What we offer

Range Regional (HIB) Airport Limo Service

Sun Country charter groups and winter travelers pick Range Regional (HIB) Airport Limo Service for all wheel drive SUVs, Sprinter vans and coaches staged curbside at the Hibbing terminal, every month.

Stretch Limo Service to and from Range Regional (HIB) Airport

Step off the morning Delta Connection from Minneapolis and your chauffeur is already waiting beside baggage claim, name sign raised, before the regional jet finishes taxiing to the gate. Union Limousine operates a Minnesota airport limo service shaped around small terminals like Range Regional (HIB), where the Delta desk opens for a few hours each day, the parking lot costs nothing, and the closest rideshare driver may be forty minutes away in Virginia or Grand Rapids. We handle arrivals, departures, and door to door transfers across the Mesabi Range for mining executives, Fairview Range medical visitors, Bob Dylan fans on pilgrimage, and families flying home for the holidays.

This page explains how our Range Regional Airport limo service works, which vehicles we send to Hibbing, the towns and venues we reach from the terminal, and the airport details worth knowing before you fly. Every limo service reservation is confirmed ahead of time with a fixed quote, so an Iron Range transfer costs the same whether it snows or the afternoon flight runs late.

Why Iron Range Travelers Book Our HIB Limo Service?

Range Regional sits off Highway 37 southeast of Hibbing with two Delta departures on a typical day. A schedule that thin rewards precision, and precision is what we sell. Each booking comes with:

  • Live tracking on every Delta Connection arrival, so a late inbound from MSP shifts your pickup automatically with no waiting charge.
  • Chauffeurs who know the Range road network: Highway 169 north to Chisholm and Virginia, Highway 37 west toward Grand Rapids, and the Beltline approach into Hibbing.
  • All inclusive pricing quoted at booking, with fuel, gratuity, and airport waiting time already counted.
  • Winter ready vehicles, including all wheel drive SUVs and Sprinter vans assigned on storm days from November through April.
  • One dispatch number that answers before, during, and after the ride, 24 hours a day.

HIB Airport Limo Service for Arrivals, Departures, and Groups

Arrivals: Met Inside the Terminal

With Delta flights touching down around 10:15 AM and 3:00 PM, we station your chauffeur inside the terminal near baggage claim, only a few steps from the gate area. The Enterprise and ACAR rental counters sit in the same spot, so the meeting point is impossible to miss. Bags are loaded in the front drive lane and you are rolling toward Highway 37 within minutes. Travelers who prefer a plain executive sedan without limousine styling can reserve our HIB airport car service on identical terms.

Departures: Timed to the Delta Desk Hours

The Delta service desk at HIB keeps limited hours, roughly 9:15 to 11:15 AM every day and 1:15 to 4:15 PM Thursday through Monday, so arriving late at the terminal can mean a missed check in. We schedule your pickup from Hibbing, Chisholm, Virginia, Eveleth, or Grand Rapids to place you at the counter with time to spare, and we add a cushion whenever the forecast calls for snow on Highway 169.

Sun Country Charters and Group Travel

Range Regional also hosts Sun Country charter departures to Laughlin, Nevada, several times a year on 180 seat jets that sell out. Casino groups, wedding parties flying to Minneapolis, and hockey teams heading out of state ride together in our Sprinter vans, party buses, and motorcoaches. Ask about Minnesota airport charter bus pricing when your party grows past fourteen travelers.

Our Fleet for Range Regional Airport Transfers

Every vehicle we dispatch to HIB is late model, detailed before each run, and driven by a licensed, background checked chauffeur. Choose by headcount and luggage:

  • Sedans (up to 3 passengers): executive sedans for mining consultants, Fairview Range physicians, and individual flyers connecting through MSP. Two large suitcases fit with room to spare.
  • SUVs (up to 6 passengers): full size SUVs with all wheel drive, ideal for families carrying ski gear to Giants Ridge or hunting parties with cased firearms and coolers.
  • Stretch Limousines (up to 20 passengers): prom nights at Hibbing High School, anniversary dinners at Mesaba Country Club, and wedding parties greeting guests at the terminal.
  • Sprinter Vans (up to 14 passengers): crews rotating onto Hibbing Taconite projects, bridal parties, and extended families arriving on the same Delta flight.
  • Party Buses (up to 30 passengers): bachelor and bachelorette weekends, Fortune Bay casino runs, and milestone birthdays that begin curbside at HIB.
  • Mini Charter Buses (up to 35 passengers): corporate retreats, Hibbing Community College athletic teams, and church groups traveling to Minneapolis connections.
  • Full Size Charter Buses (up to 56 passengers): conference delegations, Sun Country charter groups, and reunion travel across northern Minnesota.

