What we offer

Lee’s Summit Municipal (LXT) Airport Limo Service

Game day groups, wedding parties and families count on our Lee’s Summit Municipal (LXT) Airport Limo Service for sedans through 56 seat coaches, with flight tracking and flat rates across Kansas City.

Stretch Limo Service to and from Lee’s Summit Municipal (LXT) Airport

Private aircraft touch down at Kansas City Lee’s Summit Regional Airport every day of the week, and the people stepping off them expect a chauffeur already standing in the Summit Aero lobby. Our Lee’s Summit Municipal (LXT) Airport Limo Service delivers exactly that for executives, families and event groups throughout Missouri, MO. As one branch of our Missouri airport limo service, we follow inbound tail numbers, greet passengers at Hangar 2 on NE Hagan Road and carry them to any address in the Kansas City metro in a spotless, late model vehicle.

LXT sits in eastern Jackson County about 16 miles southeast of downtown Kansas City, which puts it closer to Arrowhead Stadium, Kauffman Stadium, Unity Village and the Interstate 470 corporate corridor than either of the region’s larger airports. Union Limousine has built this page for travelers who want that proximity to pay off the moment the aircraft door opens: a chauffeur who knows the field, a vehicle sized for the party and a flat quote agreed before anyone boards.

Why Missouri, MO Travelers Book Our LXT Airport Limo Service?

General aviation fields work differently from commercial terminals. There is no baggage carousel, no taxi rank and no arrivals board for a driver to watch. Our dispatch team solves that by coordinating directly with the FBO, confirming the estimated time of arrival with the flight crew and positioning the chauffeur on the Summit Aero ramp side entrance before wheels touch the runway. Passengers walk off the aircraft, through the lobby and straight into a vehicle with the climate already set.

  • Flight tracking on every private, charter and fractional arrival into KLXT
  • Chauffeurs who are familiar with Hangar 2, the self serve fuel island and the east side apron layout
  • Flat rate pricing to Kansas City, Overland Park, Independence, Blue Springs and every Lee’s Summit neighborhood
  • Complimentary wait time for business aviation arrivals when the crew updates us on delays
  • Vehicles detailed between every trip and stocked with bottled water
  • Round the clock reservations and live phone support for crews and schedulers

Our Missouri limo service runs the same standard at every airport in the state, so a scheduler who already uses us at Lambert or Kansas City International will recognize the process at LXT immediately. One account, one invoice format and one phone number cover the whole trip.

Trips We Handle From Kansas City Lee’s Summit Regional Airport

Corporate and Business Aviation Transfers

Roughly seven out of ten movements at LXT are business related, and that share is exactly where our sedans and SUVs earn their keep. A chauffeur meets the aircraft, loads briefcases and sample cases, and drives to the Lee’s Summit Economic Development Council offices, the Summit Technology Campus on NW Chipman Road, the office parks along NE Douglas Street or any downtown Kansas City tower. Executives can take a call in a quiet cabin and arrive without having touched a steering wheel or a parking ticket.

Game Day and Event Transportation

Owners and guests flying in for Chiefs and Royals games choose LXT because the Truman Sports Complex is a short run up Interstate 470 and Interstate 70. Our stretch limousines, Sprinter vans and party buses carry tailgate groups from the FBO to the stadium lots and back to the aircraft after the final whistle, with the chauffeur handling parking passes and gate timing. The same vehicles cover concerts at T Mobile Center, shows at the Kauffman Center for the Performing Arts and events at the Kansas City Convention Center.

Weddings, Reunions and Family Celebrations

Families flying relatives in for a wedding at Longview Mansion, a reunion at Legacy Park or a graduation at the Missouri Innovation Campus can book a single vehicle or an entire motorcade. We coordinate arrival times across several inbound flights so everyone departs the airport together in one charter bus, sparing the host a string of separate car trips.

Medical and Hospital Connections

Saint Luke’s East Hospital on NE Independence Avenue and the Lee’s Summit Medical Center on SW Blue Parkway are both within a short drive of the airport. We provide patient and family transfers in roomy SUVs with low step heights, and we hold the vehicle at the hospital for return trips when asked.

Where We Drive From LXT Across Missouri, MO?

Lee’s Summit is one of the fastest growing cities in the state, and the airport sits on its north edge with quick access to Missouri Route 291, US Route 50 and Interstate 470. From the FBO, Union Limousine chauffeurs reach downtown Lee’s Summit in about ten minutes, Summit Woods Crossing and the SummitWoods retail district in fifteen, and the Country Club Plaza in roughly half an hour outside rush hour.

Leisure travelers often head straight for the water. Jackson County Parks and Recreation operates Longview Lake with its beach, marina and campground only a few miles southwest of the field, while Lake Jacomo and Blue Springs Lake inside Fleming Park lie just to the northeast. We also run regular trips to Powell Gardens in Kingsville, Unity Village, Lake Lotawana, Raymore, Belton, Grandview, Greenwood and Pleasant Hill, plus the neighboring cities of Independence and Blue Springs.

