Telluride Regional (TEX) Airport Limo Service
Festival weekends, wedding guests and company retreats in Mountain Village all begin with one ride. Telluride Regional (TEX) Airport Limo Service brings Sprinters and coaches to the lot ahead of time.

Stretch Limo Service to and from Telluride Regional (TEX) Airport
Few runways in America sit as close to the sky as the strip on Deep Creek Mesa, and few arrivals feel as good as walking out of that small terminal into a warm black car with your name on the tablet. Our Telluride Regional (TEX) Airport Limo Service is built for exactly that moment. A chauffeur who already has your flight number or tail number waits inside the terminal, carries your skis and duffels to the vehicle, and has you rolling down Last Dollar Road toward Telluride or Mountain Village within minutes of touchdown. As part of our wider Colorado airport limo service, the TEX operation runs with the same vetted drivers, the same late model fleet, and the same flat pricing you would expect from Union Limousine anywhere in the state.
Why Travelers Choose Chauffeured Service at TEX?
Telluride Regional sits six miles west of town on a plateau at roughly 9,070 feet, with the San Miguel River canyon dropping away below the end of the runway. No rideshare company is permitted to pick up here, there is no bus stop at the terminal, and the road into the box canyon can change from dry pavement to packed snow in a single afternoon. A pre booked chauffeur settles every one of those variables before you leave your origin city. Through our TEX airport car service you receive a confirmed vehicle, a confirmed driver and a confirmed price, with winter tires and all wheel drive fitted as standard from November through April.
Here is what separates a chauffeured pickup at this airport from the alternatives:
- Live tracking of every Denver Air Connection jet and every private aircraft arrival, so a weather hold at Denver International never leaves you waiting at an empty curb.
- Chauffeurs who live in the Telluride and Montrose area and drive Colorado 145 and Colorado 62 in every season, including the Dallas Divide in a March storm.
- Flat quoted rates for TEX to Telluride, TEX to Mountain Village and TEX to Ridgway or Ouray, with gratuity shown up front and no surge pricing on festival weekends.
- Complimentary wait time tied to the actual touchdown, child seats on request, and ski and snowboard storage in every SUV and Sprinter.
- One account that also covers Denver, Aspen, Eagle County and Montrose, so a multi stop Colorado itinerary stays with one dispatcher and one invoice.
Who Books a Limo at Telluride Regional Airport?
Winter produces the largest share of our TEX bookings. Skiers on the Denver or Phoenix jet arrive with boot bags, boards and a week of luggage, and they want to be on the gondola in Mountain Village before the lunch rush. Summer and early fall shift the mix toward festival crowds. Telluride Bluegrass in June, the Telluride Film Festival over Labor Day weekend and the Blues and Brews weekend in September all fill the terminal with groups who need Sprinters and mini coaches on a tight schedule.
Corporate retreats at the Telluride Conference Center, destination weddings at the Peaks Resort or at ranch venues along the Dallas Divide, and private jet passengers using the FBO round out the calendar. Because our San Miguel County car service is the same team that handles TEX arrivals, a wedding planner can route guests from the airport to Wilson Mesa, back to a rehearsal dinner on Colorado Avenue and out to the ceremony site without changing vendors or renegotiating a single rate.
Our Fleet for the San Juan Mountains
Every vehicle Union Limousine sends to TEX is chosen for altitude, grade and cargo, since a ski group with 14 people and 14 board bags needs a very different setup from a couple heading to a spa weekend. Capacities below are maximum passenger counts with luggage already accounted for.
Sedans for Up to 3 Passengers
- Executive sedans suited to solo business travelers, couples and anyone connecting from the FBO to a hotel on Colorado Avenue.
- Best for carry on luggage only; ask for an SUV if you are bringing skis.
- Ideal for conference arrivals, dinner transfers to Mountain Village and quiet rides back to the terminal before a 7 am departure.
SUVs for Up to 6 Passengers
- Full size SUVs with all wheel drive, winter tires and rooftop or rear cargo space for skis and snowboards.
- The default choice for families and ski groups arriving on the Denver Air Connection jet.
- Comfortable on Last Dollar Road, the Dallas Divide and the switchbacks above Ouray in any month.
Stretch Limousines for Up to 20 Passengers
- Reserved for weddings, milestone birthdays and bachelor or bachelorette weekends arriving as one group.
- Bar service, privacy partition and ambient lighting for the short run from TEX into town or Mountain Village.
- Popular for post ceremony transfers between the Peaks Resort, the San Sophia Overlook and reception venues on Main Street.
