What we offer

Yellowstone (WYS) Airport Limo Service

Corporate retreats at Big Sky, fly fishing weeks on the Madison and wedding parties bound for Hebgen Lake all begin with one booked car at WYS. Reserve seasonal pickups before the summer rush arrives.

Stretch Limo Service to and from Yellowstone (WYS) Airport

Yellowstone Airport sits two miles north of West Yellowstone on US 191, and in summer it is the quickest way to reach the park's West Entrance by air. Our Yellowstone (WYS) Airport limo service meets every seasonal Delta and United arrival with a licensed chauffeur, a clean vehicle sized to your party, and a direct ride to your lodge, cabin, or trailhead. As part of our wider Montana airport limo service, the WYS route covers West Yellowstone, Island Park, Hebgen Lake, Big Sky, and the long run north to Bozeman.

Union Limousine has arranged chauffeured ground transportation since 1997, and the mountain gateway towns are where that experience pays off. Flights into WYS land at 6,649 feet, the terminal is small, and the town outside has roughly 1,300 year round residents and very few taxis. Travelers who prebook with us step off a CRJ jet, collect bags at the new indoor claim, and find their driver holding a name sign at the door.

Why Montana Visitors Prebook a Limo at Yellowstone Airport?

WYS handles a short, intense season of park bound travelers. Rental counters run out of vehicles on peak weekends, rideshare coverage in West Yellowstone is thin, and shuttle vans fill up with hotel guests. A reserved chauffeur removes all of that uncertainty.

What Every WYS Transfer Includes?

  • Live flight tracking on Delta Connection and United Express arrivals, so a late inbound from Salt Lake City or Denver never leaves you waiting at the curb.
  • Meet and greet at the terminal entrance with help loading luggage, coolers, fishing rod tubes, and camera gear.
  • Flat, quoted pricing for every Montana destination with no surge fees during July and August.
  • Chauffeurs who drive US 191, US 20, and the Gallatin Canyon in all summer conditions, including afternoon storms and wildlife on the road.
  • Child seats, extra luggage space, and ADA accessible vehicles arranged at the time of booking.
  • Round trip packages that lock in both your arrival pickup and your departure transfer at one rate.

Who Rides With Us From WYS?

Family groups heading for Old Faithful, corporate retreats at Big Sky, anglers bound for the Madison and Henrys Fork, wedding parties staying at Hebgen Lake, and photographers chasing the Lamar Valley all arrive through this one small terminal. Our dispatch team schedules each party separately, so a 50 seat regional jet does not become a scramble for cars.

Yellowstone Airport Limo Transfers We Provide

Arrival Pickups at the New Terminal

Your chauffeur waits inside the terminal when you land. The walk from gate to baggage claim to the front doors takes about two minutes, and the vehicle is positioned at the curb lane directly outside. For groups arriving on separate flights, we hold one vehicle and stagger pickups so nobody waits in the lot.

Departure Transfers to WYS

Both airlines operate a limited number of daily departures, usually in the late morning and early afternoon, and a missed flight can mean a day's delay. We schedule departure pickups with a margin for Yellowstone traffic, bison jams on the park road, and construction on US 191, then confirm the time the night before.

Park Gateway and Lodge Rides

The West Entrance is about three miles from the airport, and Madison Junction is 14 miles inside the park. We run private transfers to Old Faithful Inn, Canyon Village, Lake Yellowstone Hotel, and Mammoth Hot Springs, as well as to cabins at Hebgen Lake, Island Park, and Henrys Lake across the Idaho line.

Big Sky, Bozeman, and Regional Connections

When a WYS flight cancels or the season closes, travelers still need to get to Bozeman Yellowstone International Airport, 88 miles north. We cover that run year round, along with transfers to Big Sky Resort, Lone Mountain Ranch, Montana State University, and downtown Bozeman hotels. Riders bound for Jackson Hole or Cody can book a through fare across the park.

Group and Event Transportation

Tour operators, fly fishing outfitters, school science trips, and corporate incentive groups use Union Limousine Sprinter vans and coaches to move 10 to 56 passengers from the WYS curb to lodging in a single lift, with luggage trailers available for large parties.

