What we offer

Gerald R. Ford International (GRR) Airport Limo Service

Wedding parties, sports teams and conference groups ride together in our stretch limos and coaches. The Gerald R. Ford International (GRR) Limo Service scales from one guest to fifty six at a set fee.

Stretch Limo Service to and from Gerald R. Ford International (GRR) Airport

Flights into Grand Rapids tend to arrive at awkward hours. The Chicago and Atlanta connections land late, and the Florida leisure routes push back before sunrise. A reserved chauffeur removes the guesswork at both ends of the trip. Our Michigan airport limo service covers every arrival and departure at Gerald R. Ford International, from a single executive sedan idling at the curb to a full size coach staged for a conference delegation. Union Limousine has operated chauffeured transportation since 1997, and GRR travelers across Michigan, MI receive that same standard: a confirmed vehicle, a professional driver who watches the flight, and a flat rate agreed before the wheels turn.

Why West Michigan Travelers Reserve Our GRR Limo Service?

Cascade Township sits about 13 miles southeast of downtown Grand Rapids, which sounds close until a lake effect squall rolls across Interstate 96 or a Van Andel Arena crowd lets out onto Fulton Street. Our chauffeurs drive these roads daily. They know when 28th Street backs up, which hotel entrances on Pearl Street handle luggage carts, and how long the Patterson Avenue ramp closures add to an airport run. That local knowledge is what turns a chauffeured limo service into a dependable part of your travel plan rather than another variable.

  • Flight monitoring on every GRR pickup, so a late inbound from Denver or Newark never leaves you searching for a ride
  • Flat, quoted pricing with tolls, fuel and gratuity options settled at booking, never adjusted by demand surges
  • Complimentary wait time built into airport pickups to cover baggage claim and the walk to the curb
  • Licensed, insured chauffeurs in professional attire who load luggage and open doors without being asked
  • Vehicles for one passenger or fifty six, all maintained to the same interior and mechanical standard
  • Round the clock dispatch, so a 4:40 AM departure to catch the first Orlando flight is handled as routinely as a midday pickup

Corporate accounts receive consolidated monthly invoicing, saved passenger profiles and the option to set approved pickup locations for visiting executives. Union Limousine also coordinates recurring airport runs for medical teams, touring productions and university athletic departments that move through GRR every week of the season.

Where We Take You From Gerald R. Ford Airport?

Most GRR passengers are headed somewhere specific within an hour of the terminal, and our Michigan limo service is built around those destinations. Whether you are in town for a trade show, a hospital consult, a lakeshore wedding or a family visit in the suburbs, the chauffeur already has the route planned before your plane touches down.

Downtown Grand Rapids and the Medical Mile

The core downtown run takes 20 to 25 minutes in normal traffic. We deliver guests to the Amway Grand Plaza, the JW Marriott on the river, DeVos Place Convention Center, Van Andel Arena and the restaurants along Monroe Center. The Medical Mile on Michigan Street brings in surgeons, researchers and pharmaceutical representatives who need a quiet ride to Corewell Health campuses, the Van Andel Institute or the Michigan State University College of Human Medicine. For those travelers, the sedan becomes a rolling office between the terminal and the first meeting.

Ada, East Grand Rapids, Kentwood and the Suburbs

Amway's headquarters in Ada sits roughly 12 miles north of the airport, and the campus receives international visitors nearly every weekday. We also serve the neighborhoods of East Grand Rapids around Reeds Lake, the office parks of Kentwood and Cascade along 28th Street and Broadmoor Avenue, Forest Hills, Rockford and the growing employment corridor near Gerald R. Ford Freeway exits in Walker and Grandville. Many of these trips are residential pickups for departing flights, where a chauffeur arriving ten minutes early is the detail that matters most.

Lakeshore Towns: Holland, Grand Haven and Muskegon

Lake Michigan beach communities depend on GRR as their gateway. Holland is about 40 minutes west along Interstate 196, Grand Haven and Spring Lake sit roughly 45 minutes out, and Muskegon is close to an hour. Summer brings Tulip Time visitors, wedding parties booked at waterfront venues and vacation rental guests arriving with coolers and paddleboards. Our SUVs and Sprinter vans carry the extra gear, and the flat lakeshore rate stays the same whether the trip happens on a quiet Tuesday or the Fourth of July weekend.