Sprinter Vans for Up to 14 Passengers
- High roof executive Sprinters with rear cargo for 14 ski bags and 14 suitcases at once.
- The workhorse for festival groups, corporate retreats and extended families on a single arrival.
- Available with captain chairs, Wi Fi and USB charging so the ride from the airport doubles as a planning session.
Party Buses for Up to 30 Passengers
- Wrap around seating, sound system and lighting for celebration groups moving between TEX, Mountain Village and Telluride nightlife.
- Ideal for Bluegrass and Blues and Brews weekends when a whole crew flies in together.
- Staged at the airport or at a meeting point in town, depending on group size and road conditions.
Mini Charter Buses for Up to 35 Passengers
- Forward facing coach seating with overhead racks and underfloor luggage bays.
- Suited to conference delegations, ski club trips and wedding guest shuttles between the airport and hotels.
- Routed through Montrose Regional when a group splits across two arriving airports.
Full Size Charter Buses for Up to 56 Passengers
- Motorcoaches with restrooms, reclining seats and the cargo capacity for a full ski team or a corporate offsite.
- Coordinated in advance with airport operations for staging on the airport access road.
- Most often paired with a Montrose arrival for large groups, then used for daily shuttles in and around Telluride for the length of the event.
Where We Drive From TEX?
Telluride and Mountain Village
The core run is short: about ten minutes down Last Dollar Road and Colorado 145 to the historic district, or a few minutes longer to the gondola plaza and the hotel cluster in Mountain Village. We drop at the Madeline, the Peaks, Lumiere, Element 52, the Franz Klammer Lodge and every private residence on the valley floor or the ski runs above it. For guests staying in town, the chauffeur will stop at the Colorado Avenue market on request so the fridge is stocked before the first chairlift ride.
Ridgway, Ouray and the Dallas Divide
Colorado 62 climbs out of Placerville and crosses the Dallas Divide beneath Mount Sneffels before dropping into Ridgway, roughly 45 minutes from the airport in good weather. Ouray and its hot springs are about an hour. Ranch weddings and film shoots along this corridor are a steady part of our calendar, and we keep SUVs with winter tires on these roads all season.
Rico, Dolores and the San Juan Skyway
South of Telluride, the San Juan Skyway on Colorado 145 passes Trout Lake, Lizard Head Pass and the old mining town of Rico before reaching Dolores and Cortez. Summer travelers heading to Matterhorn Campground seven miles south of town, or onward to Mesa Verde, book SUVs with roof boxes for camping gear and bikes. The same route brings our chauffeurs back from the Four Corners region when a group splits its trip between Telluride and Durango.
Montrose Regional Airport Transfers
Montrose Regional (MTJ) sits 65 miles north of Telluride, about 75 minutes by road, and handles the larger jets from American, United, Delta, Southwest and Breeze that cannot use the short mesa runway. When a TEX flight is held or rerouted by weather, our dispatcher moves your reservation to the Montrose airport car service desk and sends a vehicle north so the only change you notice is a longer scenic drive. The same coordination works in reverse for groups that arrive on two separate airports and need to meet at one hotel.
Beyond the Western Slope
Guests who begin a trip in Telluride and end it in Aspen, Vail or Denver can keep a single reservation through our statewide Colorado limo service. A chauffeur drops you at TEX for the Denver flight, and a second chauffeur meets you at Denver International for the onward leg, with one confirmation covering both.
How Your TEX Pickup Works?
Before You Land
The moment you book, your flight number is linked to the reservation. Our dispatch team watches the Denver Air Connection departure from Denver or Phoenix, the en route progress and the final approach into the canyon. Private flyers simply give us a tail number and the FBO name. If the aircraft diverts, we know before most passengers on board do.
At the Terminal Door
Your chauffeur waits inside the small passenger terminal holding a sign with your name. Baggage arrives in minutes at TEX, so the handoff is quick: the chauffeur takes the ski bags and suitcases, walks you to the vehicle in the front lot, and confirms your destination address before pulling away.
On the Road to Town
Last Dollar Road descends toward Colorado 145 with views across the valley to Wilson Peak. In winter the vehicle is already warm, the tires are already studded or snow rated, and the chauffeur has checked road conditions on the drive up. In summer the windows can come down and the ride into the box canyon becomes the first scenic stop of the trip.