Business travelers rely on our Missouri airport chauffeur service for hourly bookings that keep a vehicle and driver on call between appointments. A typical day might begin at the Summit Aero lobby, move to a supplier in Olathe or Lenexa, continue to a lunch in Overland Park and finish back at the hangar for an evening departure, all on one reservation.

Connections to Other Kansas City Area Airports

Crews and passengers sometimes need to reposition. Kansas City Downtown Airport, Wheeler Field, is about 20 miles northwest by road, Johnson County Executive Airport in Olathe is around 25 miles west, and Kansas City International Airport is a little over 40 miles away on the north side of the metro. Our chauffeurs handle airport to airport transfers daily, which lets a passenger arrive by private jet at LXT and leave on a commercial flight from MCI the same afternoon without renting a car.

Kansas City Lee’s Summit Regional Airport (LXT) Information

Brief History and Importance

City planners first identified Lee’s Summit as a suitable site for a general aviation airport in the 1960s. The City began studying a small private strip on land owned by Bill McComas in 1974, bought it in 1977 and renamed it McComas Lee’s Summit Municipal Airport. Land purchases, hangar construction and taxiway work followed over the next two decades, and in 1996 the City set a goal of extending the north to south runway from just over 4,000 feet to 5,500 feet to attract corporate aircraft.

That extension took nearly twenty years of planning, environmental review and funding compromises. Construction finally began in October 2015, and the City celebrated the opening of Runway 18/36 at 5,501 by 100 feet in September 2017. The same program lengthened the crosswind runway, thickened the pavement and earned the $18 million project a regional Transportation Project of the Year award. Operations grew about 80 percent between 2010 and 2024, and on September 11, 2025 the City formally rebranded the field as Kansas City Lee’s Summit Regional Airport, with the FBO renamed Summit Aero. The FAA identifier LXT and the ICAO code KLXT did not change.

Airlines Operating From LXT

No scheduled passenger airline serves LXT. The airport is a public use general aviation facility owned by the City of Lee’s Summit, and traffic consists of corporate jets, turboprops, piston aircraft, flight training, air ambulance and charter operators. Summit Aero, the city owned FBO, is an Avfuel and CAA preferred location that provides Jet A and 100LL fueling, mobile fuel trucks, maintenance, avionics, catering, aircraft detailing and concierge arrangements for visiting crews.

Domestic Destinations

Because every flight is private, the destination list is set by the aircraft owner. The 5,501 foot grooved concrete runway supports light and midsize business jets, so nonstop flights to Chicago, Dallas, Denver, Houston, Nashville, Atlanta, Phoenix and both coasts are routine. Charter brokers favor LXT for Kansas City trips because the ramp is uncongested, the fuel is competitively priced and the Interstate 470 loop is minutes from the gate.

Terminal Information

LXT does not have a conventional airline terminal. Passengers use the Summit Aero facility inside Hangar 2, a heated community hangar of roughly 50,000 square feet that opened with a ribbon cutting on November 13, 2025. It houses a passenger lobby, pilot lounge, flight planning room, concierge desk, observation deck and the Summit Tech Aerospace Academy operated with the Lee’s Summit R 7 School District. Hangar 2 can shelter aircraft with wingspans up to 115 feet and tail heights up to 27 feet. Hangar 1, a 40,000 square foot heated building, provides overnight and monthly aircraft storage.

The City broke ground on a 12,500 square foot passenger terminal next to Hangar 2 in late 2025 as part of the east side development in the airport master plan. Until it opens, all passenger services run through the Hangar 2 lobby at 2740 NE Hagan Road.

Official Airport Website

Current rates, hangar availability and NOTAMs are posted on the official airport website maintained by the City of Lee’s Summit.

Passenger Traffic

As a general aviation field, LXT does not report airline enplanements. City presentations in 2024 showed total operations up about 80 percent since 2010, and the airport manager has described roughly 70 percent of movements as business related. Game weekends for the Chiefs and Royals bring a visible spike in jet arrivals, as do major conventions downtown and the summer events calendar at Longview Lake. The new runway length, the parallel taxiway and the two heated hangars were all built to absorb that growth.

Parking Overview

Vehicle parking at LXT is free. A surface lot beside Hangar 2 serves passengers, crews and visitors, and overnight parking is permitted for pilots who base aircraft on the field. There are no garages, shuttles or paid lots, which is one reason many travelers prefer a chauffeur at the door over leaving a personal vehicle on the lot for a week. Aircraft parking is available on the ramp, in T hangars rented through the City waitlist and in heated guest hangar space billed per night.

