Kearney Regional (EAR) Airport Limo Service

Stretch Limo Service to and from Kearney Regional (EAR) Airport

Kearney Regional Airport sits five miles northeast of downtown Kearney off U.S. Highway 30, and every United Express jet that rolls up to its single terminal carries travelers who still need a comfortable ride to a hotel on 2nd Avenue, a meeting at the Younes Conference Center, or a farm office two counties away. Union Limousine answers that need with a Nebraska airport limo service built around the EAR flight board. We follow your inbound flight from Denver or Chicago, position a licensed chauffeur at the terminal before the CRJ200 reaches the gate, and move you across Buffalo County and the wider Tri Cities region in a late model sedan, SUV, Sprinter van, stretch limousine, or coach.

Why Kearney Travelers Prebook a Limo at EAR?

EAR is a one terminal airport with a short list of daily departures, so there is no line of cabs idling outside baggage claim and no promise that a rideshare driver is within twenty minutes of Airport Road when a late Chicago arrival pulls in. Travelers who reserve with us never discover that gap. Your chauffeur confirms the booking the day before, watches the United Express flight number, and is standing with your name displayed by the time you clear the baggage carousel. The ride itself is quiet, climate controlled, and priced in advance, with no surge multiplier when a delayed jet sends everyone out the door at once.

  • Flight tracking on every EAR arrival from Denver International and Chicago O'Hare, with wait time adjusted automatically when a jet runs early or late
  • Licensed, background checked chauffeurs who know the Kearney street grid, the Interstate 80 interchanges, and the county roads linking Buffalo, Kearney, Phelps, Dawson, and Hall counties
  • Flat, all inclusive quotes covering fuel, tolls, and gratuity so the figure you see at booking is the figure you pay
  • Child seats, extra luggage capacity, and wheelchair accessible vehicles on request
  • Around the clock dispatch for red eye connections, charter arrivals, and the early morning Denver departure
  • One account that can handle a single sedan transfer or a season long contract for recruiters, auditors, and visiting executives

Our Fleet for Kearney Regional Airport Transfers

Union Limousine keeps a mixed fleet so the vehicle matches the group, the luggage, and the occasion. Every unit is detailed before dispatch, inspected on a fixed maintenance schedule, and insured well above Nebraska minimums. Tell us how many people are flying in, how many bags are coming off the carousel, and where the day ends, and we assign the right vehicle.

Vehicle Options and Passenger Capacity

  • Sedans (up to 3 passengers): executive transfers from EAR to Kearney hotels, the Buffalo County Courthouse, or Kearney Regional Medical Center; ideal for a single traveler or a couple with carry ons
  • SUVs (up to 6 passengers): families with strollers and checked bags, small sales teams, and winter arrivals who want all wheel drive on icy stretches of Highway 30
  • Stretch Limousines (up to 20 passengers): wedding parties arriving for a ceremony at a Platte Valley venue, milestone birthdays, and prom night pickups timed around a Denver flight
  • Sprinter vans (up to 14 passengers): crane season tour groups, UNK visiting delegations, and corporate retreats heading to a lodge along the Platte River
  • Party buses (up to 30 passengers): bachelor and bachelorette weekends, reunion groups, and concert runs to the Viaero Center with room to stand up and mingle
  • Mini charter buses (up to 35 passengers): church groups, conference attendees shuttling between EAR and the Younes Conference Center, and school bands with instrument cases
  • Full size charter buses (up to 56 passengers): athletic teams, trade delegations, and multi day tours covering Kearney, Grand Island, Hastings, and North Platte in one booking

Matching the Vehicle to Your EAR Itinerary

A pair of consultants arriving on the 50 seat jet from Denver usually wants a sedan and a direct run to the hotel. A photography club chasing sandhill cranes in March needs a Sprinter van with space for tripods and a chauffeur who can wait at a river blind before sunrise. A college tournament arriving on the Chicago flight may fill a full size coach. We quote each scenario separately, and if your headcount changes after booking, we swap the vehicle without a penalty as long as we have 24 hours of notice.

