What we offer

Pellston Regional (PLN) Airport Limo Service

Golf groups, wedding parties and corporate teams rely on our Pellston Regional (PLN) Airport Limo Service for shared rides across northern Michigan in Sprinter vans, stretch limos, and larger coaches.

Stretch Limo Service to and from Pellston Regional (PLN) Airport

Northern Michigan starts the moment you step off the jet at Pellston. Our Pellston Regional (PLN) Airport Limo Service puts a licensed chauffeur at the Emmet County terminal before your flight touches down, so the ride to Petoskey, Harbor Springs, Mackinaw City or Boyne City begins without a wait. Union Limousine runs this route as part of a wider Michigan airport limo service that covers arrivals at every commercial field in the state, and the same booking desk, flight tracking and chauffeur standards apply whether you land in Detroit or at the quiet lodge style terminal in Pellston.

Pellston sits about 20 miles from the Mackinac Bridge, the Petoskey waterfront and the Harbor Springs resorts, which makes it the natural arrival point for summer cottage season, fall color weekends, ski trips to Nub's Nob and the Highlands, and the executive travel that follows the region's resort developers and hospital systems. Our chauffeurs know the routes along US 31, US 131 and Interstate 75 well, including the stretch to the ferry docks where timing against a boat departure matters.

Why Travelers Choose Our Pellston Airport Limo?

A regional airport with two gates and a handful of daily flights rewards a very specific kind of ground transportation. Ride apps are thin on the ground around Pellston, and the local taxi count is small, so travelers who arrive without a plan often find themselves waiting in the terminal lobby. Union Limousine takes that risk off the table with a confirmed reservation, a named chauffeur and a vehicle that is already parked outside the doors when the Delta Connection jet arrives from Detroit.

  • Flight tracked pickups: we watch the inbound Delta and United Express flights and adjust the meeting time for every delay or early arrival.
  • Meet and greet inside the terminal: your chauffeur waits at baggage claim with a name sign and handles the luggage to the vehicle.
  • Fixed pricing by route: a quote to Petoskey, Charlevoix or St. Ignace is final at booking, with no surge or meter.
  • Ferry and resort timing: we plan Mackinaw City runs around the Mackinac Island ferry schedule and resort check in windows.
  • All weather readiness: winter arrivals get SUVs and chauffeurs who are used to lake effect snow on the US 31 corridor.

Travelers who want a sedan or SUV without the limousine label can book the Pellston Regional (PLN) Airport car service on the same account, and corporate clients who need an hourly driver for a day of meetings in Petoskey or Gaylord can arrange a chauffeur service in Michigan through the same reservation team.

Our Fleet for Pellston Regional Airport Transfers

Every vehicle below is available for arrivals and departures at PLN, with the right choice depending on headcount, luggage and the occasion.

Sedans (Up to 3 Passengers)

Executive sedans suit a single traveler or a couple arriving for a Bay Harbor stay, a hospital consultation in Petoskey or a corporate visit to a resort developer. Leather seating, climate control and a quiet cabin make the 25 to 40 mile runs comfortable.

SUVs (Up to 6 Passengers)

Full size SUVs carry a family with golf bags, ski gear or a week of cottage luggage. They are the vehicle we recommend from November through March for the drive to Harbor Springs or Indian River.

Stretch Limousines (Up to 20 Passengers)

Stretch limousines are the choice for wedding parties landing in Pellston ahead of a Bay Harbor or Boyne ceremony, milestone birthday groups headed to the Petoskey waterfront and bachelor or bachelorette weekends bound for Mackinaw City.

Sprinter Vans (Up to 14 Passengers)

Sprinter vans give a golf foursome times three, an extended family or a small corporate team room to stretch out, with high ceilings and a rear luggage bay that handles clubs and coolers without a trailer.

Party Buses (Up to 30 Passengers)

Party buses keep a large group together for a wedding shuttle loop between the airport, the hotel and the venue, a brewery tour through Petoskey and Charlevoix or a late night return from a Mackinaw City event.

Mini Charter Buses (Up to 35 Passengers)

Mini coaches serve conference groups meeting at a Harbor Springs resort, youth sports teams flying into PLN for a tournament and church or school trips to Mackinac Island.