Pick Up and Drop Off Guidance

Our chauffeurs stage in the passenger lot outside Hangar 2 and meet arriving clients inside the Summit Aero lobby holding a name board. With advance permission from the FBO we can also drive onto the ramp for planeside loading, which is helpful for mobility limited travelers, VIP clients and groups with heavy luggage. For departures we recommend arriving at the FBO 15 to 20 minutes before the planned wheels up time; the crew will usually have the aircraft fueled and the cabin ready.

Ground Transportation Options

Lee’s Summit has no fixed route public bus service to the airport, and rideshare coverage at the field is thin, especially early in the morning and late in the evening. Amtrak’s Missouri River Runner stops at the Lee’s Summit station on SW Main Street in the historic downtown, about five miles south of the hangars, with service to Kansas City Union Station and St. Louis. Rental cars can be arranged through the Summit Aero concierge, though availability on short notice is limited. A reserved chauffeur remains the most dependable way to leave the airport on schedule.

Tips for Arriving Passengers

  • Share the aircraft tail number and the crew’s cell number when booking so we can track the flight directly
  • The FBO closes at 8 p.m.; arrivals after hours should be arranged with Summit Aero ahead of time, and we will be there regardless
  • Historic Downtown Lee’s Summit on Main Street is ten minutes away and makes an easy first stop for dinner, the Fourth Fridays art walk or the farmers market
  • Visitors to the Missouri Innovation Campus of the University of Central Missouri at 1101 NW Innovation Parkway are about a ten minute drive from the airport
  • Winter ice storms can slow Interstate 470 and Route 291; add buffer time between November and March
  • No customs facility exists at LXT, so international arrivals must clear at MCI or another port of entry first

Why a Prebooked Chauffeur Beats Taxis and Rideshare at LXT?

A general aviation airport rewards planning. Taxis do not queue at Hangar 2, and a rideshare request from the hangar lot can sit unanswered for twenty minutes while the nearest driver finishes a trip in Blue Springs. Surge pricing on game days and during storms adds to the uncertainty. A reserved chauffeur, by contrast, is already parked outside when the aircraft taxis in, knows which door the FBO uses and has the route to the hotel or stadium loaded. For corporate travelers whose time is billed by the hour, and for families coordinating several arriving flights, that certainty outweighs any fare difference. Union Limousine builds every LXT reservation around it.

How to Reserve Your Ride at LXT?

  • Send the arrival date, estimated time, tail number and passenger count by phone or online form
  • Choose a vehicle class and receive a flat quote that includes tolls, fuel and standard wait time
  • Receive the chauffeur’s name, photo and cell number the evening before the flight
  • Walk out of the Summit Aero lobby and into a waiting vehicle; adjustments for delays are handled automatically

Groups that need a Missouri Sprinter van service for crews or a full coach for a company retreat follow the same four steps, and our coordinators can split a large arrival across several vehicles so nobody waits on the ramp.

Inside the Summit Aero passenger lobby in Hangar 2 at 2740 NE Hagan Road. The chauffeur holds a name board, helps with luggage and walks you to the vehicle in the adjacent lot. Planeside pickup on the ramp can be arranged through the FBO in advance.

Yes. Airport to airport transfers between LXT and MCI, Wheeler Field or Johnson County Executive are a daily request. The run to MCI takes about 50 to 60 minutes depending on traffic on Interstate 435 and Interstate 29, and we time the pickup to your commercial check in window.

We do. Give us the tail number or the charter operator’s trip reference and our dispatchers follow the flight from departure to touchdown. If the crew diverts or holds, the chauffeur’s arrival time moves with the aircraft at no extra charge.

Downtown Kansas City is about 20 miles northwest, typically a 30 to 35 minute drive via Interstate 470 and Interstate 70. The Truman Sports Complex, home of Arrowhead and Kauffman stadiums, is roughly 12 miles away and takes 15 to 20 minutes outside event traffic.

Yes. Sprinter vans seat up to 14, mini charter buses up to 35 and full size motorcoaches up to 56, all with luggage space. For groups arriving on several aircraft we can stage multiple vehicles on the same reservation.

Absolutely. Both lakes are within a 15 minute drive of the airport. We regularly carry wedding guests to Longview Mansion, golfers to Fred Arbanas Golf Course and families to the Longview Lake and Blue Springs Lake beaches and campgrounds.

Sedans and SUVs can often be confirmed with two to three hours of notice. Stretch limousines, party buses and charter buses are best reserved 48 hours ahead, and Chiefs game weekends and holiday periods fill earlier.

Yes. Infant, convertible and booster seats are installed on request at no charge. Let us know the ages and weights of the children when booking so the right seats are fitted before the chauffeur leaves for the airport.

We do. Hourly bookings keep a vehicle and chauffeur with you for meetings, site visits, shopping at Summit Woods Crossing or an evening out, then return you to the FBO for departure. Minimum durations vary by vehicle class.