Kalamazoo, Lansing and Longer Transfers

GRR often has the better fare or the only nonstop, so passengers drive in from well beyond Kent County. We run regular transfers to Kalamazoo and Portage, including families bringing students to Western Michigan University, as well as Battle Creek, Lansing and East Lansing, Big Rapids, Mount Pleasant and Traverse City. When a connecting itinerary changes, we can also reposition travelers between airports; our MBS International Airport car service handles the Saginaw and Midland corridor, and Detroit Metro, Kalamazoo/Battle Creek, Muskegon County and Capital Region International in Lansing are all within our regular transfer range.

Our Fleet for Gerald R. Ford International Airport Transfers

Every vehicle below is dispatched from the same reservation system, so a company can book a sedan for the CEO and a coach for the sales team in one request. Capacities listed are passenger counts; luggage space varies, and our reservation team will recommend a larger vehicle when golf bags, snowboard bags or trade show crates are involved.

Executive Vehicles

Luxury Sedans (1 to 3 Passengers)

Full size luxury sedans with leather seating, climate control and trunk space for two large suitcases plus carry ons. Ideal for solo business travelers, couples heading downtown and executives who want a quiet cabin for calls between GRR and the Medical Mile.

Premium SUVs (1 to 6 Passengers)

Three row SUVs with raised seating and generous cargo space. The right choice for families with car seats, small teams sharing one ride, winter arrivals who appreciate all wheel drive on snowy lakeshore roads, and anyone traveling with sports equipment or extra luggage.

Group and Celebration Vehicles

Stretch Limousines (8 to 20 Passengers)

Classic stretch limousines with wraparound seating, fiber optic lighting, a bar area and privacy partition. Reserved for wedding parties arriving for lakeshore ceremonies, milestone birthdays, bachelor and bachelorette weekends and VIP welcomes for visiting dignitaries or recruits.

Sprinter Vans (8 to 14 Passengers)

Tall ceiling Sprinter vans with captain's chairs, USB charging and rear luggage racks. Corporate teams flying in for Amway or Steelcase meetings, youth sports squads, church groups and multi family vacation parties use them to keep everyone, and every bag, in one vehicle.

Party Buses (14 to 30 Passengers)

Limo style buses with perimeter seating, sound systems, LED lighting and coolers. Popular for brewery tours along the Beer City Ale Trail, Griffins and Whitecaps game nights, prom and graduation celebrations, and wedding guest shuttles between GRR hotels and reception venues.

Charter Coaches

Mini Charter Buses (20 to 35 Passengers)

Forward facing coach seating, overhead storage, underfloor luggage bays and onboard restrooms on most units. Suited to conference attendees arriving in waves at DeVos Place, college visit groups, company retreats to Boyne or Crystal Mountain and regional tour operators.

Full Size Charter Buses (36 to 56 Passengers)

Full motorcoaches with reclining seats, climate control, restrooms, Wi Fi and capacity for a full flight's worth of luggage. Chosen by ArtPrize tour groups, athletic teams, large wedding parties and corporate incentive trips that need every passenger moved together from the terminal.

Gerald R. Ford International (GRR) Airport Information

Knowing the layout before you arrive makes the handoff to your chauffeur quicker. The following details come from the airport authority and are current as of our latest review; always confirm specifics on the official site before travel.

  • Airport Name: Gerald R. Ford International Airport
  • Airport Code: GRR
  • Address: 5500 44th St SE, Grand Rapids, MI 49512, United States
  • Phone: +1 616 233 6000
  • Official Website: https://www.grr.org/

History and Regional Importance

Commercial aviation in Grand Rapids moved to the present Cascade Township site in 1963, when the field opened as Kent County Airport. It was renamed in 1999 to honor Gerald R. Ford, the 38th President of the United States, who represented West Michigan in Congress for 25 years. Since 2016 the airport has been managed by the Gerald R. Ford International Airport Authority, an independent body that has overseen the fastest growth period in the facility's history. GRR is now the second busiest airport in Michigan, and the authority estimates it supports roughly 40,000 regional jobs and above $7 billion in annual economic activity across furniture manufacturing, health care, higher education and tourism.

