What we offer

Aspen Pitkin County (ASE) Airport Limo Service

Corporate guests, wedding parties and festival visitors count on our Aspen Pitkin County (ASE) Airport limo service for quiet and punctual chauffeured transfers to Snowmass, Basalt and each CO resort.

Stretch Limo Service to and from Aspen Pitkin County (ASE) Airport

Touching down at 7,820 feet above sea level is a thrill. Standing at the Ground Transportation Circle in January wind, watching the taxi line grow while ski bags pile up at your feet, is less of one. Union Limousine runs a professional Aspen Pitkin County (ASE) Airport limo service built around the way this mountain airport actually works: short runway, regional jets, winter weather holds and a terminal where everyone exits through the same baggage claim doors at once. Our chauffeurs track your inbound flight, meet you with a name board and have the vehicle warmed, loaded and rolling toward Aspen, Snowmass or any other Colorado destination within minutes. This page belongs to our wider Colorado airport limo service program, and every detail below is specific to ASE.

Why Travelers Choose Our Aspen Pitkin County (ASE) Airport Limo Service?

Aspen is a small airport with outsized expectations. Guests arriving for a week at The Little Nell, a board meeting at the Aspen Institute or a wedding at Aspen Meadows Resort want the same standard on the ground that they had in the air. We deliver it with licensed chauffeurs, late model vehicles equipped for snow and a dispatch team that monitors ASE arrivals in real time.

  • Flight tracking on every ASE arrival, including the diverted and delayed flights that mountain weather produces
  • Meet and greet inside baggage claim with a name board, then curbside loading at the Ground Transportation Circle
  • All wheel drive SUVs, winter tires and ski racks for Highway 82, Owl Creek Road and Brush Creek Road in a storm
  • Fixed, confirmed pricing for one way, round trip and hourly service with no surge multipliers during X Games or Food & Wine weekends
  • Chauffeurs who know every hotel porte cochère in Aspen and Snowmass Village and the private driveways of Red Mountain and Starwood
  • Child seats, extra luggage trailers for large ski groups and wheelchair accessible vehicles on request
  • Reservations by phone, email or online, 24 hours a day, with a single confirmation that covers the whole trip

Union Limousine has been in the chauffeured transportation business since 1997. We bring that experience to a resort market where the margin for error is thin: a missed pickup in Aspen can mean a lost evening on the mountain, and an unlicensed ride can mean a long wait on a frozen curb. We remove both risks.

Chauffeured Routes From ASE Across Colorado

Aspen and Snowmass Village

The terminal sits about three miles northwest of downtown Aspen along Highway 82, so a sedan or SUV usually reaches Hotel Jerome, the St. Regis Aspen or a Gondola Plaza condo in ten to fifteen minutes. Snowmass Village is roughly six miles away by Owl Creek Road or Brush Creek Road, which puts the Viceroy Snowmass, the Limelight Snowmass and the Base Village lifts about twenty minutes from your gate. Because both towns sit inside the county, our Pitkin County car service handles the entire local network, from Woody Creek to the Maroon Creek Club to the Aspen Highlands and Buttermilk base areas.

Basalt, Carbondale and Glenwood Springs

Down valley travel is a large part of what we do at ASE. Second homeowners, wedding guests and conference attendees often stay in Basalt or Willits, about twenty five minutes from the airport, or in Carbondale, roughly forty minutes away near the base of Mount Sopris. Glenwood Springs, home to the historic hot springs pool and the Hotel Colorado, is about an hour by Highway 82. Our chauffeurs run these corridors daily and know where the deer cross, where the ice forms and where the construction zones slow traffic each season.

Vail, Eagle County and the Front Range

When ASE weather holds force a diversion, or when a traveler is combining two resorts in a single trip, we provide direct transfers to and from Vail, Beaver Creek and Eagle County Regional Airport in Gypsum, about seventy miles and ninety minutes away over Interstate 70 in normal conditions. Denver International is roughly 220 miles and four hours by road. For travelers heading beyond the valley, our statewide limo service in Colorado covers Denver, Boulder, Colorado Springs, Grand Junction and every county in between with the same chauffeur standard you experience at ASE.

