What we offer

West Houston (IWS) Airport Limo Service

Groups arriving at IWS on multiple aircraft stay together in our Sprinter vans and charter coaches, with ramp side loading, luggage bays for Galveston cruises, and one chauffeur team on every leg too.

Stretch Limo Service to and from West Houston (IWS) Airport

Private flights into West Houston Airport deserve ground transportation that matches the aircraft waiting on the ramp. Union Limousine provides Texas airport limo service at IWS for executives, flight crews, families, and groups who want a chauffeur standing at the FBO entrance the moment the cabin door opens. The airport sits on Groschke Road in the Addicks and Park Ten area, within a short drive of the Energy Corridor, Memorial City, CityCentre, and the City of Katy, and we cover every one of those destinations along with the full Houston region and statewide trips across Texas, TX.

Our IWS airport limo service runs around the clock because general aviation keeps its own schedule. Corporate jets touch down at 2 a.m. after a late board meeting in Dallas, medical charters arrive mid afternoon, and oilfield teams fly in from Midland on a Friday evening. Whatever the hour, a licensed chauffeur in a detailed vehicle will be positioned at the hangar or FBO you specify, with your name on a placard and your luggage already accounted for.

Travelers across Texas rely on our limo service in Texas for the same reasons they rely on a private terminal: discretion, punctuality, and a quiet space to work or decompress. Every reservation at West Houston Airport is confirmed in writing, every chauffeur passes background screening and defensive driving training, and every vehicle carries full commercial insurance.

History and Importance of West Houston Airport

The field opened in 1962 as a graded strip called Memorial Skyland, laid out by Stephen Cummings and his partner on farmland west of the city. Flight instructor Woody Lesikar arrived in 1966, bought the one aircraft flight school, and built Skyline Aviation into a training, rental, and charter business that anchored the airport through the following decades. Expansion land was purchased to the west during the 1980s, and the facility was renamed West Houston Airport to tie its identity to the fast growing suburbs along the Katy Freeway. The airport's own history record credits the field with roughly 300 direct and indirect jobs and well over 100 million dollars in annual airport related revenue.

Today IWS is a privately owned, public use reliever airport covering about 200 acres in western Harris County. The FAA counts it among the facilities that relieve pressure on George Bush Intercontinental and William P. Hobby, and the National Air Transportation Association once listed it among the most needed airports in the country. Its value to Texas business travel is simple: it places a corporate jet within 15 miles of downtown Houston and only minutes from the headquarters campuses of the Energy Corridor.

Flight Operations and Carriers at IWS

West Houston Airport has no scheduled airline service, and this is precisely why business travelers prefer it. Operations consist of corporate flight departments, charter operators, fractional ownership programs, air ambulance providers, flight training, and private owners. During the mid 1980s a commuter carrier named Air West flew eight weekday nonstops from IWS to Dallas Love Field, and an earlier commuter link shuttled passengers to Houston Intercontinental, but commercial flights ended decades ago. The runway and ramp are now reserved for general aviation and business aircraft.

Destinations Reached Through IWS

Because every flight is private or chartered, the destination list is written by the passenger. Common city pairs include Dallas Love Field, Austin, San Antonio, Midland, Corpus Christi, New Orleans, Oklahoma City, Denver, Scottsdale, and Nashville. The 3,953 foot runway handles turboprops, very light jets, light jets, and selected midsize jets with a maximum takeoff weight of 27,500 pounds, which covers most trips within the central and southern United States without a fuel stop.

Terminal and FBO Facilities

There is no commercial passenger terminal with gates, ticket counters, or TSA screening. Passengers use the fixed base operator terminal on the east side of the runway, which offers an executive lounge, pilot briefing room, meeting space, Wi Fi, catering coordination, and a crew lounge. Aircraft owners park in private hangars spread across the airport's hangar rows, and arriving passengers are usually driven directly to the aircraft or met at the FBO front door. The field is attended continuously, and runway 15/33 carries high intensity edge lighting for night arrivals.

Passenger Traffic and Activity

IWS records about 150,000 aircraft operations a year and hosts close to 400 based aircraft, which ranks it among the busiest general aviation fields in Texas. There is no control tower; pilots coordinate on UNICOM 123.05 while Houston Approach manages traffic in the surrounding airspace. Activity peaks on weekday mornings and late afternoons as corporate departures and arrivals cluster around the business day, so chauffeur pickups are timed against your tail number's actual arrival, never a published airline schedule.

Parking at West Houston Airport

Parking at IWS is informal compared with a commercial airport. The FBO maintains a surface lot beside its terminal for short visits, and hangar tenants have assigned vehicle parking beside their buildings. There are no parking garages, no hourly pay stations, and no long term economy lots. Travelers leaving a personal vehicle for several days typically arrange space with their FBO in advance, which is one more reason a chauffeur drop off keeps things simple.

