What we offer

Princeville (HPV) Airport Limo Service

Wedding parties, families, and charter flyers count on our Princeville (HPV) Airport limo service for sedans, Sprinter vans, and coaches built for Kauai's roads, with flight tracking and fixed quotes.

Stretch Limo Service to and from Princeville (HPV) Airport

Touching down at the small airfield above Kilauea puts you minutes from Hanalei Bay, the cliffs of Haena, and the quiet resort lanes of Princeville. Our Hawaii airport limo service meets that arrival with a licensed chauffeur, a spotless vehicle, and a fixed quote agreed before you ever leave home. Whether your helicopter tour ends at HPV or you are connecting from Lihue for a week on the North Shore, we handle the ride so the island can have your full attention.

Union Limousine has run chauffeured transportation since 1997, and our Kauai team brings that same discipline to a corner of Hawaii where taxis are scarce and cell coverage fades along the coast road. You get one point of contact, flight and tour tracking, and a car waiting at the curb when the rotors stop.

Private Chauffeured Rides From Princeville Airport Across Kauai

Kuhio Highway is the only road that links the North Shore with the rest of the island, and its one lane bridges near Hanalei reward drivers who know the rhythm of local traffic. Our chauffeurs know these roads well, so they plan around bridge queues, surf day crowds at Anini, and the afternoon rush toward Kapaa. Travelers who only need a simple sedan transfer can also book our Princeville airport car service for a lighter, budget friendly option.

Who Books Our HPV Limo Service?

  • Helicopter tour guests returning from a Na Pali Coast or Waimea Canyon flight who want a calm ride back to their rental home
  • Honeymoon couples staying at 1 Hotel Hanalei Bay, the Westin Princeville Ocean Resort Villas, or a private villa along the bluff
  • Wedding parties heading to ceremonies at Hanalei Pier, Anini Beach, or a garden venue in Kilauea
  • Executives and private aviation clients arriving on charter flights who expect discreet, punctual service
  • Families with surfboards, strollers, and beach gear who need room to spread out

History and Importance of the Airfield

Princeville Airport opened in 1977 as a quasi public general aviation field, and two commuter carriers once ran frequent daily hops from here. Its value showed in November 1983, when Hurricane Iwa struck Kauai and Lihue could not absorb every relief flight, so smaller aircraft carrying supplies landed on the North Shore strip. The State of Hawaii leased the field in 1994 with plans to fold it into the public airport system, then ended that lease in 1999. Today the airport remains a private gateway that spares North Shore visitors a long drive from Lihue.

Airlines and Operators at HPV

Scheduled airline service has come and gone over the decades. Island Air ended passenger flights in January 1997, and Makani Kai Air revived twice daily Honolulu service in May 2019 until its merger with Mokulele Airlines brought commercial flights to a halt. The main tenant now is Blue Hawaiian Helicopters, whose return to the airfield was marked by a grand reopening of Princeville operations in April 2023, complete with a new executive lounge. Private aircraft and air charter operators also use the runway.

Domestic Destinations and Connections

Because no airline currently sells scheduled seats out of HPV, most mainland and interisland travelers fly into Lihue and continue north by road or by air. Blue Hawaiian offers helicopter transfers between Lihue Airport and Princeville, and charter aircraft can reach Honolulu and the neighbor islands on request. For a full trip, we often pair an HPV pickup with our Lihue airport limo service so both legs run under one reservation.

Terminal Information

The terminal is a single low building built for small numbers of travelers. A recent remodel added an executive lounge used by tour and charter guests while they wait to board. Expect a short walk from the helicopter pad or aircraft parking to the front door, with staff guiding every movement on the ramp.

Passenger Traffic

State records show the field peaked at 27,943 passengers in 1994, then dropped to a few hundred annually after airline service ended. Current volume comes mostly from tour flights, which keeps the terminal quiet and the curb free of the congestion you find at larger hubs.

Parking Overview

A small surface lot sits beside the terminal for tour guests and private pilots. Spaces fill quickly during peak tour windows, so confirm availability with your operator before you drive. A chauffeured ride removes the question entirely.

Pick Up and Drop Off Guidance

  • Your chauffeur waits in the front loading area beside the terminal entrance
  • Tour guests receive a text the moment we see your flight land
  • For departures, we arrive at least 45 minutes before your check in time
  • Large groups meet their coach in the main lot, where buses can turn safely

Ground Transportation Options

HPV has no rental car counters or taxi stand, so a cab must be called ahead and may travel a long way to reach you. Rideshare drivers are thin on the North Shore, especially after sunset. Hotel shuttles serve only some properties. That leaves a reserved chauffeur as the most dependable way to reach Hanalei, Haena, or your resort.

Tips for Arriving Passengers

  • Share your tour operator, flight time, and lodging address when you book
  • Pack a light layer because North Shore showers arrive without warning
  • Keep your phone charged since signal can drop near Hanalei Valley
  • Ask your chauffeur about the one lane bridge schedule if you are heading west

Why a Pre Booked Chauffeur Works Better at HPV?

A reserved car is already waiting when you exit the terminal, priced in advance, with luggage space confirmed. Taxis and rideshare may take 30 minutes or longer to arrive from the East Side, and surge pricing climbs during busy afternoons. Your chauffeur also knows which resort gate to use, where wedding vendors unload, and how to time arrivals around beach parking limits.

North Shore Routes We Drive Every Week

From the airport, most trips head west toward Princeville and Hanalei or south toward Kapaa and Lihue. Our chauffeurs plan each route around tides, events, and road closures.

Popular Destinations From HPV

Hanalei, Haena, and the Na Pali Trailhead

Hanalei sits about 15 minutes west, with its pier, taro fields, and surf shops. Past Wainiha, the road ends at Kee Beach inside Haena State Park, where the Kalalau Trail begins.

Haena State Park Entry

Visitors without Hawaii residency need advance entry reservations, and daily parking slots often sell out weeks ahead.

Drop Off Planning for Haena

A chauffeured drop off at the park entrance still requires a valid entry reservation, so book your entry before you schedule the ride.

Kilauea and Anahola

Just east of the airport, Kilauea offers the historic lighthouse and seabird colonies at the Kilauea Point National Wildlife Refuge, which asks adult visitors to reserve entry online. Na Aina Kai Botanical Gardens and the beaches at Anahola are a short drive farther south.

Kapaa, Wailua, and Lihue

The Coconut Coast and the county seat are roughly 40 to 60 minutes away depending on traffic. Business travelers and cruise guests bound for Nawiliwili Harbor book these runs often.