Full Size Charter Buses (Up to 56 Passengers)

Full size motorcoaches handle corporate retreats, reunions and tour operators who bring a full charter flight or a large Delta load into Pellston and need every seat covered for the trip to the Straits area.

History and Regional Importance

Pellston Regional Airport is owned by Emmet County and sits on 1,675 acres about one mile northwest of the village of Pellston at an elevation of 720 feet. It serves as the main commercial airport for the northern tip of the Lower Peninsula, a role that grew out of decades of federal EAS program support that has kept scheduled jets flying to Detroit through several carrier changes. The current terminal replaced a smaller building in 2003 and was designed with a northern lodge character, complete with timber beams and three stone fireplaces, so that visitors know they have arrived up north before they reach the parking lot. The airport's catchment stretches well beyond Emmet County's population of roughly 33,800 residents, drawing seasonal homeowners, resort guests and business travelers from Cheboygan, Charlevoix and Mackinac counties.

Airlines Operating from PLN

  • Delta Connection (operated by SkyWest Airlines): year round regional jet service to Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County (DTW), typically three departures and three arrivals per day.
  • United Express (operated by SkyWest Airlines): seasonal summer service to Chicago O'Hare (ORD), launched in May 2025 on 50 seat CRJ 200 jets under a federal EAS contract.
  • Cargo: Ameriflight links Pellston with Lansing and Sault Ste. Marie, and FedEx Feeder operates to Grand Rapids.

Domestic Destinations

Scheduled passenger flights connect PLN to two hubs. Detroit is the busiest link by a wide margin, with roughly 20,300 passengers on the route in the twelve months ending June 2026, and Chicago O'Hare added about 8,700 passengers during its first full season. Through those two hubs, Pellston travelers reach Delta and United networks across the country, which is why we see arrivals from Florida, Texas, the East Coast and the West Coast every week of the summer.

Terminal Information

The single passenger terminal covers about 35,000 square feet and holds check in, ticketing, the TSA checkpoint, two gates and baggage claim on one level. Hoppies Landing, a full service restaurant on the second floor, has an observation deck over the airfield, and wireless internet is free throughout the building. The county's page on airport facilities lists the conference and meeting rooms that corporate groups sometimes use before a chauffeur drive to Petoskey.

General Aviation and the FBO

General aviation accounts for well over 80 percent of the roughly 12,000 annual aircraft operations at Pellston, and the FBO offers fuel, crew lounges, snooze rooms, showers and a courtesy shuttle. There is no crew car, and the airport advises private aviation arrivals to arrange ground transportation in advance, which is exactly where our chauffeur meets you planeside or at the FBO door.

Passenger Traffic

Pellston handled about 56,200 arriving and departing passengers in the twelve months ending July 2026, close to its 2019 total of 57,420, with the summer Chicago flights lifting the numbers back toward prepandemic levels. Traffic peaks sharply from late June through Labor Day and again during the fall color weeks of early October, which is when advance limo reservations matter most.

Parking Overview

Both short term and long term parking at PLN are free, and the lot sits a short walk from the terminal doors. Rental cars from Avis and Budget are available at counters near baggage claim, though the counters keep weekday hours of 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and require a phone call for pickups outside that window. Travelers landing on an evening Delta flight or a weekend often find a prebooked chauffeur simpler than coordinating an after hours rental.

Pick Up and Drop Off Guidance

The terminal has one main entrance with a curbside lane directly outside baggage claim. For arrivals, your chauffeur waits inside at baggage claim and walks you to the vehicle, which is parked in the lot steps from the door. For departures, we drop you at the same curb and recommend arriving at least 90 minutes before a Delta or United Express flight, which matches the TSA guidance posted by the airport for its single checkpoint.

Ground Transportation Options

Beyond rental cars, the airport lists taxis, the Mackinaw Shuttle to the ferry docks, aircraft charters and private car services. Rideshare coverage around Pellston is sparse and unreliable after dark. Our limo service in Michigan fills that gap with vehicles sized for one passenger or fifty six, and large groups arriving on the same flight can reserve a Michigan airport Sprinter van service so nobody splits across multiple cars.