Pick Up and Drop Off Guidance

Our chauffeurs meet arriving passengers at the FBO curb or, with ramp clearance from the operator, directly beside the aircraft. Share your tail number, operator name, and estimated arrival time at booking, and we will track the flight through its departure airport. For departures, your chauffeur will deliver you to the FBO entrance about 20 minutes before wheels up, unload luggage to the counter, and confirm the aircraft is positioned before leaving the property.

Ground Transportation Around IWS

West Houston Airport is entirely car dependent. The nearest public transit is the Addicks Park and Ride on the Katy Freeway, where METRO Park and Ride express buses run to downtown and the Texas Medical Center along the Interstate 10 HOV lanes, but that lot is a drive away from the FBO and the buses carry no luggage provisions for private flyers. Taxis rarely stage at the airport, rental cars must be requested through the FBO, and app based rides depend on whether a driver happens to be nearby. A reserved chauffeur removes every one of those variables.

Tips for Arriving Passengers

  • Send your tail number and operator to your chauffeur so pickup can follow the aircraft, not the clock
  • Customs and immigration are not available at IWS; international flights clear elsewhere before landing here
  • Allow extra travel time on weekday afternoons when Interstate 10 and State Highway 6 back up near Barker Cypress
  • Afternoon thunderstorms are common from May through September; your chauffeur will monitor weather holds
  • Confirm hangar access with the FBO if you want curbside loading beside the aircraft

Prebooked Chauffeur Service Compared With Taxis and Rideshare

At a commercial airport a taxi queue is always a few steps away. At a general aviation field like IWS, that queue does not exist. Rideshare drivers who accept a trip to Groschke Road may cancel once they see the distance, and taxi dispatch from the city can take 30 to 45 minutes. Union Limousine confirms your chauffeur the day before, monitors your flight the day of, and bills a fixed rate agreed in advance, so a weather delay or an early landing never becomes a surge charge or a stranded passenger at the hangar.

Local Areas, Venues, and Related Airports We Serve from IWS

West Houston Airport lies inside unincorporated Harris County at the edge of the Addicks Reservoir, which places George Bush Park and Bear Creek Pioneers Park within a few minutes of the FBO. Common destinations include the energy company campuses along Interstate 10 in the Energy Corridor, Memorial City Mall and Memorial Hermann Memorial City, the CityCentre dining district, the Galleria and Uptown, Katy Mills, Typhoon Texas, and Legacy Stadium in Katy. Our Harris County car service also covers the Texas Medical Center, Rice University, the Museum District, Minute Maid Park, NRG Stadium, and Hobby Center for the Performing Arts, along with suburban addresses in Cinco Ranch, Cypress, Fulshear, and Sugar Land.

Many clients split a trip between airports. A team may land at IWS on a charter and depart on a commercial flight, or a principal may fly commercial into Bush Intercontinental while staff arrive privately. Our George Bush Intercontinental Airport limo service handles the commercial leg, and we coordinate transfers to William P. Hobby Airport, Houston Executive Airport in Brookshire, Sugar Land Regional Airport, and the Port of Galveston cruise terminals with the same chauffeur team whenever the schedule allows.

No. IWS serves general aviation and business aircraft only. Corporate jets, charters, fractional programs, air ambulance flights, and private owners use the field, and commuter airline service ended in the 1980s.

Your chauffeur waits inside the FBO lobby or at the curb directly outside the entrance. With prior clearance from the operator, we can also position the vehicle on the ramp beside your aircraft.

Most private flyers board within 15 to 20 minutes of reaching the FBO, so we schedule arrival about 20 minutes before your planned wheels up time, adjusted for traffic on Interstate 10 and State Highway 6.

The airport is roughly 23 miles west of downtown. Travel time runs 30 to 35 minutes outside rush hour and 45 to 60 minutes during weekday peaks on the Katy Freeway.

Yes. Our 14 passenger Sprinter vans are the most requested vehicle for crews and executive teams, with standing headroom, individual power outlets, and a separate luggage compartment.

We track by tail number through the departure airport and operator updates. Your pickup time moves with the aircraft, and early or delayed arrivals never change your quoted rate.

There are no public long term lots or garages. Hangar tenants park beside their buildings, and the FBO has a small visitor lot, which makes a chauffeured drop off the practical choice for multi day trips.

Yes. Sprinter vans, mini coaches, and full size charter buses carry groups from West Houston Airport to the Port of Galveston, about 75 miles away, with luggage bays sized for cruise baggage.

Every quote is all inclusive. Tolls on Beltway 8, the Westpark Tollway, and the Grand Parkway, plus fuel and chauffeur gratuity, are built into the fixed price you receive in writing.

We serve the Energy Corridor, Memorial City, CityCentre, Katy, Cinco Ranch, Cypress, Sugar Land, the Galleria, the Texas Medical Center, downtown Houston, and every destination across Texas.
