What we offer

Brownsville South Padre Island International (BRO) Airport Limo Service

Resort guests bound for South Padre Island get a chauffeur at Brownsville South Padre Island International (BRO) Airport Limo Service, flat rates, luggage help, and a quick 30 minute ride to the sand.

Stretch Limo Service to and from Brownsville South Padre Island International (BRO) Airport

Flights into the Rio Grande Valley deserve a welcome that matches the destination. Our Brownsville South Padre Island International (BRO) Airport limo service places a licensed chauffeur at the curb of the newest passenger terminal in deep South Texas the moment your bags reach the carousel. Union Limousine has delivered chauffeured transportation since 1997, and the standard we hold at the largest hubs applies to every reservation at BRO. Travelers who want the same reliability at other fields can book our Texas airport limo service for any commercial airport in the state.

Chauffeured Arrivals and Departures at BRO

BRO sits about five miles east of downtown Brownsville on Amelia Earhart Drive, roughly 30 minutes from the beaches of South Padre Island and a few minutes from the Gateway International Bridge into Matamoros. We monitor every inbound flight from Dallas/Fort Worth, Houston Intercontinental, Monterrey, and Orlando, adjusting your pickup time whenever the airline changes the schedule. Travelers compare several providers before settling on a limo service in Texas, and the deciding factor is usually consistency: a confirmed vehicle, a named chauffeur, and a fixed rate agreed before the ride begins.

Who Books a BRO Airport Limo?

  • Beach travelers headed to South Padre Island resorts, Port Isabel marinas, and condos along Padre Boulevard
  • Engineers, contractors, and media crews visiting Starbase near Boca Chica
  • Executives calling on the Port of Brownsville, aerospace suppliers, and the Brownsville industrial corridor
  • Families connecting through Dallas or Houston who want a stroller friendly SUV waiting outside baggage claim
  • Wedding parties, quinceañera groups, and spring break crowds who need one vehicle for everyone
  • Medical travelers bound for Valley Baptist Medical Center or clinics tied to the UTRGV School of Medicine

Texas Service Area Covered From Brownsville

Our chauffeurs cover Cameron County in both directions and continue to Harlingen, San Benito, Los Fresnos, Laguna Vista, and McAllen. We also run longer transfers up U.S. 77 toward Kingsville, Corpus Christi, and San Antonio for travelers whose itinerary ends well past the Valley. Visitors who begin on the coast can review the island transportation notes published by the South Padre Island Convention and Visitors Bureau, then let us handle the ride from the terminal to the sand. Groups staying in Harlingen may also find our Valley International (HRL) Airport limo service useful when an itinerary splits between two airports.

History and Importance of the Airport

Brownsville was the original air gateway between the United States and Mexico. Pan American Airways opened Ford Trimotor service from Brownsville to Mexico City in 1929, and Charles Lindbergh flew the inaugural leg on March 9 of that year while a crowd of 20,000 waited on the field. Amelia Earhart attended the celebration, which is why the main road in front of the terminal carries her name. During World War II the field became Brownsville Army Air Field, home to pilot training, engine overhaul lines, and the first American jet engine test flight. The airport took its current name in 1983, opened a modern terminal in 2021, and placed a Starship SN8 flap on public display in March 2022 as a nod to the launch complex down the road. In September 2025 the City of Brownsville announced a newly enhanced runway built to support larger aircraft and future routes.

Airlines Operating From BRO

Four carriers currently serve BRO. American Eagle (operated by Envoy and SkyWest) flies regional jets to Dallas/Fort Worth several times a day. United Express connects to Houston Intercontinental with Embraer regional jets. Aerus operates Cessna Grand Caravan flights to Monterrey, and in October 2025 Aerus and Viva Aerobus announced an alliance that expanded connections across Mexico through BRO. Breeze Airways joined the lineup on May 15, 2026, with year round nonstop flights to Orlando on Mondays and Fridays.

Nonstop Destinations

  • Dallas/Fort Worth (DFW), American Eagle, multiple daily departures
  • Houston Intercontinental (IAH), United Express, multiple daily departures
  • Orlando (MCO), Breeze Airways, Mondays and Fridays
  • Monterrey (MTY), Aerus, daily international service

Terminal Information

BRO operates a single 91,000 square foot terminal that opened in 2021 to replace the crowded older building. All airlines share one ticketing hall, one TSA checkpoint, and one baggage claim, so meeting a chauffeur never involves guessing which concourse to use. Jet bridges were upgraded with a $1.6 million FAA grant, and the airport added The Hub business workspace, the BRO Playport children's area, a nursing room, and Cactus Brew Coffee as the first post security cafe in October 2025. Indoor wayfinding runs through the GoodMaps app, and Global Entry and SENTRI enrollment offices sit on the premises. Our limo service team keeps a terminal map on file so first time visitors know exactly where to walk after security.

