What we offer

Wiscasset (ISS) Airport Limo Service

Private flyers into Lincoln County rely on our Wiscasset (ISS) Airport Limo Service for sedans, SUVs and Sprinter vans to Boothbay Harbor, Damariscotta and Bath, with chauffeurs tracking each arrival.

Stretch Limo Service to and from Wiscasset (ISS) Airport

Private aircraft touch down at Wiscasset Airport (ISS) within sight of the Sheepscot River, and the drive that follows should feel as composed as the flight. Union Limousine provides chauffeured Maine airport limo service at this Lincoln County field for travelers headed to Boothbay Harbor, Bath, Damariscotta, Brunswick and the summer colonies along the Midcoast peninsulas. We confirm every reservation in writing, we monitor your aircraft, and we position a chauffeur on the ramp apron before your wheels stop turning.

Why Midcoast Travelers Reserve Our Wiscasset Airport Limo?

Wiscasset is a town of roughly 3,700 residents, and its airport sits on a wooded neck of land four miles west of the village. There is no taxi rank at the terminal and no reliable rideshare presence on Chewonki Neck Road. A traveler who steps off a charter without a car arranged in advance will spend the first hour of their Maine visit on the phone. We built our limo service around that exact gap: a chauffeur who is already waiting, a vehicle sized for the party, and a price agreed before departure.

Chauffeurs Who Know Route 1 and the Peninsulas

The Midcoast is a series of long fingers of land reaching south from U.S. Route 1, and each peninsula has one road in and one road out. Our chauffeurs drive Route 27 to Boothbay Harbor, Route 129 and 130 to South Bristol and Pemaquid, and Route 32 to Round Pond and New Harbor as regular assignments. They know when the Wiscasset village bottleneck on Route 1 backs up on a July weekend, and they know the detours through Alna and Head Tide that avoid it.

Flat Pricing Confirmed Before You Fly

Every Union Limousine quote for ISS is a fixed figure that covers the chauffeur, the vehicle, standard wait time tied to your arrival, and tolls where applicable. We do not meter the ride, and we do not raise the fare because fog delayed your approach into Wiscasset. The number on your confirmation is the number on your receipt.

History and Importance of Wiscasset Airport

The Town of Wiscasset acquired the land in 1958, relocated a section of Chewonki Neck Road to make room, and opened the field in 1961 with a 2,600 foot turf strip and a single hangar. Pavement arrived the next year, and the runway reached its current length in 1968. The town bought the present terminal building in 1990 and connected the apron to Runway 25 with a new taxiway in 1996. The most significant modern project was the full reconstruction of Runway 7/25, a $3.5 million federally funded rebuild completed in summer 2022 after the town spent years clearing tree obstructions from the Runway 7 approach. In 2025 the FAA awarded a further $585,000 to reconstruct 19,505 square yards of airfield pavement.

Wiscasset matters to the region out of proportion to its size. The airport FAQ notes that charter aircraft bring visitors and business travelers to the Midcoast, that several area companies base aircraft here, and that LifeFlight of Maine, law enforcement, state agencies, powerline patrols and the National Guard all use the field. The 2022 Maine State Aviation System Economic Impact Analysis describes it as the access point for tourists seeking maritime experiences, historic sites and scenic coastline along this stretch of Maine.

Airlines Operating from ISS

No scheduled passenger airline serves Wiscasset Airport. The 3,397 foot runway and the lack of a control tower place it firmly in the general aviation category. Traffic consists of private owners, corporate aircraft, fractional operators such as PlaneSense with their PC 12 turboprops, on demand charter flights, flight training, and medical and government aviation. Travelers who want airline service into Maine fly into Portland International Jetport (PWM), Augusta State (AUG), Knox County Regional (RKD) or Bangor International (BGR), and we provide car service from each of those airports to Lincoln County as well.

Domestic Destinations

Because the field is served by charter and private aircraft, destinations are set by the passenger. Typical city pairs for private flights into Wiscasset connect the field with Teterboro and Westchester County outside New York City, Boston area fields such as Bedford and Norwood, Nantucket and Martha's Vineyard, Philadelphia, Washington Dulles and Florida winter bases in Palm Beach, Naples and Vero Beach. The runway comfortably handles light jets and turboprops, which keeps most of the Eastern Seaboard within a single hop.

