What we offer

Tyler Pounds Regional (TYR) Airport Limo Service

Rose Festival weekends, UT Tyler commencements, and lakeside weddings all begin at the terminal curb. Our Tyler Pounds Regional (TYR) Airport Limo Service moves groups of 2 to 56 in style and comfort.

Stretch Limo Service to and from Tyler Pounds Regional (TYR) Airport

Flights in and out of Tyler Pounds Regional Airport run on a tight regional timetable, and the ride that gets you to the terminal should run just as reliably. Our Tyler Pounds Regional (TYR) Airport limo service gives travelers across Texas, TX a chauffeured black car that is confirmed in advance, tracked against the American Eagle schedule, and positioned at the curb on Skyway Boulevard when the aircraft doors open. TYR is part of our wider Texas airport limo service coverage, and we bring the same standards to this four gate terminal that we bring to the busiest hubs in the state.

Union Limousine has built its name on punctual, discreet chauffeured travel since 1997, and East Texas passengers now count on us for executive transfers, medical appointments, family reunions, and group travel through the Rose City. Share your flight number, your pickup address, and your passenger count. We take care of everything after that.

Why Travelers Choose Our TYR Airport Limo Service?

A small airport rewards precision. With only a few departures a day, a late ride to the terminal can erase an entire afternoon of plans. Our limo service is built around that reality, with dispatch staff who watch every Tyler flight and chauffeurs who treat the Skyway Boulevard curb like their home base.

Flight Tracking and Curbside Timing

Our reservations desk follows every inbound and outbound flight at TYR in real time. If your connection out of Dallas/Fort Worth pushes your arrival back by forty minutes, your chauffeur adjusts without a single call from you. Waiting time caused by airline delays is never added to your fare, and early arrivals are met just as promptly.

Chauffeurs Who Know East Texas Roads

Our chauffeurs drive Loop 323, Toll 49, Highway 64, and South Broadway Avenue every week. They know where traffic stacks up near Broadway Square at rush hour, how the Rose Parade closes downtown streets each October, and the quickest approach to the terminal loop from Lindale, Whitehouse, or Flint. Every chauffeur is background checked, commercially licensed, and trained in airport curb etiquette, so pickups stay calm and unhurried.

  • Flat quoted pricing with no surge multipliers at peak hours
  • Complimentary bottled water, tissues, and phone chargers in every vehicle
  • Child seats and booster seats supplied on request at booking
  • Name board meet and greet inside baggage claim for arrivals
  • Reservations desk and live chauffeur contact available 24 hours a day

Our Fleet for Tyler Pounds Regional Airport Transfers

Every vehicle in our Texas fleet is late model, detailed before each run, and matched to your party size and luggage. Here is how we pair them with TYR travel:

  • Sedans (up to 3 passengers): Executive sedans for solo business travelers, couples, and physicians flying in for consultations, with ample trunk space for two large cases.
  • SUVs (up to 6 passengers): Full size SUVs for families, golf groups headed to Hollytree or Willow Brook, and executives who want extra legroom with room for luggage.
  • Stretch Limousines (up to 20 passengers): Classic stretch limousines for Rose Festival weekends, proms, anniversary celebrations, and VIP arrivals at the terminal.
  • Sprinter Vans (up to 14 passengers): Tall, walkable vans for wedding parties, surgical teams, and corporate groups moving together between TYR and downtown Tyler.
  • Party Buses (up to 30 passengers): Lounge seating, lighting, and sound systems for bachelor and bachelorette groups, birthday celebrations, and alumni reunions.
  • Mini Charter Buses (up to 35 passengers): Forward facing coach seating for church groups, youth sports teams, and conference delegations arriving on the same flight.
  • Full Size Charter Buses (up to 56 passengers): Motorcoaches with restrooms and underfloor luggage bays for university tours, large tour groups, and statewide transfers.

Occasions We Serve Around TYR

Corporate and Medical Travel

Tyler is the medical capital of East Texas. UT Health East Texas, CHRISTUS Mother Frances Hospital, and the UT Tyler School of Medicine draw physicians, visiting faculty, equipment specialists, and patients from across the region, and many of them arrive through TYR. We provide quiet, climate controlled sedans and SUVs for consultants connecting through DFW, gentle transfers for patients heading home after treatment, and dependable Smith County car service for recruiters bringing candidates to town for interviews.

