85 million dollar renovation announced in 2022 and the first major terminal overhaul in three decades. The project relocates the TSA checkpoint, converts lighting to LED and replaces a concessions layout that predated 2001 with a new food hall featuring local names such as Laguna Burger and Steel Bender Brewyard. In May 2026 the Sunport also launched a FlySide visitor pass kiosk that lets people without a boarding pass accompany travelers past security. The airfield sits at 5,355 feet with Runway 08/26 at 13,793 feet, Runway 03/21 at 10,000 feet and Runway 12/30 at 6,000 feet for general aviation, where Cutter Aviation and Atlantic Aviation serve private jets.
Passenger Traffic
The Sunport welcomed 5,274,764 passengers in calendar 2025, with 155,854 takeoffs and landings for an average of 427 movements a day including military and general aviation. Fiscal year 2024 set the all time record at 5.47 million passengers, finally passing the 5.41 million mark from fiscal 2019. Traffic peaks in October around Balloon Fiesta, with single months above 560,000 passengers, and dips in January and February. Holiday periods now exceed pre pandemic volumes, which is why airport officials urge arriving two hours before domestic departures during late December.
Parking Overview
Three public lots sit within walking distance of the terminal. The four level covered garage, adjacent to the building with about 3,400 spaces, charges nothing for the first 10 minutes, 3 dollars up to 30 minutes, 5 dollars to one hour, 6 dollars to three hours, 7 dollars to six hours and a 14 dollar daily maximum. The Premium Economy lot north of the garage holds roughly 450 partially covered spaces at 10 dollars a day. The Basic Economy surface lot east of the structure offers 388 self pay spaces at 8 dollars a day, open around the clock with card and tap to pay. Accessible parking in the garage is free for the first 24 hours and 11 dollars a day afterward.
Cell Phone Waiting Lot
In September 2025 the airport opened The Holding Pattern, a 3.29 million dollar cell phone waiting lot at 2325 Sunport Loop SE, directly north of the terminal beside the Sheraton hotel. It is free, has restrooms and large flight information boards, and allows no commercial vehicles or trailers.
Height Restrictions
Garage levels 1 through 3 clear 6 feet 8 inches, level 4 clears 8 feet 6 inches, Premium Economy clears 8 feet 9 inches and the arrivals roadway clears 10 feet 6 inches. Our Sprinter vans and coaches stage in the commercial lane for exactly this reason.
Pick Up and Drop Off Guidance
Departing passengers are dropped on the upper level curb outside ticketing; stopping is limited to active loading. Arriving passengers collect bags on the lower level, where the airport routes taxis to Door 2 and rideshare pickups to Door 7. Private vehicles may use the garage, where the first 10 minutes are free, or wait in the cell phone lot until the traveler is curbside. Chauffeured vehicles use the designated limousine staging area and the commercial lane outside the first level. For meet and greet bookings our chauffeur waits at the base of the escalators near the baggage carousels with a name board, then walks you out to the vehicle.
Ground Transportation Options
Several public options serve the Sunport. ABQ RIDE Route 50 runs between the airport and the Alvarado Transportation Center downtown on weekdays and Saturdays, boarding on the lower level at the west end of the shuttle island, and the entire city bus system is zero fare. The New Mexico Rail Runner Express links Santa Fe, Downtown Albuquerque and Belen, though its Route 250 airport connector is currently suspended, so rail riders transfer on Route 50. Rental cars live in a consolidated center reached by shuttles leaving the commercial lane every few minutes. Taxi companies including zTrip and ABQ Metro Taxi line up at Door 2, and regional shuttles run to Santa Fe, Socorro and Taos on fixed schedules. None of these choices wait for a delayed flight, which is where a reserved chauffeur earns its fare.
Tips for Arriving Passengers
- Albuquerque sits at a mile high elevation. Drink water on the flight, go easy on alcohol the first evening and expect a short adjustment if you are arriving from sea level.