Terminal Information

The terminal is a modest administration building beside the apron, acquired by the town in 1990 and operated as the town run FBO on the ground floor with a private tenant leasing the upper floor. Inside you will find a pilot lounge, restrooms, a flight planning area, and the FBO counter where fuel and parking are arranged. The town publishes its current rules, minimum standards and master plan on the Wiscasset Municipal Airport page of the municipal website. Seasonal attendance runs daily from May through Labor Day, then Friday through Sunday from September into November; self serve 100LL and Jet A fuel is available around the clock by credit card.

Passenger Traffic

Wiscasset records no airline enplanements, so traffic is measured in aircraft operations and based aircraft. Activity peaks sharply between late June and Columbus Day, when summer residents of Boothbay, Southport, Westport Island and the Damariscotta River arrive by charter and when fractional aircraft shuttle executives between the Midcoast and the Northeast corridor. Winter weeks are quiet, with activity driven by local owners, LifeFlight and training flights. The pattern matters for ground transportation: a July Friday afternoon can bring several arrivals within a half hour, which is precisely when an advance reservation pays off.

Parking Overview

Vehicle parking is in a small surface lot beside the terminal, free of charge, with no permit or reservation system. The 2014 master plan flagged a slight shortage of spaces during peak summer weekends and proposed an expansion of roughly 19 vehicles adjacent to the terminal. Travelers who leave a car here for a fortnight occasionally return to find the lot full and vehicles parked along the access road. Overnight aircraft parking and hangar space are arranged with the FBO.

Pick Up and Drop Off Guidance

Chewonki Neck Road leaves Route 144 just south of Route 1 and runs roughly two miles to the airport entrance. The terminal and apron are at the end of the road; there is no loop, no curbside zone and no staging area apart from the parking lot itself. Our chauffeur parks in the lot, confirms your tail number with the FBO, and meets you at the terminal door or, with FBO permission, at the aircraft. For departures we recommend arriving 20 to 30 minutes before your scheduled wheels up, since there is no security screening and your pilot will be ready when you are.

Ground Transportation Options

Ground options at ISS are thin. The FBO can assist with rental cars delivered from Bath or Brunswick when arranged in advance, but there is no on site rental counter. No public bus serves Chewonki Neck Road; the nearest intercity coach stop is on Route 1 in Wiscasset village, four miles away, with nothing connecting it to the airport. Rideshare drivers are scarce in Lincoln County and rarely accept a pickup this far from Route 1. The dependable option is a reserved Wiscasset Airport car service with a chauffeur who has your aircraft registration and arrival time in hand.

Tips for Arriving Passengers

  • Give us your tail number and FBO contact, so we can confirm your actual arrival with the counter.
  • Cell coverage is good at the airport but fades on the peninsula roads; share your chauffeur's number with your traveling party before you leave the terminal.
  • Summer fog off the Sheepscot can delay morning arrivals; our flight tracking adjusts the pickup time automatically at no charge.
  • If you are continuing to an island or a boat, tell us the dock and the ferry or launch time so the chauffeur can plan accordingly.
  • Pack for the drive: Boothbay Harbor is 35 minutes, Camden about an hour, and Portland about an hour and ten minutes.

Why a Reserved Chauffeur Is the Right Call at ISS?

In Manhattan or Boston a rideshare appears within minutes. On a wooded neck of land in Lincoln County, the app can search for twenty minutes and come back empty, and the handful of local taxi operators are often tied up with medical runs or ferry connections. A Union Limousine reservation removes that uncertainty. The chauffeur is dispatched against your flight plan, the vehicle is matched to your luggage and party size, the fare is fixed, and you have a single phone number that is answered around the clock.

Where We Drive from Wiscasset Airport?

Wiscasset Village and the Sheepscot River

The village sits five minutes east along Route 1, with its brick storefronts, antique shops and the two lines that form each summer outside Red's Eats and Sprague's Lobster at the foot of the Davey Bridge. We provide transfers to inns on High Street and Federal Street, to the Wiscasset Waterfront, and to homes along Birch Point and Westport Island.

Boothbay Harbor and the Peninsula

Route 27 carries most of our ISS guests south through Boothbay to the harbor, the Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens, Ocean Point and the Southport bridge. The Boothbay Harbor Region Chamber of Commerce covers the lodging and events calendar for the peninsula, and we handle the transfers that follow: a resort check in at Spruce Point, a Cabbage Island clambake boat, a Windjammer Days weekend or a wedding at the Botanical Gardens.