Airlines Operating from GRR

Eight passenger carriers serve the airport: Allegiant, American Airlines, Avelo Airlines, Delta Air Lines, Frontier Airlines, Southwest Airlines, Sun Country Airlines and United Airlines. Delta and United are the dominant legacy carriers, feeding their hubs in Detroit, Minneapolis, Atlanta, Chicago, Newark, Denver and Houston. Allegiant, Avelo and Sun Country concentrate on leisure routes to Florida, the Carolinas and the Southwest, several of which operate seasonally.

Domestic Destinations

GRR offers nonstop service to over 35 U.S. cities. Year round markets include Chicago O'Hare, Detroit, Minneapolis St. Paul, Atlanta, Charlotte, Dallas Fort Worth, Denver, Newark, Washington Dulles, Houston, Orlando, Tampa, Fort Myers, Phoenix and Las Vegas. Seasonal and leisure flights add Myrtle Beach, Sarasota, Punta Gorda, St. Petersburg, Fort Lauderdale, Raleigh Durham, Lakeland, Austin, Nashville and Baltimore among others. The airport has no scheduled international flights, although a federal inspection station is part of the long term expansion plan.

Terminal Information

GRR operates a single two level terminal. Ticketing, security screening and the Marketplace concessions area occupy the upper level, while baggage claim, ground transportation and the Visitor Information Desk sit on the lower level along one straight curb. Two concourses branch from the central hall: Concourse A, which was expanded in 2023 and 2024 to roughly 15 gates and is used mainly by Delta and United, and Concourse B, which serves American and the remaining carriers. A 2026 terminal enhancement added expanded ticket counters and a consolidated baggage inspection system on the west end, and the new consolidated rental car facility opened in summer 2026 with an enclosed sky bridge from the terminal.

Passenger Traffic

The airport served a record 4,303,696 passengers in 2025, its third consecutive annual record after 4.17 million in 2024 and 3.79 million in 2023. July is consistently the busiest month, and the Thanksgiving to New Year stretch regularly moves close to 200,000 travelers. Growth at this pace is why pickups during school breaks and summer weekends should be reserved well ahead.

Parking Overview

Four public parking areas serve the terminal. The Short Term Garage charges $2 per hour with no daily maximum and is meant for quick visits. The Long Term Garage, connected to the terminal by covered walkways, runs $2 per hour up to $24 per day with a vehicle height limit of 8 feet 2 inches. The North Lot costs $2 per hour up to $17 per day and is reached on foot through the garage. The Economy Lot is the lowest priced option at $2 per hour up to $14 per day and is the only lot served by a shuttle. A free cell phone lot lets drivers wait for arriving passengers without entering the garage.

Pick Up and Drop Off Guidance

Departing passengers are dropped at the upper level curb outside their airline's ticket counter. Arriving passengers exit on the lower level, where numbered doors lead to a boulevard with separate shelters for each type of transportation. The airport's ground transportation guide assigns Door 4 to rideshare and hotel shuttles, Door 5 and Door 7 to the taxi shelter, and the shelter across from Door 6 to the Rapid Route 27 bus.

Where Our Chauffeurs Wait?

For standard curbside pickups, your chauffeur confirms the door number by text once the flight lands and pulls into the commercial vehicle lane as you step outside. Because our drivers monitor the arrival in real time, the vehicle is timed to your actual landing, never the scheduled one.

Meet and Greet at Baggage Claim

First time visitors, elderly travelers and executives who prefer assistance can request a meet and greet. The chauffeur waits inside the lower level near the carousels holding a name sign, helps with luggage and escorts you to the vehicle. Meet and greet includes additional complimentary wait time to account for checked bags.