Airport Information: Kearney Regional (EAR) Airport

Kearney Regional Airport (IATA code EAR, ICAO code KEAR) is located at 5145 Airport Rd, Kearney, NE 68847, United States, and the airport office answers at +1 308 234 2318. The field is owned and operated by the City of Kearney and serves the central Nebraska counties along Interstate 80 between Grand Island and North Platte. It is the only airport in the region with United branded jet service to both Denver and Chicago.

Brief History and Importance of EAR

The ground beneath the runways was Kearney Army Air Field, built in 1941 and 1942 and used through 1949 as a staging and processing base for heavy bomber crews heading overseas. After the Air Force released the site, the City of Kearney turned it into a municipal airport, and the facility was later renamed Kearney Regional to reflect the five county catchment it serves today. The airport covers about 2,500 acres at an elevation of 2,131 feet, with a 7,094 foot concrete main runway (18/36) equipped with an ILS approach and a 4,498 foot crosswind runway (13/31). Roughly 35 aircraft are based on the field, and the city estimates around 30,000 annual operations across corporate, training, agricultural, and recreational flying. For employers recruiting into Kearney, for UNK, and for the hospitals and manufacturers along the Platte, the jet service at EAR is a selling point that keeps executives off the three hour drive to Omaha.

Airlines Operating From EAR

SkyWest Airlines flies all scheduled passenger service at Kearney under the United Express brand. The U.S. Department of Transportation selected SkyWest in August 2024 under the federal EAS program, and the three year contract began on November 1, 2024 with 12 nonstop round trips per week to Denver on 50 seat CRJ200 regional jets. SkyWest had served Kearney from September 2018 until 2022, when a pilot shortage led the airline to withdraw from 29 subsidized communities; Denver Air Connection bridged the gap from November 2022 through October 2024 with Embraer 145 jets. Because the flights carry United codes, passengers can book through connections, check bags to a final destination, and earn MileagePlus credit from Kearney. On the cargo side, FedEx Feeder flights operated by Baron Aviation and Suburban Air Freight connect EAR with Omaha.

Domestic Destinations From Kearney

Two nonstop routes operate from EAR. Denver International Airport is served once or twice daily, a flight of about one hour and fifteen minutes that opens United's western hub for connections to the West Coast, Texas, and international gateways. Chicago O'Hare returned on April 30, 2026 after the Kearney City Council approved a new air service agreement with SkyWest in November 2025; the daily round trip departs Kearney in the mid afternoon on a CRJ200 and is contracted through October 31, 2027. Chicago service had originally launched in December 2019 and was suspended in 2022, so its return restores eastbound connections to the Midwest, the Northeast, and Europe without a backtrack through Denver. Flight time to O'Hare is a little over two hours.

Terminal Information

EAR operates one passenger terminal, and the walk from the entrance to the gate takes under two minutes. The City of Kearney cut the ribbon on an expanded and renovated building on November 1, 2023, funded in part by a $6.28 million Federal Aviation Administration grant and built under a $4.77 million construction contract. The project added about 4,325 square feet, bringing the terminal to roughly 11,000 square feet, with additional passenger seating, a larger TSA screening area, a new baggage carousel, and extra family restrooms. Travelers will find free wireless internet, restrooms both before and after security, a United Express ticket counter, and a Thrifty rental counter. There is no sit down restaurant, so eat in town before an afternoon departure.

Passenger Traffic

Boardings at Kearney rise and fall with the airline contract. Enplanements jumped from 4,470 in 2018 to 21,250 in 2019 once United Express jets arrived, then hit an all time annual record of 25,251 in 2021 while both Denver and Chicago were flying. The SkyWest withdrawal pulled totals back to 21,934 in 2022, 14,006 in 2023, and 14,077 in 2024. The return of United branded service shows immediately in the 2025 figures published by the City of Kearney: January 2025 recorded 1,977 boardings against 835 a year earlier, and February recorded 1,716 against 985. Monthly records include 2,953 passengers in December 2019, 2,617 in October 2021, and 2,435 in March 2022, a month that overlaps the peak of crane migration season.