Where We Drive from Range Regional Airport?

Hibbing, Chisholm, and the Mesabi Range

Hibbing is the largest community on the Mesabi Range, and most HIB rides start or end there. Our chauffeurs deliver guests to the Hampton Inn on 9th Avenue West, lodging along Howard Street, and private homes from the Beltline to North Hibbing. Visitors with an hour to spare often request a detour to the Hull Rust Mine View on McKinley Street, the overlook locals call the Grand Canyon of the North, which welcomed an estimated 30,000 visitors in 2025. The Greyhound Bus Museum on Greyhound Boulevard, Bob Dylan's childhood home on 7th Avenue East, and the Hibbing Historical Society Museum round out the itineraries the Iron Range Tourism Bureau recommends. Chisholm, ten minutes north on Highway 169, is home to the Minnesota Discovery Center and shares the airport authority with Hibbing.

Virginia, Eveleth, Grand Rapids, and the Wider Range

Past the Hibbing city limits, we cover the Quad Cities corridor of Virginia, Eveleth, Gilbert, and Mountain Iron, plus Biwabik for Giants Ridge, Tower for Fortune Bay Resort Casino, and Ely for Boundary Waters outfitters. Westbound, Highway 37 and Highway 2 carry us to Grand Rapids and Bemidji. Many clients also book one way transfers between HIB and Duluth International Airport, about 75 miles southeast, or the three hour run to Minneapolis Saint Paul when weather grounds the regional jets. Our limo service in Minnesota reaches every county in the state on the same booking terms.

Winter Travel Note

Snow arrives early on the Range and lingers into April. Our dispatch team watches MnDOT road reports for Highways 169, 37, and 53, assigns all wheel drive SUVs and vans on storm days, and adjusts pickup times when plows are still clearing the terminal access road. If Delta cancels your flight, we move the reservation to the rebooked departure at no charge.

Range Regional (HIB) Airport Information

Union Limousine chauffeurs work HIB often enough to know its rhythms, and the details below come from the airport authority, the Bureau of Transportation Statistics, and local reporting. Use them to plan your own arrival.

A Brief History and Why HIB Matters

Credit for the airport goes to R.F. "Shorty" Davis, an automotive instructor at Hibbing Junior College who bought a Waco biplane in 1927, opened a flying school in 1928, and purchased the 160 acre tract where the field still sits. The Hibbing Municipal Airport was dedicated on July 4, 1931, before a crowd reported at 25,000, and the Works Progress Administration built its first permanent hangar in 1940. Wisconsin Central Airlines began scheduled service in 1948, later becoming North Central, Republic, and Northwest before the 2008 merger brought Delta to the Range. Hibbing and Chisholm formed a joint airport commission in 1958, the state created the Chisholm Hibbing Airport Authority in 1994, and the facility adopted the Range Regional name in 2010 to reflect the regional market it had served for decades. Today HIB is the Mesabi Range's only airport with scheduled airline service, and it also hosts Life Link III air medical flights, DNR aerial fire suppression crews, a seaplane base, and a Titan FBO fueling facility for general aviation.

Airlines and Domestic Destinations

Scheduled passenger service is operated by SkyWest Airlines as Delta Connection, with regional jets flying to Minneapolis Saint Paul International roughly twice a day, about twelve flights a week. The hop takes a little over an hour, and MSP opens Delta's full domestic and international network. In mid 2025 the afternoon rotation moved to a 3 PM arrival and 4 PM departure, giving Range passengers earlier connections in Minneapolis. Sun Country Airlines adds charter flights to Laughlin, Nevada, six of them in 2025. No other carrier serves HIB, so Duluth (DLH) and Bemidji (BJI) are the nearest alternatives when the Delta schedule does not fit.

Terminal Information

The current commercial terminal was dedicated on December 10, 2015, replacing a 1970s building of roughly 8,900 square feet with a 21,000 square foot facility designed to feel like the Northwoods. Arriving passengers follow a river motif from the gate to baggage claim, passing the mounted bear that greeted travelers in the old building. The gate area holds the passengers of two flights at once, and TSA screening, Delta ticketing, baggage claim, and the Enterprise and ACAR rental counters all share a single level. Terminal hours run 4:30 AM to 9:00 PM daily, the general aviation facility opens 4:00 AM to midnight, and the Airport Authority office keeps weekday business hours.

Passenger Traffic

Range Regional recorded 12,535 enplanements in 2025, up from 11,302 in 2024. Delta Connection boardings rose about 10 percent to 11,471, and Sun Country charter boardings grew 19 percent to 1,064. Airport leadership credits the improved connection times at MSP for much of the gain, and the authority expanded the terminal parking lot after several years of steady growth earlier in the decade.