Bath, Brunswick and Freeport

West of Wiscasset the road crosses the Kennebec into Bath, home of Bath Iron Works and the Maine Maritime Museum on Washington Street. Twenty minutes further on are Bowdoin College and the restaurants of Maine Street in Brunswick, and Freeport's outlets and the L.L.Bean flagship lie a few miles further west. We serve all of them from ISS with executive sedans for individuals and Sprinter vans for shopping and college groups.

Damariscotta, Newcastle and Pemaquid

North on Route 1 and then down Route 130, our chauffeurs reach the twin villages of Damariscotta and Newcastle, the oyster farms on the Damariscotta River, Pemaquid Point Light, Colonial Pemaquid and the harbors at New Harbor and Round Pond. Autumn pumpkin festival traffic and summer oyster weekends both call for a driver who knows the back roads through Bristol Mills.

Connections to Portland, Augusta and Rockland

Many ISS passengers combine a private flight with a commercial connection or a cruise. We run direct transfers to Portland International Jetport and the Ocean Gateway cruise terminal, to Augusta State Airport, and east along Route 1 to Rockland and the Knox County Regional Airport, as part of our statewide limo service in Maine. Camden, Rockport and Lincolnville Beach fall within the same eastern route.

Our Fleet for Wiscasset Airport Transfers

Executive Cars

Sedans (Up to 3 Passengers)

Our executive sedans carry up to three passengers with two large suitcases and carry on bags. They are the standard choice for a single executive flying PlaneSense into ISS for a Bath Iron Works meeting, for a couple arriving for a Boothbay weekend, or for a Bowdoin family with one student in tow.

SUVs (Up to 6 Passengers)

Full size SUVs seat up to six with room for golf bags, ski equipment headed inland, or the week of luggage that accompanies a family opening a summer house on Southport. The higher ride and all wheel drive make them our default recommendation from November through April.

Celebration and Group Vehicles

Stretch Limousines (Up to 20 Passengers)

Stretch limousines accommodate between eight and twenty passengers depending on the model. They are booked from ISS for weddings at the Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens and the Wiscasset waterfront, milestone birthdays in Boothbay Harbor, and anniversary dinners along the Damariscotta River.

Sprinter Vans (Up to 14 Passengers)

Mercedes Sprinter vans carry ten to fourteen passengers with stand up headroom and a separate luggage compartment. Corporate teams arriving on a single charter, sailing crews bound for Boothbay regattas, and extended families splitting a rental on Westport Island favor this vehicle.

Party Buses (Up to 30 Passengers)

Party buses seat twenty to thirty guests with perimeter seating, sound systems and coolers. We dispatch them from ISS for bachelor and bachelorette weekends on the peninsula, brewery runs to Brunswick and Freeport, and Windjammer Days celebrations.

Charter Coaches

Mini Charter Buses (Up to 35 Passengers)

Mini coaches hold twenty five to thirty five passengers with forward facing seats, overhead racks and underfloor luggage bays. They suit Chewonki Foundation program groups, Bath Iron Works contractor teams and wedding parties shuttling between a Wiscasset inn and a Boothbay venue.

Full Size Charter Buses (Up to 56 Passengers)

Full size motorcoaches carry up to fifty six passengers with restrooms, climate control and generous luggage capacity. When a corporate retreat or a reunion flies a group into the Midcoast on several aircraft, we consolidate everyone onto a single coach for the drive to Sebasco, Spruce Point or Camden.

Services We Provide at ISS

Private Aviation Meet and Greet

Our chauffeur coordinates directly with the Wiscasset FBO, confirms your arrival, assists with luggage from the aircraft and has the vehicle cooled or warmed to your preference before you reach the vehicle.

Weddings and Celebrations on the Midcoast

From a first look at the Botanical Gardens to a reception at a barn in Alna, we provide stretch limousines, party buses and Sprinter van service in Maine for guests arriving by air at Wiscasset, and we coordinate return trips to the airport the following morning.

Corporate and Group Movements

Shipbuilding in Bath, biotech firms at the former Brunswick naval air station, Bowdoin College visits, and summer conferences at Chewonki all bring groups through ISS. Our airport charter bus service moves everyone together, with a dispatcher assigned to the account for the length of the engagement.

Hourly Chauffeur Service

For a day of property viewings on the peninsula, a Pemaquid lighthouse tour or a dinner circuit through Damariscotta and Round Pond, you can hold a chauffeur and vehicle by the hour with no return trip to the airport required until you are ready.