Tips for Arriving Passengers

  • Confirm your pickup city at booking: Petoskey, Harbor Springs, Mackinaw City and St. Ignace all lie about 20 to 25 miles out, and the direction matters for routing.
  • Share your ferry departure time if you are headed to Mackinac Island so we can build in a buffer at the Mackinaw City docks.
  • Pack for the season: the terminal is warm, but the walk to the vehicle in January is outdoors.
  • Keep your chauffeur's number handy; cell coverage is strong at the airport and along US 31.

Winter Travel Note

Lake effect snow can close US 31 and Interstate 75 for short stretches between December and March, and the airport has paused operations during the heaviest storms. Our dispatch team watches road conditions and flight status together and will move your pickup earlier or later as needed.

Straits Area Routing

Rides to St. Ignace and the Upper Peninsula cross the Mackinac Bridge, where high wind restrictions occasionally slow traffic. We factor bridge conditions into every northbound quote.

Why a Prebooked Chauffeur Beats Taxis and Rideshare at PLN?

At a large hub, a traveler can gamble on a rideshare queue. At Pellston, the queue may not exist. A prebooked chauffeur means a vehicle committed to your flight, a price fixed before you leave home, a driver who knows the resort entrances and ferry docks, and no scramble when a Delta flight lands 40 minutes late at 10 p.m. For groups, the math is even simpler: one Sprinter van or coach replaces four or five taxis that may never show.

Local Areas and Venues We Serve from Pellston Airport

The Straits of Mackinac, where Lake Michigan meets Lake Huron, anchor the geography of every ride out of PLN. The USGS Great Lakes Science Center studies these waters, and the shoreline towns they shape are where most of our passengers are headed: Petoskey and its Gaslight District, Harbor Springs and the Highlands ski resort, Bay Harbor and its golf and yacht club, Mackinaw City and the ferry docks for Mackinac Island, and Indian River and Burt Lake for cottage country. Farther out, we run to Boyne City and Boyne Mountain, Charlevoix, Gaylord, Cheboygan and across the bridge to St. Ignace and Sault Ste. Marie.

Travelers comparing airports should know that Cherry Capital in Traverse City is about 90 minutes southwest, Chippewa County International near Sault Ste. Marie is roughly 75 miles north, and Alpena County Regional sits across the peninsula to the southeast. Our limo service covers all of them, so a party arriving at two different fields can still share one itinerary.

About 20 miles north along US 31 and Interstate 75, which takes roughly 25 to 30 minutes in a chauffeured sedan or SUV. We time these rides to match ferry departures when you are continuing to Mackinac Island.

Yes. We monitor every inbound Delta Connection flight from Detroit and every seasonal United Express flight from Chicago O'Hare, and your chauffeur's arrival time moves with the aircraft, at no extra charge for delays.

At baggage claim, which is on the same level as the two gates. Your chauffeur holds a sign with your name, helps with luggage and walks you to the vehicle parked a few steps from the main doors.

Absolutely. We drop at the Mackinaw City docks or drive across the bridge to the St. Ignace docks, and we can hold luggage or return you to the airport after your island stay.

Yes. Harbor Springs is about 20 miles from the airport, and we serve the Highlands, Nub's Nob, Boyne area lodging and private homes along the Little Traverse Bay shoreline in sedans, SUVs and stretch limousines.

A Sprinter van carries up to 14 golfers with full bags, while two or three foursomes with light luggage fit comfortably in an SUV pair. Larger outings headed to Bay Harbor or Boyne can book a mini coach.

Yes. Boyne City is about 36 miles and Charlevoix about 40 miles from Pellston, and both are common drops for resort guests, wedding parties and summer homeowners. Quotes are fixed at booking.

Plan to leave about two hours before departure. The drive takes 25 to 35 minutes depending on the season, and the airport recommends arriving at least 90 minutes ahead for its single TSA checkpoint.

Yes. We assign SUVs with winter tires from November through March, and our dispatch team watches road closures on US 31 and the Mackinac Bridge alongside your flight status so your pickup adjusts in real time.

We do. Union Limousine meets private and charter flights at the FBO or planeside with advance notice, which the airport itself recommends since there is no crew car on the field.