Our Fleet for Yellowstone (WYS) Airport Limo Service

Every vehicle in the fleet is maintained for mountain driving, with all season tires, high clearance where needed, and ample cargo space for outdoor gear. Capacity figures below count passengers and assume standard luggage.

Sedans: Up to 3 Passengers

Executive sedans suit solo business travelers, couples, and small families with carry on bags. Typical use: a direct WYS to West Yellowstone hotel transfer, or a quick ride to a fly shop on Canyon Street before heading into the park.

SUVs: Up to 6 Passengers

Full size SUVs carry up to six with room for suitcases, strollers, and a cooler. They are the most requested vehicle for park bound families and for Big Sky transfers where rain or early snow can arrive without warning.

Stretch Limousines: Up to 20 Passengers

Stretch limousines are reserved for wedding parties, anniversary trips, and milestone celebrations that start the moment the plane lands. Leather seating, mood lighting, and privacy glass make the ride to a Hebgen Lake venue part of the event.

Sprinter Vans: Up to 14 Passengers

High roof Sprinter vans fit 14 passengers with rear luggage racks, which makes them ideal for fishing groups with rod cases, photography workshops, and extended families splitting one cabin rental.

Party Buses: Up to 30 Passengers

Party buses handle bachelor and bachelorette weekends, rodeo nights, and reunion groups heading to West Yellowstone restaurants and breweries. Perimeter seating, sound systems, and coolers are standard.

Mini Charter Buses: Up to 35 Passengers

Mini coaches move corporate retreat groups, youth camps, and church tours from the airport to lodges in one trip, with underfloor luggage bays and forward facing seats for the two hour run to Bozeman.

Full Size Charter Buses: Up to 56 Passengers

Full size motorcoaches with restrooms, reclining seats, and large luggage compartments serve tour companies, university field programs, and convention groups that combine a WYS arrival with a multiday Yellowstone loop.

Airport Information: Yellowstone (WYS) Airport

Yellowstone Airport, 721 Airport Rd, West Yellowstone, MT 59758, is a public use airport owned and operated by the Montana Department of Transportation Aeronautics Division. The airport office can be reached at +1 406 646 7631. It is one of the few airports in the country that operates on a seasonal basis, opening for scheduled airline flights in late spring and closing after the fall shoulder season.

Brief History and Importance of the Airport

Air service to this corner of Montana dates to the early 1930s, when a federal relief program funded a landing field near town and an airway beacon lit up in 1935. Western Airlines flew DC3 aircraft into West Yellowstone in the late 1930s on a route linking Los Angeles and Great Falls. The present airport opened in 1965 on a new site north of town, and the original beacon was moved there the same year. SkyWest has flown the Salt Lake City route since the 1986 season, upgraded it to regional jets in June 2015, and added nonstop Denver flights in 2021. The Town of West Yellowstone was incorporated in 1966 and now welcomes over four million visitors a year, nearly all of them bound for the park, which makes this small airfield a key piece of the region's tourism economy.

The field also hosts the West Yellowstone Interagency Fire Center, a smokejumper base and air tanker facility that supports wildland firefighting across the greater Yellowstone area. Scenic flight operators and an air ambulance helicopter share the ramp.

Airlines Operating From WYS

Two carriers serve the airport, both operated by SkyWest Airlines with Canadair regional jets:

  • Delta Connection, flying nonstop to Salt Lake City International Airport (SLC) with daily summer service.
  • United Express, flying nonstop to Denver International Airport (DEN), typically once daily with added frequencies on peak weekends.

Scheduled airline service here has historically been supported by a federal rural air service program, and both routes operate only during the summer and early fall season.

Domestic Destinations

Salt Lake City and Denver are the only nonstop destinations. From SLC, Delta connects to the West Coast, Texas, the Midwest, and the East Coast within a single bank. From DEN, United connects to its full domestic network. Between August 2024 and July 2025, about 6,830 passengers flew the Salt Lake City route and about 3,920 flew to Denver.

