Kawaihapai (Dillingham) Air Field (HDH) Airport Limo Service
Film crews, wedding parties, and retreat groups book Kawaihapai (Dillingham) Air Field (HDH) Airport Limo Service in SUVs, Sprinter vans, and coaches, linking HNL arrivals with North Shore adventures.

Stretch Limo Service to and from Kawaihapai (Dillingham) Air Field (HDH) Airport
Out on the far western stretch of Oahu's North Shore, Kawaihapai Airfield sits between the Waianae Range and the open Pacific, about an hour from Waikiki and a long way from the nearest taxi stand. Union Limousine runs private chauffeured rides to and from this historic strip for skydivers, glider passengers, aviation tenants, and film crews who want a reliable car waiting at the gate. As part of our wider Hawaii airport limo service, every HDH booking comes with a licensed chauffeur, flight and jump schedule tracking, and a flat rate quoted before you ride.
Private North Shore Transfers to Kawaihapai Airfield
Farrington Highway ends past Mokuleia, so the airfield feels remote even though it sits on Oahu. Rideshare cars rarely wander this far west, and guests who arrive by tandem jump or glider flight often finish their activity tired, sunburned, and ready for a cold drink. We take the guesswork out of that last mile. Your chauffeur meets you at the operator's office or hangar, loads gear and bags, and drives you back to your hotel, villa, or next stop on the island.
Travelers who only need a simple point to point sedan can also book our dedicated HDH car service, while groups and celebrations step up to stretch limousines, Sprinter vans, and coaches.

History and Importance of HDH
The site began life as a military communications station in the 1920s and later took the Dillingham name in honor of Army Air Forces Captain Henry Gaylord Dillingham. The State of Hawaii started managing the airfield for general aviation in 1962, and the name Kawaihapai returns the land to its traditional place name. The U.S. Army still owns the property, and according to the official Kawaihapai Airfield website, the Hawaii Department of Transportation now operates it under a 50 year lease that runs through July 2074.
That lease followed years of uncertainty. When the state moved to end its agreement in 2020, the skydiving community rallied to save Dillingham Airfield, since no other Oahu airport can host jump operations. Today the 9,007 foot runway remains the island's home for skydiving and soaring.
Airlines and Domestic Destinations
HDH has no scheduled airline service and no commercial routes to other islands or the mainland. Activity comes from skydiving operators, glider rides, flight instruction, and private general aviation aircraft, along with Army helicopter training. Travelers flying in from the mainland or a neighbor island land at Honolulu first, and our Daniel K. Inouye International (HNL) limo service can link that arrival to an afternoon jump on the North Shore.
Terminal Information
There is no passenger terminal building, security checkpoint, or baggage claim. Each operator handles check in, waivers, and briefings from its own hangar office along the flight line, so your chauffeur needs the exact company name to find the right building.
Passenger Traffic
Because HDH carries no airline passengers, it does not report enplanement figures. Its traffic is measured in tandem jumps, glider flights, and training sorties, and weekends with clear trade wind weather draw the heaviest crowds of visitors.
Parking Overview
Parking at the airfield is informal, with gravel and unpaved lots beside the operator hangars. There is no garage, shuttle lot, or attendant, and space fills quickly on busy jump days, which is one more reason guests prefer to be dropped at the door.
Pick Up and Drop Off Guidance
Access runs through the airfield gate off Farrington Highway west of Mokuleia. General aviation hours are 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. from April through September and 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. from October through March. The Army has first priority on the runway and occasionally closes the field to civilian flights, including a scheduled closure from November 1 to November 16, 2026, so we confirm your activity before dispatch and meet you right outside your operator's office.
Ground Transportation Options
- No taxi stand or rental car counter operates at the airfield
- Rideshare availability this far west is limited, especially after sunset
- Public bus coverage near the airfield is sparse and slow for visitors with gear
- Rental cars must be collected in Honolulu, roughly 35 miles away
- Prebooked chauffeured transportation offers the most dependable door to door option
Tips for Arriving Passengers
- Allow extra time for weather holds, since jump loads often run late
- Bring a change of clothes, sunscreen, and water for waiting periods
- Share your operator name and booking time with your chauffeur
- Check for military closures on the official airfield site before your trip
- Keep valuables in the vehicle while you are in the air
Why a Prebooked Chauffeur Is Easier Than a Taxi or Rideshare?
A rideshare app may show no available drivers when you finish your jump, and calling a Honolulu taxi means a long wait and a steep return fare. With Union Limousine, the car is scheduled around your activity, the chauffeur stays reachable if your load slips, and the price is locked before you leave your hotel. Groups ride together in one vehicle, gear stays organized, and nobody has to drive home after an adrenaline filled afternoon.

Popular Routes From HDH Across Oahu
Most of our airfield trips connect the North Shore with resort areas on the south and west sides of the island.
North Shore Highlights
Haleiwa town sits roughly twenty minutes east, and many guests pair a jump with a garden walk and waterfall swim at Waimea Valley before dinner near Sunset Beach or Turtle Bay.
South Shore and Waikiki
The ride to Waikiki usually takes an hour to an hour and twenty minutes depending on traffic on H2 and H1, and we plan departure times around rush hour patterns.
West Side and Ko Olina
Resort guests staying at Ko Olina often fly smaller aircraft in and out of the nearby Kalaeloa field, and our Kalaeloa (JRF) limo service covers those transfers on the same island trip.
Timing Note
Sunset jumps finish after dark on the drive home, so we recommend booking the return leg along with the outbound ride.
Planning more stops beyond the airfield? Our full limo service in Hawaii covers weddings, island tours, cruise days, and resort transfers on every major island.