Parking Overview

Parking at Kearney Regional Airport is free. The surface lot sits directly in front of the terminal with no gates, tickets, or daily fees, and the walk to the entrance is a few dozen steps. There are no separate short term and long term rate tiers because nothing is charged. In winter the lot is plowed, but vehicles left for a week can still be buried after a Platte Valley snowstorm, which is one reason frequent flyers prefer a chauffeur drop off over leaving a car on site. Accessible stalls are marked near the entrance.

Pick Up and Drop Off Guidance

Private vehicles drop passengers at the curb in front of the terminal doors, reached by turning onto Airport Road from U.S. Highway 30 on the northeast side of Kearney. For departures on the 50 seat jets, arrive 60 to 90 minutes before the scheduled time; TSA screening is quick, but the counter closes ahead of boarding and there is only one flight to miss. On arrival, your chauffeur waits inside the terminal near the baggage carousel holding a sign with your name, then walks you to the vehicle parked in the free lot a short distance from the doors. We never ask arriving guests to call us from the curb or to find a car in a remote lot.

Ground Transportation Options at EAR

Options at Kearney Regional Airport are thin. Thrifty is the only rental counter in the terminal, and its desk hours are tied to flight times: roughly 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on weekdays with a late evening window from 10:30 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday and Sunday, and a single afternoon hour on Saturday and Sunday. Enterprise rents from a storefront on 2nd Avenue in town. Catch a Ride Taxi serves Kearney by phone, and RYDE Transit, run by the Community Action Partnership of Mid Nebraska, offers low cost demand response rides across Buffalo and six neighboring counties, but trips must be booked at least 24 hours ahead and dispatch runs on weekday office hours. Burlington Trailways stops near the Interstate 80 hotels, and the nearest Amtrak station is in Holdrege, about 30 miles south. Uber and Lyft coverage in Kearney is sparse and unreliable at the airport, especially for late arrivals.

Tips for Arriving Passengers

  • Kearney keeps Central Time, so an afternoon departure from Denver gains an hour on arrival; set meeting times accordingly
  • Winter travelers should allow extra time on Interstate 80, which closes during blizzards; your chauffeur monitors Nebraska 511 and reroutes along Highway 30 when needed
  • The Kearney Welcome Center at 220 11th Ave stocks maps and event schedules, and the Kearney Visitors Bureau publishes a transportation guide that lists local providers
  • Sandhill crane viewing runs from late February through early April; blinds at Rowe Sanctuary and Fort Kearny sell out, so reserve both the tour and your ride early
  • Visitors headed to the University of Nebraska at Kearney can schedule a campus visit on weekday mornings and afternoons; the campus is at 2504 9th Ave, about ten minutes from EAR
  • Cell coverage is strong across Buffalo County, so share your flight number when booking and we will text you the chauffeur's name and vehicle before you taxi in

Why a Prebooked Chauffeur Beats Taxis and Rideshare at EAR?

At a large hub, a taxi line absorbs whatever a flight unloads. At Kearney, a cab has to be called, a rideshare driver may be across town or offline, and the rental counter may have closed an hour before the Chicago jet arrived. A prebooked chauffeur removes every one of those variables. The vehicle is committed to you before the flight departs, the fare is fixed regardless of delay, the driver already knows the hotel or the plant you are headed to, and the car is sized for your luggage. For groups, a single Sprinter van or coach replaces a scramble for three or four rides. For executives, the ride doubles as a quiet place to take a call. For families arriving with car seats and two toddlers, it means someone else handles the bags.

Where We Take You From Kearney Regional Airport?

Kearney and Buffalo County

Most EAR transfers end within fifteen minutes of the terminal: hotels along 2nd Avenue and near the Interstate 80 interchange, the Younes Conference Center campus, Kearney Regional Medical Center, CHI Health Good Samaritan, the Museum of Nebraska Art, the Kearney Archway spanning Interstate 80, and residential addresses from Gibbon to Elm Creek. Our Nebraska limo service also covers Ravenna, Shelton, Amherst, and the rural routes north toward Pleasanton where rideshare simply does not go.