Aspen Venues and Events We Serve

  • Aspen Mountain and the Silver Queen Gondola, Aspen Highlands, Buttermilk and Snowmass ski areas
  • Winter X Games at Buttermilk, Wintersköl, the Aspen Music Festival and School, the Aspen Ideas Festival and the Food & Wine Classic in Aspen
  • The Aspen Institute, Aspen Meadows Resort, the Wheeler Opera House, Belly Up Aspen and the Aspen Art Museum
  • Maroon Bells scenic area transfers, Independence Pass summer drives and Ashcroft ghost town excursions
  • Hotels and residences including The Little Nell, Hotel Jerome, St. Regis Aspen, W Aspen, Viceroy Snowmass, Limelight Hotels and private homes on Red Mountain, Starwood and West Buttermilk

Our Fleet for Aspen Airport Transfers

Every vehicle we send to ASE is winter ready, climate controlled and chosen for the passenger count and luggage load on your reservation. Ski and snowboard bags, golf clubs for Maroon Creek and Snowmass Club summers, and oversized cases all fit when the right vehicle is booked, so tell us what you are bringing.

A Brief History and Why ASE Matters

The airport began in 1946 as a privately owned gravel strip promoted by Walter Paepcke and John Spachner, with the newly founded Aspen Institute as its principal user and a log cabin serving as the terminal. Pitkin County took ownership in 1956 so the field could qualify for federal funding, and the first paved runway, 5,200 feet long, opened in 1957 under the direction of County Commissioner Tom Sardy. The airport was dedicated as Sardy Field in his honor in 1958. The 1976 terminal was the first commercial building in the United States heated with passive solar design, and the runway reached its current 8,006 foot length in 2011. Today ASE is the primary commercial gateway to Aspen and Snowmass, one of the highest altitude airports with scheduled airline service in North America and the busiest ski destination airport in the Rockies by passenger volume.

Airlines Serving ASE

Three major carriers serve Aspen through their regional partners. United Express flies year round to Denver, Houston Intercontinental and Los Angeles, with Chicago O'Hare and San Francisco added in peak seasons. American Eagle serves Dallas Fort Worth year round and brings in Austin, Charlotte, Chicago O'Hare, Los Angeles and Phoenix for the winter; current routes and fares are published on the American Airlines flights to Aspen page. Delta Connection links Atlanta and Los Angeles. SkyWest and Envoy operate most of these flights with Embraer 175 and CRJ700 jets, since the 95 foot wingspan limit and 100,000 pound weight ceiling at ASE keep mainline aircraft such as the Boeing 737 off the field. Aero, a semi private carrier, offers premium flights from Van Nuys in Los Angeles and seasonal service from the New York area.

Domestic Destinations

Denver dominates the schedule as the connecting hub, with about 141,700 passengers on the ASE to Denver route during 2025. Dallas Fort Worth followed with around 55,000, Los Angeles with 47,600, Chicago O'Hare with 43,700 and Houston with 25,000. Seasonal nonstops to Atlanta, Austin, Charlotte, Phoenix and San Francisco round out the map, which means winter guests from most major metro areas can reach Aspen with one connection at most. Our chauffeurs meet every one of these arrivals, including the late evening Denver flights that land after the free bus has thinned out.

Terminal Information

ASE operates one single level terminal of about 44,000 square feet, renovated several times since 1976. Ticketing and security are at the east end, gates are a short walk beyond the checkpoint, and baggage claim opens directly onto the Ground Transportation Circle. Six rental car companies keep counters in the arrivals hall, a year round guest services desk answers questions, and Jeddadiahs provides food and gifts. Atlantic Aviation is the sole fixed base operator for private aircraft, with its own ramp on the north side of the field. Because the terminal is compact, a chauffeur standing in baggage claim is visible from the moment you walk off the jet bridge.