- Visit Albuquerque's taxicab, limousine and rideshare guide notes that taxis are generally summoned by phone around town, so a prearranged return pickup saves time at hotels outside Downtown.
- Keen to ride the Sandia Peak Tramway on your first afternoon? The base at 30 Tramway Rd is about 25 minutes from the Sunport, and the tram closes Tuesdays and for scheduled maintenance each November, so check dates before you plan the detour.
- October arrivals should add 30 to 45 minutes to any drive touching Interstate 25 north of Downtown while Balloon Fiesta traffic funnels into Balloon Fiesta Park.
- Winter flights from Denver and Chicago often arrive after dark. Ask for a chauffeur with experience on the La Bajada hill if you are continuing to Santa Fe in snow.
Why a Prebooked Chauffeur Beats the Taxi Line?
Taxis at Door 2 and rideshare cars at Door 7 are first come, first served. When three widebody arrivals from Dallas, Phoenix and Los Angeles land within the same twenty minutes, the queue can run past the curb and app prices climb with it. A reserved chauffeur is assigned to your flight hours ahead, tracks it through any delay, and is already parked in the limousine staging area when the seatbelt sign goes off. The fare is locked in writing, the vehicle is sized to your luggage, child seats are installed on request and the same driver can handle the return leg. For groups, a single Sprinter or coach replaces four or five separate rideshare cars that would otherwise arrive at different times.

Frequently Asked Questions
Explore our FAQs to learn more about our luxury fleet, professional chauffeurs, airport transfers, reservations, and private transportation services designed for a comfortable and seamless travel experience.
For curbside pickups the chauffeur waits in the limousine staging area on the lower level near the baggage claim exits and sends a text with the vehicle description once you land. For meet and greet bookings the chauffeur stands at the bottom of the escalators by the carousels holding a name board, then escorts you to the vehicle.
Sedans and SUVs can usually be confirmed with 24 hours of notice. Stretch limousines, Sprinter vans and coaches should be booked a week ahead, and anything during Balloon Fiesta week in October or the Christmas holidays is best reserved two to three weeks out because the whole metro fills up.
Yes. Every reservation is tied to a flight number and our dispatch monitors the aircraft from departure to touchdown. If your flight is delayed, diverted or lands early, the pickup time shifts automatically and no waiting charge applies.
Absolutely. Santa Fe Plaza is about 65 miles up Interstate 25 and takes roughly 70 minutes, while Los Alamos is around two hours through the Jemez foothills. Both are quoted as flat fares that include fuel and gratuity, and SUVs are recommended for winter trips.
A Sprinter van is the right call. It carries up to 14 passengers with a dedicated rear luggage bay for camera cases, folding chairs and cold weather gear, and its high roof means nobody has to stoop during the early morning ride to Balloon Fiesta Park.
Forward facing and rear facing child seats plus booster seats can be installed in any sedan or SUV at no charge. Just add the child's age and weight in the booking notes so the chauffeur arrives with the correct seat already secured.
Yes. We regularly carry contractors, researchers and military families to the Kirtland gates and the Sandia badge office. Passengers are responsible for their own base access credentials, and the chauffeur will drop at the visitor control center when a base pass has not been issued in advance.
The run to Downtown or Old Town is short, about three to five miles, so sedan transfers are priced close to a flat local fare with tolls, airport fees and gratuity included. SUVs, stretch limousines and larger vehicles are quoted by vehicle class, and the exact figure is confirmed in writing before you travel.
Yes. Dispatch runs 24 hours a day, so a 4 a.m. pickup for the first eastbound bank is routine. We calculate the leave time from your address based on your airline's check in cutoff and typical traffic on Gibson Boulevard and Interstate 25.
We do. Private jet arrivals at Double Eagle II on the West Mesa, commercial flights at Santa Fe Regional Airport and FBO arrivals at Cutter or Atlantic Aviation on the Sunport's general aviation ramp can all be booked with the same flight tracking and meet and greet standard.