Large Groups and Charter Coaches

Groups arriving on Sprinter vans, mini coaches or full size buses are staged in the commercial loading area rather than the passenger curb. We coordinate the staging position with airport operations ahead of time and send a lead coordinator to gather the group near baggage claim. Teams of 15 and up flying into GRR generally book through our Michigan airport charter bus service, while mid size parties of 8 to 14 usually find our Sprinter van service the better fit.

Ground Transportation Options

Beyond private chauffeurs, GRR passengers can choose Metro Cab, the only taxi operator authorized for curbside pickup, Uber and Lyft from the Rideshare Shelter, courtesy shuttles run by about 18 airport area hotels, and the Rapid's Route 27 bus to downtown, which operates on weekdays only at a $1.75 cash fare. Seven rental car brands operate from the consolidated facility. Greyhound coaches depart from downtown Grand Rapids rather than the airport.

Tips for Arriving Passengers

Text your chauffeur as soon as the cabin door opens; GRR gates are a short walk from baggage claim and bags often appear within 15 minutes. From November through March, check the Grand Rapids forecast from the National Weather Service before departure, since lake effect snow bands can slow the 44th Street and Interstate 96 approaches even when the runways are clear. Travelers continuing north or west can check construction and closure updates from the Michigan Department of Transportation to understand why a chauffeur may route around US 131 on a given day. Keep medications and chargers in a carry on, and if you are being picked up by a group coach, follow the coordinator rather than heading to the curb on your own.

Why a Prebooked Chauffeur Beats Taxis and Rideshare at GRR?

Rideshare availability in Grand Rapids thins out late at night and during snow events, which is exactly when the last United and Delta arrivals come in. Surge pricing can double a downtown fare with no warning, and drivers unfamiliar with the Door 4 shelter sometimes cancel rather than circle the boulevard. A taxi line moves faster but still depends on whoever happens to be waiting. A reservation with Union Limousine fixes the price in advance, assigns a specific chauffeur who has already reviewed your flight number and destination, and guarantees a vehicle sized for your party and luggage. For lakeshore and Kalamazoo transfers, the difference is larger still, since many app drivers decline trips of 45 minutes and longer out of the metro area.

For curbside pickups, the chauffeur texts you a door number after landing and waits in the commercial vehicle lane on the lower level boulevard. If you request a meet and greet, the chauffeur stands inside near baggage claim with a name sign.

Sedans and SUVs can usually be confirmed with 24 hours of notice, and often less outside peak periods. Stretch limousines, Sprinter vans and coaches should be reserved one to two weeks ahead, and holiday or ArtPrize weekends sell out earlier.

Yes. Every airport pickup is tied to your flight number, and dispatch adjusts the chauffeur's arrival automatically. An early landing or a two hour delay does not change your quoted rate or require a call from you.

Rates are quoted as a flat fee based on vehicle type and destination rather than a running meter. A sedan to the downtown hotel district is priced as a short transfer, and the amount you are quoted at booking is the amount you pay, with no surge adjustments.

We regularly move conference delegations, sports teams and wedding parties with mini coaches seating up to 35 and full size motorcoaches seating up to 56. A coordinator meets the group at baggage claim and the coach is staged in the commercial loading area.

Airport pickups include a complimentary wait window that covers deplaning and baggage claim. Additional waiting beyond that window is billed in increments at the rate shown on your confirmation, and our team will always notify you before any extra time is applied.

Infant, convertible and booster seats are available on request for sedans, SUVs and Sprinter vans. Let us know the age and weight of each child when booking so the correct seat is installed before the chauffeur arrives at the terminal.

Yes. Lakeshore transfers to Holland, Saugatuck, Grand Haven, Spring Lake and Muskegon are among our most common longer runs. They are priced as flat rate trips, and SUVs or Sprinter vans are recommended for beach gear and larger groups.

Our dispatch operates around the clock every day of the year, including Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year's. Late night arrivals from the West Coast and pre dawn departures for Florida are handled at the same rates and standards as daytime trips.

A sedan holds two large suitcases plus carry ons, an SUV carries four to five checked bags, and Sprinter vans and coaches have dedicated luggage areas sized for every passenger's checked bag. Tell us about oversized items such as golf clubs or skis when you book.