Passenger Traffic

ASE handled roughly 698,000 total passengers and 48,502 aircraft operations in 2024, a record year that extended a run of eleven consecutive record months through April 2025. March, the busiest month, pushed past 100,000 passengers in 2025. Summer 2025 saw 198,504 commercial travelers in June, July and August, slightly below the 2024 figure after high winds caused diversions, yet far above the 173,120 recorded in the same months of 2019. Peak weeks around Christmas, Presidents Day, spring break, the Food & Wine Classic and the July 4 holiday bring the heaviest curbside demand, and those are the dates when pre booking a chauffeur matters most.

Parking Overview

The airport runs two surface lots, both within walking distance of the terminal and neither available for reservation. The Bear Lot sits steps from the entrance and charges $6 per hour after a free first 30 minutes, with a daily maximum of $28. The Elk Lot, the economy option a short walk from baggage claim, charges $3 per hour and caps at $15 per day. Entry and exit use Metropolis license plate recognition, so there are no tickets; drivers register in the app or scan a QR code on arrival, and SP Plus manages the lots on site. A 30 day limit applies to every session. Current status and rates are posted on the ASE parking page, and the Bear Lot regularly fills during ski season weekends, which is one of the reasons many second homeowners now book a chauffeured drop off for departures.

Pick Up and Drop Off Guidance

For departures, the front drive outside ticketing is a quick drop zone only; the Transportation Security Administration requires that no vehicle wait there, so our chauffeurs unload at the curb and depart. For arrivals, taxis, limousines and hotel shuttles stage at the Ground Transportation Circle immediately outside baggage claim, while rideshare drivers meet passengers at the front drive. Your chauffeur will text you as the aircraft lands, meet you at the carousel and walk you to the vehicle, which is one of the few conveniences that makes an ASE pickup feel effortless when the circle is crowded.

Ground Transportation Options

The Roaring Fork Transportation Authority runs free buses from the baggage claim exit into Aspen and Snowmass Village, with fares applying north of the Brush Creek intercept lot; schedules are available at the information booth. Taxis queue at the circle, six rental brands operate from the terminal and resort shuttles collect their own guests. A pre arranged limo or car service is the only option that guarantees a specific vehicle, a specific driver and a specific pickup time, which is why hotels and corporate travel managers in Aspen default to it for VIP arrivals.

Tips for Arriving Passengers

  • Hydrate on the flight and go easy on the first evening; altitude symptoms are common for visitors from sea level
  • Pack a layer in your carry on, because the walk from the jet bridge to the circle can be below zero in January
  • Build an extra buffer into winter connections; ASE weather holds and go arounds are routine on stormy afternoons
  • Share your inbound flight number with us so a diversion to Eagle or Grand Junction is handled before you taxi in
  • Keep ski boots in your carry on when possible, since checked bags on regional jets occasionally arrive on a later flight
  • Confirm your lodging address and gate code in advance; many Aspen and Snowmass homes have no visible street numbers in deep snow

Why a Pre Booked Chauffeur Beats Taxis and Rideshare at ASE?

Rideshare supply in the Roaring Fork Valley is thin on the busiest days, and prices climb sharply when a dozen flights land in the same hour. Taxis are available at the circle but are first come, first served, and a group of six with ski bags often cannot fit into one. A pre booked chauffeur solves all of it: the vehicle is sized to your party, the driver has been monitoring your flight, the price was fixed when you booked and the car is already equipped for mountain roads. Federal guidance on emergency car kits recommends blankets, traction aids, flares and a charged phone for anyone driving in winter conditions; our vehicles carry all of that so you do not have to think about it. Union Limousine also provides a single point of contact for changes, which matters when an airline moves your return flight at 10 pm.

Preparing for the 2027 Runway Closure

Voters approved a runway realignment in November 2024, and the airport is scheduled to close from April 4, 2027, through November 19, 2027, while the runway is shifted 80 feet west and widened to 150 feet. A modernized terminal is expected to follow by 2029. During the closure, commercial traffic for Aspen will route through Eagle County Regional, Grand Junction and Denver, and we will run direct chauffeured transfers from each of those airports into Aspen and Snowmass so the experience stays uninterrupted.