Terminal Information

A new $46 million terminal opened in 2025 after construction that began in 2022, replacing the original 1965 building. The new facility has two gates, an indoor baggage claim in place of the old curbside carousel, and a screening checkpoint built to current TSA standards. Three pieces of the old terminal were preserved inside: a red stone wall behind the ticket counter, the 1935 airway beacon near the gates, and the original Yellowstone Airport sign. A bistro serves casual food, and Avis and Budget rental counters sit in the main hall.

Passenger Traffic

Yellowstone Airport sees roughly 20,000 travelers a year, with FAA records showing about 8,200 enplanements in 2019 and higher counts since the Denver route launched. Volume is concentrated between June and September, when a single 50 seat jet can carry most of a day's arrivals.

Parking Overview

The airport lot sits a short walk from the terminal doors and handles both short visits and multiday stays. Rates and overnight rules can change from season to season, so confirm current terms with the airport office before leaving a vehicle for a long trip. Because the airport closes for the winter, vehicles cannot be stored on site between seasons.

Pickup and Drop Off Guidance

The curb lane in front of the terminal is used for active loading only. Drivers meeting passengers should wait in the lot until the flight lands, then pull forward. For departures, allow 60 minutes before a scheduled flight, since the single checkpoint can back up when both airlines board close together. Our chauffeurs handle all of this timing and park in the lot while they wait inside for you.

Ground Transportation Options

West Yellowstone has no public bus from the airport, and taxi availability is limited to a few local operators. Rental cars are available at the terminal and in town, though inventory sells out on summer weekends. The chamber of commerce keeps a current list of shuttles and rental agencies on its West Yellowstone transportation page. A prebooked chauffeur is the only option that guarantees a vehicle at the curb at the exact moment your flight arrives.

Tips for Arriving Passengers

  • The airport sits above 6,600 feet. Drink water on the flight and go easy the first afternoon if you are coming from sea level.
  • Afternoon thunderstorms and summer wildfire smoke can delay or divert flights. Keep your chauffeur's number handy and we will adjust pickup times at no charge.
  • Book park lodging and timed entry items well ahead, and check the regional Yellowstone Country travel guide for road conditions on US 191 and the Gallatin Canyon.
  • Allow time in town before entering the park. The Grizzly and Wolf Discovery Center on South Canyon Street is open daily and makes a good first stop for families.
  • Pack layers. Mornings in West Yellowstone can be near freezing even in July, and the town holds the December record low for the lower 48 states.
  • Cell coverage drops inside the park. Confirm your departure pickup time before you drive in, and we will text a confirmation the evening before.

Why a Prebooked Chauffeur Beats Taxis and Rideshare at WYS?

Rideshare apps often show no cars at all in West Yellowstone, and the handful of local taxis are busy with hotel runs when a jet lands. A reserved chauffeur is tracking your flight before you leave Denver or Salt Lake City, is at the terminal when the aircraft blocks in, and is contracted at a fixed rate that does not rise with demand. For a 90 mile trip to Bozeman or a late evening arrival, that certainty is worth every dollar of the small difference in cost.

Seasonal Schedule at a Glance

Commercial flights operate roughly from mid May through early October, with the exact first and last dates published by Delta and United each year. Outside that window, the nearest scheduled service is Bozeman Yellowstone International Airport, about 90 minutes north, or Idaho Falls Regional Airport, about two hours southwest.

Connecting Through Salt Lake City and Denver

Most WYS passengers connect through one of the two hubs on the same day. We recommend a connection window of at least 90 minutes at SLC and two hours at DEN, since the inbound regional jet is the only aircraft on the route and delays carry through the whole day.

How Booking a WYS Airport Limo Works?

Send us your flight number, party size, luggage count, and destination address. We confirm the vehicle and a flat rate in writing, assign a chauffeur, and send driver details the day before travel. On arrival day, we track the inbound aircraft from its departure hub and adjust the pickup automatically. Payment is settled on a card at booking, with gratuity optional and no hidden airport fees.

Summer dates at WYS sell out, and Union Limousine recommends reserving at least two weeks ahead for July and August arrivals, and a month ahead for groups of ten or more who need Sprinter vans or coaches.