Texas Rose Festival, Weddings, and Group Events

The 93rd Texas Rose Festival runs October 15 to 18, 2026, and the Queen's Coronation at the Cowan Center fills hotel rooms from Tyler to Longview. You can review the full event calendar on the Texas Rose Festival page from Visit Tyler. Stretch limousines and party buses handle the formal side of that weekend, and our Sprinter vans move wedding parties between the Tyler Rose Garden, downtown venues, and lakeside receptions on Lake Tyler and Lake Palestine. Union Limousine also places charter buses for alumni weekends at UT Tyler, youth tournaments at Rose Stadium, and church groups flying in for regional conferences.

Connecting Through DFW

Every commercial flight at TYR routes through Dallas/Fort Worth, and some travelers prefer to drive the two hour stretch of Interstate 20 and board at the hub directly. We make both plans simple. Book a TYR transfer for the regional hop, or reserve a chauffeured SUV straight to DFW when the timetable favors a direct departure. Either way, our limo service in Texas keeps the whole trip on one confirmation and one invoice.

Local Areas We Cover from Tyler Pounds Regional Airport

The terminal sits ten minutes west of downtown Tyler off Highway 64, one mile east of Toll 49 and a short drive west of Loop 323. From that spot our chauffeurs reach the South Broadway hotel corridor, Broadway Square, the Mosaic District, and the UT Tyler campus on University Boulevard within about twenty minutes; the university publishes its own campus maps and directions for visitors who want to preview the route. Our Tyler car service continues outward to Lindale, Whitehouse, Bullard, Flint, Chandler, Mineola, and Canton, and we regularly run longer transfers to Longview, Kilgore, Henderson, Jacksonville, Palestine, and Athens. Guests arriving for Lake Palestine fishing weekends, a day at the Caldwell Zoo, or the Azalea and Spring Flower Trail each March receive the same curbside pickup and flat quoted fare.

Tyler Pounds Regional (TYR) Airport Information

TYR is compact, modern, and easy to navigate, which is exactly why so many East Texans choose it for the first leg of a trip. The details below will help you plan your arrival and departure.

Airport Details

  • Airport Name: Tyler Pounds Regional Airport
  • Airport Code: TYR
  • Address: 700 Skyway Blvd, Tyler, TX 75704, United States

History and Regional Importance

The City of Tyler bought its first 93 acre tract for an airfield in June 1929 and dedicated Tyler Municipal Airport on June 28, 1930. The Army Air Forces took over the field in late 1942, built two paved runways and housing for 2,000 personnel, and renamed it Pounds Army Air Field in November 1943 in honor of Second Lieutenant Jack Windham Pounds, a Tyler native killed in a training crash. The airfield returned to civil use after the war, and the current name arrived with the $17.6 million terminal that opened on August 17, 2002. The FAA named the airport its Texas Airport of the Year for 2007, jet bridges were installed in 2008, and Runway 4/22 was extended to 8,333 feet in late 2018, long enough for corporate jets and large charter aircraft. Today the field anchors commercial air travel for Smith County and the surrounding counties, supports a busy general aviation community, and houses the Historic Aviation Memorial Museum inside the original terminal at 150 Airport Drive.

Airlines Operating from TYR

American Airlines is the only scheduled carrier at Tyler Pounds, flying under the American Eagle brand with regional jets operated by Envoy Air and SkyWest. The timetable typically offers two to three round trips a day, timed to feed morning and evening connection banks at the hub. The ticket counter closes 45 minutes before departure, and the airport recommends arriving two hours ahead of your flight.

Domestic Destinations

Dallas/Fort Worth International (DFW) is the single nonstop destination, roughly 40 minutes in the air. From DFW, American connects Tyler passengers to hundreds of domestic cities and international gateways on one ticket. Checked bags transfer automatically, so most travelers never handle their luggage again until they reach their final city.

Terminal Information

One passenger terminal serves the airport. The 2002 building doubled the footprint of the old terminal and holds the American ticket counter, a single TSA checkpoint, four gates with passenger boarding bridges, baggage claim, rental car counters, and food and beverage service. TSA PreCheck is honored at the checkpoint. General aviation and charter flights use the Jet Center of Tyler on the opposite side of the field.

Terminal Hours at a Glance

The terminal opens two hours before the first scheduled departure and closes one hour after the last inbound flight arrives. Those hours move with the American schedule, so confirm the day's flights before you leave home.

A Note on Check In Cutoffs

Once the counter closes 45 minutes prior to departure, bags can no longer be checked. Our chauffeurs build that cutoff into every pickup time, with a cushion on top for traffic on Loop 323.