Parking Overview

Parking at HIB is free for airport customers with no time limit, a rare perk among Minnesota airports. The parking information published by the Chisholm Hibbing Airport Authority asks travelers to notify the office for stays beyond 14 days, to leave the front row one hour spaces for quick pickups, and to request permission before parking trailers, campers, or oversized vehicles. Nothing may park near the east side vehicle gate, the west side loading dock, or the hydrants in front of the terminal. Rental cars use signed spaces between the terminal and the general aviation building.

Pick Up and Drop Off Guidance

Loading and unloading happen in the two drive lanes directly in front of the terminal doors, and vehicles must stay attended while they wait. Our chauffeurs pull into the lane as your bags come off the carousel, and for departures we unload curbside so you walk straight to the Delta counter. Anyone meeting a passenger privately can use the signed one hour spaces in the front row of the lot.

Ground Transportation Options

Besides private chauffeurs, HIB offers two in terminal rental counters, Enterprise and ACAR Auto Rental, a local taxi operator, and Shubat Transportation vans for larger groups. Public transit comes from Arrowhead Transit, whose Hibbing Dial a Ride serves the airport for $3 one way on weekdays from 6 AM to 6 PM and on weekends from 9 AM to 4:30 PM, with $5 weekday routes to Virginia and Grand Rapids and a Monday run to Ely. Rides must be scheduled by phone, and the agency itself notes that fixed schedules may not line up with flight times. Uber and Lyft coverage on the Range is thin, and the airport does not list rideshare among its options.

Tips for Arriving Passengers

  • Carry a REAL ID compliant license or a passport; the airport posts current TSA identification rules on its Before You Fly page.
  • Security lines are short and staffed by local TSA officers, so arriving an hour before departure is usually plenty, with extra time on Sun Country charter days.
  • The Delta desk closes between its morning and afternoon windows; confirm the hours before heading in for a rebooked flight.
  • Cell coverage is solid at the terminal. The drive toward Ely or the Boundary Waters loses signal fast, so confirm pickup details before leaving the airport.
  • Dress for the climate. Hibbing winters can reach 20 below, and the terminal lot is fully exposed to the wind.

Why a Prebooked Chauffeur Beats Taxis and Rideshare at HIB?

Small airports punish improvisation. A single taxi company serves Hibbing, rideshare drivers rarely wait at the terminal, and Dial a Ride needs an advance phone booking inside limited hours. A prebooked chauffeur removes every one of those variables: the vehicle is confirmed, the price is fixed, the driver tracks your flight, and a late arrival on the 3 PM rotation simply moves your pickup. For medical travelers bound for Fairview Range, consultants on a tight site schedule, or anyone arriving in a snowstorm, that certainty is the whole point.

About five miles. The terminal sits southeast of town on Highway 37 near US 169, and the drive to Howard Street takes roughly ten minutes in normal conditions. Chisholm is about fifteen minutes north and Virginia about thirty.

Yes. Dispatch follows every SkyWest flight from Minneapolis in real time. If the 10 AM or 3 PM arrival runs late, your chauffeur's pickup time moves with it, and no waiting fee applies to airline delays.

Beside baggage claim, next to the Enterprise and ACAR rental counters, holding a sign with your name. The gate, screening area, and baggage belt all share one level, so the walk is under a minute.

Absolutely. Duluth International is about 75 miles southeast, roughly ninety minutes by car, and Minneapolis Saint Paul is close to three hours. Both are popular one way transfers when a Delta flight cancels or the schedule does not fit.

Rideshare coverage on the Iron Range is sparse and the airport does not list it as an option. One local taxi company, Arrowhead Transit Dial a Ride, and rental counters are available, which is why most travelers reserve a chauffeur in advance.

Sprinter vans for up to 14, party buses for up to 30, mini coaches for up to 35, and full size motorcoaches for up to 56. We stage multiple vehicles for large casino groups and coordinate curbside loading with the airport.

Plan on 35 to 40 minutes of driving in clear weather and add 20 minutes when snow is in the forecast. We schedule the pickup so you reach the Delta desk during its open window with time to check bags.

Yes. All wheel drive SUVs and Sprinter vans are assigned on storm days from November through April, and chauffeurs monitor MnDOT conditions on Highways 169, 37, and 53 before every run.

Yes. Round trips to Biwabik, Tower, Ely, Grand Rapids, and any other Range destination are quoted as a single fixed price, and we hold the return pickup time even if your plans shift by a few hours.

Delays are handled automatically through flight tracking. If Delta cancels, tell dispatch your rebooked flight and we move the reservation at no charge, including a next day pickup when the airline puts you up overnight in Minneapolis.