Passenger Traffic

The FAA counted roughly 319,000 total passengers and 25,603 aircraft operations at BRO in 2024, placing it among the primary commercial service airports in Texas. Traffic has climbed since the new terminal opened, helped by the Aerus alliance with Viva Aerobus and the Breeze Airways route to Orlando. The airport also hosts the National Weather Service forecast office for deep South Texas and two fixed base operators for private and corporate aviation.

Parking Overview

Two surface lots face the terminal. Short term parking charges $2 for the first hour and tops out at $12 per day, and the long term lot (expanded in 2024) charges $1.50 for the first hour with an $8 daily maximum. Both lots give the first 30 minutes free, which works well for anyone dropping off a traveler. Payment is accepted at the kiosk inside the terminal or at the exit lane with cash, major cards, or tap to pay, and a lost ticket carries a $50 fee. U.S. veterans receive up to seven days of complimentary parking with valid ID. Full details appear on the airport's parking rates page.

Pickup and Drop Off Guidance

Arrivals and departures share one curb in front of the terminal. Our chauffeur waits in the short term lot during the free window, then pulls to the curb the moment you text that your bags are in hand. For departures, we recommend reaching the terminal 90 minutes before a domestic flight and two hours before the Aerus flight to Monterrey, since international check in closes earlier.

Meet and Greet Inside Baggage Claim

Request a meet and greet and your chauffeur will stand inside baggage claim with a name sign, help with luggage, and walk you to the vehicle. This option is popular with first time visitors, elderly travelers, and executives who prefer a fully escorted arrival.

Ground Transportation Options

Rental counters for Avis, Budget, Enterprise, and the Hertz family of brands (which returned to BRO in 2026) sit inside the terminal. Taxis and rideshare drivers load from a signed zone outside arrivals, and City of Brownsville bus service reaches the airport on a limited schedule. Each of these works for some trips, yet none of them guarantees a vehicle sized for your group at the exact minute your flight lands.

Tips for Arriving Passengers

  • Sunscreen and water matter in every season; Brownsville summers run well above 95 degrees
  • Hurricane season lasts June through November, so share your flight number with us for proactive rescheduling
  • Carry a passport if your plans include Matamoros, and allow extra time at the bridge on weekends
  • SENTRI and Global Entry holders can complete enrollment interviews at the airport office
  • Mobile signal fades on the road to Boca Chica, so confirm pickup details before leaving the terminal
  • Spring break (March) and Charro Days (late February) fill vehicles fast; reserve early

Why a Prebooked Chauffeur Wins Over Taxis and Rideshare?

BRO is a compact airport with a short taxi line, and rideshare coverage thins out after the last evening arrival from Houston. A prebooked chauffeur removes the gamble: the vehicle is assigned before you board, the rate is fixed with no surge pricing, and a late flight simply shifts your pickup time. Luggage help, child seats, and group sized vehicles are confirmed in advance. For travelers who want a lower cost alternative to a stretch limousine, our BRO airport car service delivers the same chauffeur standard in an executive sedan or SUV.

Nearby Airports, Venues, and Local Areas

Valley International Airport (HRL) in Harlingen lies about 30 miles northwest, McAllen International (MFE) about 60 miles west, and Matamoros International (MAM) directly across the river. Popular stops for arriving guests include Gladys Porter Zoo, the Sabal Palm Sanctuary, the Port Isabel Lighthouse, Isla Blanca Park, and Resaca de la Palma State Park, a birding refuge on the Rio Grande delta. Residents and visitors who need rides anywhere in the county can rely on our Cameron County car service for the same chauffeurs who handle airport work.

The drive from the terminal to the Queen Isabella Causeway runs about 25 miles along State Highway 48 and Highway 100. Most transfers take 30 to 40 minutes outside of spring break and summer weekends.

Curbside pickups happen directly outside the single baggage claim exit. If you add a meet and greet, your chauffeur waits inside baggage claim holding a sign with your name.

Yes. We monitor every flight number you give us, including American Eagle from Dallas/Fort Worth and United Express from Houston, and the chauffeur adjusts automatically when arrival times change.

Absolutely. Starbase is about 22 miles east of the airport on Highway 4. We schedule the ride around published road closures so your visit lines up with launch or test activity.

Yes. Transfers to Harlingen, San Benito, and Valley International Airport are quoted as flat rates confirmed before the trip, with no mileage surprises or surge pricing.

A party bus carries up to 30 passengers with room for luggage, and a mini charter bus seats 35 with underfloor bays. Both board at the terminal curb with one chauffeur for the whole group.

We suggest arriving 90 minutes before the Monday or Friday Orlando departure. From South Padre Island that means leaving your resort about two and a half hours before takeoff.

Infant, convertible, and booster seats are available on request at the time of booking. Tell us the ages of the children so we install the correct seats before the chauffeur leaves for the airport.

Yes. Split itineraries are common in the Valley, and the ride between BRO and Harlingen takes about 40 minutes. We schedule a buffer so you reach the second airport with time to spare.

Chauffeurs load and unload every bag, and for trips to Matamoros we drop you at the Gateway International Bridge pedestrian entrance or coordinate with a Mexican partner service on the other side.