Annual Spring Maintenance Closure

ASE also closes for several weeks each May for runway, taxiway and apron maintenance; in 2025 the closure ran from May 5 to June 1. Travelers arriving in that window fly into Eagle, Grand Junction or Denver, and our dispatch team coordinates the longer drive, including stops in Glenwood Springs or Vail on request.

Who Books Our ASE Limo Service?

Ski Season Families and Groups

From Thanksgiving through the April closing of Aspen Mountain, most of our ASE reservations are families and friend groups carrying skis, boards and boots. An SUV or Sprinter with racks removes the rental car headache entirely, and your chauffeur will stop for groceries at City Market or Clark's Market in Aspen before heading to the house.

Corporate and Conference Travel

The Aspen Institute, the Aspen Ideas Festival, the Aspen Security Forum and executive retreats at Snowmass draw a steady flow of business travelers who expect quiet, punctual, invoiced ground transportation. Our Aspen airport car service supports corporate accounts with consolidated billing, driver manifests and hourly as directed service for multi stop days.

Weddings and Private Celebrations

Destination weddings at the Maroon Bells amphitheater, T Lazy 7 Ranch, the Hotel Jerome and private estates rely on us to move guests from ASE to lodging, from lodging to ceremony and back again on a tight timeline. We can also coordinate down valley guest pickups in Basalt and Carbondale and late night returns after the reception.

Frequently Asked Questions

Explore our FAQs to learn more about our luxury fleet, professional chauffeurs, airport transfers, reservations, and private transportation services designed for a comfortable and seamless travel experience.

The terminal sits about three miles northwest of downtown along Highway 82, so a chauffeured sedan or SUV typically reaches the Hotel Jerome, The Little Nell or Gondola Plaza in ten to fifteen minutes. Heavy snow or holiday traffic can add a few minutes, which your driver accounts for when timing the pickup.

Your chauffeur waits inside the baggage claim hall with a name board, helps with bags at the carousel and walks you to the vehicle at the Ground Transportation Circle just outside the doors. You will receive a text with the driver's name and phone number as your flight lands.

Yes, our SUVs seat up to six and carry skis and boards on rooftop boxes or racks, with boot bags and suitcases in the cargo area. For six adults with full winter gear, a Sprinter van gives everyone more room and keeps all of the luggage inside the vehicle.

Snowmass Village is roughly six miles from the terminal by Owl Creek Road or Brush Creek Road, and the trip usually takes fifteen to twenty minutes. Base Village, the Viceroy, the Limelight and the Westin on Fanny Hill are all within a few minutes of each other once you arrive.

Because we track every inbound flight, dispatch sees the diversion as it happens and repositions your chauffeur to Eagle County Regional or Grand Junction, both of which we serve regularly. You pay the published rate for the longer transfer and avoid the scramble for a rental car at an unfamiliar airport.

We do. Infant, convertible and booster seats are installed before the chauffeur leaves for the airport when you request them at booking. Let us know the age and weight of each child so the correct seat is fitted and secured.

For many guests it is, once rental fees, airport surcharges, winter tire upgrades, resort parking charges of $30 to $60 per night and fuel are added together. A round trip chauffeured transfer paired with the free local bus and walkable downtown often costs less and removes the stress of driving mountain roads.

Yes. Our chauffeurs are familiar with the Atlantic Aviation FBO on the north side of the field and can meet aircraft planeside when the FBO permits it. Share your tail number and estimated arrival time and we will coordinate directly with the FBO front desk.

We offer hourly as directed service with a minimum booking, which suits the Aspen Ideas Festival, Food & Wine Classic, corporate retreats and wedding weekends with multiple stops. Your chauffeur stays with the group between venues, so there is never a wait for a return ride.

Peak dates such as Christmas week, Presidents Day, spring break and the X Games sell out of SUVs and Sprinter vans early, so we recommend reserving four to six weeks ahead. Last minute requests are accepted when vehicles remain, and we will always tell you honestly what is available.