Passenger Traffic

FAA records show 51,296 commercial boardings at TYR in calendar year 2024, which puts total airline passengers near 100,000 for the year, and the city reports roughly 150,000 passenger movements once general aviation and charter traffic are counted. July 2023 produced over 4,700 boardings in a single month, the strongest figure since the pandemic. Around 110 to 150 aircraft are based on the field, and total flight operations run close to 33,000 a year.

Parking Overview

Two public lots face the terminal, both within a short walk of the doors. The Long Term Lot charges $1 per hour with an $8 daily maximum, and the Short Term Lot charges $1 per hour with a $10 daily maximum. Accessible spaces are marked in both lots, disabled veterans park free after presenting documentation at the administration office, and a $75 lost ticket fee applies at the exit gates. Current rates and the lot map are posted on the airport parking and ground transportation page. Vehicles left in front of the building or in restricted lots are towed at the owner's expense.

Pick Up and Drop Off Guidance

The curb on Skyway Boulevard is for active loading only. For departures, your chauffeur stops at the ticketing doors, unloads your luggage, and sees you inside. For arrivals, your chauffeur waits inside baggage claim with a name board, helps with bags, and brings the vehicle to the curb once you are ready, so nobody stands in the Texas heat. Private flights are met directly at the Jet Center of Tyler ramp with prior notice.

Ground Transportation Options

Hertz, Enterprise, and National operate rental counters inside the terminal. Taxi service runs by phone arrangement through two local operators, and fixed route transit coverage at the terminal is limited; the Tyler Area MPO service providers page lists the bus and air carriers serving the region. Rideshare coverage thins noticeably before the first morning departure and after the last evening arrival, which is when most Tyler flights operate.

Tips for Arriving Passengers

  • Baggage claim is steps from the gates, so bags often appear within ten minutes of the door opening
  • Send your chauffeur a text once you are off the aircraft to time the curbside handoff
  • Keep your American confirmation handy in case a DFW delay changes your arrival time
  • Summer afternoons in Tyler regularly top 95 degrees, so plan on an air conditioned pickup
  • Rose Festival week and UT Tyler commencement weekends fill hotels fast, so reserve transfers early

Why a Prebooked Chauffeur Beats Taxis and Rideshare at TYR?

Taxis at Tyler Pounds must be arranged by phone, and rideshare drivers are scarce at dawn and late evening, exactly when the regional jets come and go. A prebooked chauffeur removes that uncertainty. Your vehicle is assigned the day before, your fare is fixed when you book, and your chauffeur is tracking your flight before it leaves DFW. Our TYR airport car service also carries commercial insurance, professional licensing, and a live dispatch desk, so a question at 5 a.m. reaches a real member of the Union Limousine team.

We recommend a pickup that puts you at the terminal two hours before departure, which matches the airport's own guidance. From downtown Tyler that usually means leaving two hours and fifteen minutes ahead; from Longview or Palestine, allow closer to three hours.

Yes. Every reservation includes live flight monitoring from the moment the aircraft departs DFW. Your chauffeur receives updated arrival times automatically and adjusts the pickup without any action on your part.

Your chauffeur waits inside baggage claim holding a name board. Once your bags arrive, the vehicle is brought to the Skyway Boulevard curb so you can load directly from the door.

Yes. Many clients book a chauffeured SUV or sedan for the Interstate 20 drive to DFW when a direct departure suits their schedule. The trip typically takes about two hours and is quoted as a flat fare.

No. Waiting time caused by airline delays is never billed. Your chauffeur simply shifts to the new arrival time and is at the terminal when you walk out.

A Sprinter van seats up to 14 with standing headroom for dresses and garment bags, and a stretch limousine seats up to 20 for the celebration itself. Larger groups move comfortably in a 30 passenger party bus.

Yes. Longview, Kilgore, Henderson, Lindale, Mineola, Canton, Jacksonville, Palestine, and Athens are all regular runs from TYR, each quoted as a fixed fare before you confirm.

Absolutely. Mini charter buses carry up to 35 passengers and full size coaches carry up to 56, with luggage bays sized for a full flight's worth of checked bags. Give us the flight number and the group size and we handle staging at the terminal.

Yes. Infant seats, forward facing seats, and boosters are installed before pickup when you note the ages of your children at booking. There is no extra charge for seat installation.

The terminal sits about ten minutes west of downtown Tyler on Highway 64, just outside Loop 323. The South Broadway hotel corridor and the UT Tyler campus are each roughly 20 minutes away in normal traffic.