After Drop Off
Your return pickup is confirmed by text the evening before departure, with a recommended pickup time that accounts for the airport's early closing hours and the small terminal's quick check in. Need to add a dinner transfer, a gondola run or a day trip to Ouray while you are here? Reply to the same thread and the same dispatcher handles it.

History and Importance
Telluride Regional opened the modern era of mountain access to the San Miguel valley when Mesa Airlines flew the first scheduled commercial flight into the airport on December 19, 1985. At roughly 9,070 feet above sea level it remains the highest airfield in the United States with scheduled passenger flights, second in overall elevation only to Leadville. The airport is owned and operated by the Telluride Regional Airport Authority, a public body whose board, staff and public notices are published on its official site. A $24 million runway reconstruction in 2009 removed a dip in the center of the strip and added length, and a 2010 safety project widened the runway safety areas and installed an engineered arrester bed at the end of the pavement. Today the single runway, designated 9/27, measures 7,111 feet by 100 feet of grooved asphalt, and the airport is a critical link for resort workers, second home owners, medical flights and the private aviation that supports Telluride's events calendar.
Airlines Operating From TEX
Scheduled service is operated by Denver Air Connection, which introduced the first regular jet service to Telluride on May 15, 2019 using the Dornier 328 jet. Flights run year round apart from two short seasonal pauses in spring and fall. Denver Air Connection partners with United, and the airport's own commercial service page offers booking through United, American and Denver Air Connection directly, which lets travelers connect from across those carriers' networks onto the final leg into TEX. Earlier operators included United Express and America West Express service by Mesa Airlines, Great Lakes Airlines through March 2018 and Boutique Air with nine seat Pilatus aircraft until October 2019.
Domestic Destinations
Two nonstop destinations anchor the schedule: Denver International (DEN) and Phoenix Sky Harbor (PHX). Denver is the busier of the two and opens connections to the entire United hub bank, while the Phoenix flight gives Arizona, California and Texas travelers a southern routing that avoids Front Range winter weather. During peak ski weeks both routes carry extra frequency, and the airport's commercial page is the fastest place to confirm the current season's days of operation.
Terminal Information
TEX operates a single compact passenger terminal beside the FBO on the north side of the runway. Check in, security screening and baggage claim sit within a few steps of each other, and the walk from the aircraft to the front door is measured in seconds. Aircraft and pilot services run from 7 am to 7 pm in summer and 7 am to 6 pm the rest of the year, and the airport's density altitude warning for pilots, which can exceed 11,000 feet, shows how demanding this mountain field is for everyone who flies here. The terminal has no jet bridges; passengers board and deplane on the ramp, so a warm coat and a chauffeur waiting indoors matter in January.
Passenger Traffic
For the twelve months from April 2025 through March 2026, Telluride Regional handled about 18,860 arriving and departing scheduled passengers, with Denver accounting for roughly 6,030 and Phoenix roughly 3,360 of the top destination counts. Those figures are modest beside Denver International, but they understate the airport's importance: in a typical year roughly 99 percent of the field's 9,400 aircraft operations are general aviation, and about 27 aircraft are based on the airport, including a strong share of jets. The private side of the ramp is what keeps our chauffeurs busiest during festival weeks and holiday ski periods.
Parking Overview
Public parking is in a single surface lot in front of the terminal, priced at $1 per hour, $10 per day and $70 per week through ParkMobile zone 51500 or the pay machine at the terminal entrance, with the ticket placed on the dashboard. Anyone leaving a vehicle longer than 14 days is asked to check in with a customer service representative in the FBO. RV and trailer parking is no longer offered. Because the lot is small and uncovered at 9,000 feet, many winter visitors prefer to leave their own car at home and let a chauffeur handle both ends of the trip.
Pick Up and Drop Off Guidance
Commercial pickups at TEX are limited to operators authorized by the airport authority, and unauthorized vehicles are towed at the owner's expense. Our chauffeurs meet passengers inside the terminal and load at the front lot, which keeps the short curb clear for FBO traffic and hotel shuttles. For departures, plan to arrive about 60 to 75 minutes before a Denver Air Connection flight. The terminal is small and screening is quick, but winter weather can move departures earlier or later with little notice, and the airport closes nightly at 9 pm.
Ground Transportation Options
The airport's ground transportation page states plainly that no Uber or Lyft service is authorized at Telluride Airport. Travelers choose between on site rental counters from Hertz and Cliffhanger (known for Wranglers with studded snow tires), off site rental delivery from Go Rentals and Telluride Car Rental, a short list of authorized limousine and shuttle companies, and courtesy shuttles run by a handful of hotels such as the Madeline, Lumiere and the Franz Klammer Lodge. There is no public bus stop at the airport; the free Galloping Goose bus and the gondola begin in town.
Tips for Arriving Passengers
- Drink water on the flight and go slowly on your first afternoon; the terminal itself sits above 9,000 feet and the hotels in Mountain Village are higher still.
- Pack a coat, gloves and sunglasses in your carry on from November to April, since you will cross the ramp on foot.
- Confirm your chauffeur's name and vehicle by text before boarding in Denver or Phoenix so the handoff at the terminal takes seconds.
- Review the security screening rules for ski wax, fuel canisters and lithium batteries before your return flight, because the small checkpoint has no room for repacking.
- If a storm is forecast for the mesa, ask our dispatcher about a Montrose backup plan in advance; vehicles are positioned both north and south of the Dallas Divide on heavy snow days.
Why Travelers Pre Book a Chauffeur at TEX?
At most airports a rideshare app is the fallback. At Telluride Regional it is simply unavailable, and taxis are limited to a few local operators who run short on staff during Film Festival and Christmas week. A reservation with Union Limousine guarantees a specific vehicle class, a chauffeur who tracks the aircraft, a fixed price agreed before you fly, and a dispatcher who already has a plan if the flight ends up in Montrose. For families with children, groups with 14 ski bags and executives who need to take a call on the way down the hill, that certainty is the whole point of booking ahead.
Reserve Your Telluride Airport Limo Before the Snow Flies
Peak ski weeks, Bluegrass and the Film Festival fill our TEX calendar months in advance, so the best time to lock in your vehicle is the day you book your flight. Reservations with Union Limousine take a few minutes online or by phone: share your flight or tail number, your hotel or residence address and your group size, and we will confirm the vehicle, the chauffeur and the all inclusive rate in writing. Round trips, multi day retainers and festival shuttle packages are all available through the same limo service desk that handles our airport pickups across Colorado. Book today and arrive on the mesa with the hard part already done.

Frequently Asked Questions
Explore our FAQs to learn more about our luxury fleet, professional chauffeurs, airport transfers, reservations, and private transportation services designed for a comfortable and seamless travel experience.
No. The airport authority has not authorized any rideshare company to operate at TEX, and unauthorized commercial vehicles can be towed. Pre booked chauffeur service, authorized local shuttles and rental cars are the available options, which is why most visitors reserve a ride before they fly.
About ten minutes in normal conditions. The route runs down Last Dollar Road to Colorado 145, then up to the gondola plaza and the Mountain Village hotels. Winter storms and festival traffic can add a few minutes, and your chauffeur will text an updated estimate if conditions change.
Yes. Every reservation is linked to the flight number, and dispatch follows the departure from Denver or Phoenix through the approach into the canyon. If the aircraft holds, diverts to Montrose or arrives early, the pickup time adjusts automatically and the chauffeur is repositioned without a phone call from you.
It can. Our executive Sprinters hold up to 14 passengers with rear cargo space sized for a full set of ski or snowboard bags plus suitcases. For groups with more gear than seats, we pair a Sprinter with an SUV so nothing rides in the aisle.
Dispatch moves your reservation to our Montrose team and sends a vehicle to MTJ, about 65 miles north. You pay the Montrose to Telluride rate that is quoted at booking, and the chauffeur meets you at the Montrose terminal with the same name sign and the same vehicle class.
A Sprinter van is the right call for ten people arriving together with luggage and camera gear. Groups that plan to move between screenings in town and events in Mountain Village often keep the same Sprinter on a daily retainer for the length of the festival.
Inside the passenger terminal, between baggage claim and the front door, holding a sign with your name. Private flyers are met at the FBO lobby. The vehicle is parked in the front lot a few steps away, warmed up in winter and loaded by the chauffeur.
Yes. From November through April every SUV and Sprinter we assign to TEX runs on winter rated or studded tires with all wheel drive, and chauffeurs check road conditions on Last Dollar Road and the Dallas Divide before each pickup. Chains are carried when a storm warning is in effect.
Reserve as soon as your flights are ticketed, ideally four to six weeks ahead for Christmas week, Presidents Day weekend and spring break. Sprinters and larger vehicles for festival weekends should be booked two to three months out, since the authorized fleet at TEX is small and sells out.
Absolutely. Round trip bookings cover the arrival pickup and the departure run, with the return time confirmed by text the night before. Many guests add a gondola or dinner transfer midweek, and all of it sits on one reservation with one dispatcher and one invoice.