Grand Island, Hastings, and the Tri Cities

The Tri Cities of Kearney, Grand Island, and Hastings share workforces, hospitals, and event calendars. We run EAR passengers east to Grand Island for the Nebraska State Fair, Fonner Park, and the Central Nebraska Regional Airport when a connection is split between fields, then southeast to Hastings for the Hastings Museum, Hastings College, and manufacturers along Highway 281. A Nebraska car service booking covers the 45 minute drive to Grand Island or the hour to Hastings at a flat rate.

Lexington, Holdrege, Minden, and the Platte Valley

West and south of Kearney, we serve Lexington and the Dawson County feedlots and plants, Cozad and Gothenburg along the Union Pacific main line, Holdrege and its Amtrak stop, Minden and the Harold Warp Pioneer Village, and the Phelps County farms that bring agronomists and equipment reps through EAR all season. Larger parties headed to a hunting lodge or a river retreat ride in our Nebraska airport Sprinter van service, which carries 14 with gear and keeps the group on one schedule.

Kearney Limo Services Built Around Your Trip

Corporate and Executive Travel

Recruiters, auditors, bankers, and equipment manufacturers use EAR to reach Kearney in a morning and leave the same evening. We hold a sedan or SUV for the full day, wait between plant visits, and get you back to the terminal ahead of the afternoon Chicago departure or the evening Denver flight. Corporate accounts receive consolidated monthly invoicing and a dedicated dispatcher who knows your travelers by name.

Sandhill Crane Season and Group Tours

Each spring, over half a million sandhill cranes gather on the Platte River between Kearney and Grand Island, and birders from around the world fly into EAR to see them. Union Limousine runs Sprinter vans and mini coaches from the airport to the viewing blinds, the Archway, and the river bridges at dawn and dusk, with heated vehicles waiting while your group watches the roost. We also coordinate with lodges and tour operators so pickups align with blind reservations.

Weddings, Proms, and Celebrations

Out of town guests arriving at Kearney Regional for a wedding ride together in a stretch limousine or party bus, which keeps the bridal party on schedule and the parents relaxed. Prom groups, anniversary dinners, and milestone birthdays get the same chauffeur, the same clean vehicle, and the same flat pricing we quote for airport runs.

UNK Events and Youth Sports

Loper athletics, campus recruiting weekends, and regional tournaments bring teams and families through EAR throughout the academic year. Mini and full size charter buses carry an entire roster with equipment from the terminal to the field house, the hotel, and back, while sedans handle visiting speakers and university guests.

Medical and Senior Travel

Patients flying in for care at Kearney Regional Medical Center or CHI Health Good Samaritan, and families bringing an elderly relative home for the holidays, benefit from a chauffeur who meets them at the carousel, handles bags, and drives at an easy pace. We note mobility needs at booking and dispatch a vehicle with a low step in and room for a walker or folded wheelchair.

For a sedan or SUV, 24 hours of notice is enough most of the year. During sandhill crane season from late February through early April, and around UNK commencement and tournament weekends, we recommend booking a week or more ahead because Sprinter vans and coaches fill quickly.

Your chauffeur waits inside the terminal beside the baggage carousel holding a sign with your name. The vehicle is parked in the free lot a short walk from the doors, and the chauffeur handles your bags from the carousel to the trunk.

Yes. Dispatch follows every inbound Denver and Chicago flight by flight number. If the CRJ200 is held for weather or a late crew, your pickup time shifts automatically and you pay the quoted fare with no waiting charge.

The airport is about five miles from downtown, so a sedan transfer is one of the shortest runs we operate and is quoted as a flat rate that includes fuel, gratuity, and chauffeur time. SUVs, Sprinter vans, and stretch limousines carry higher flat rates based on capacity. Request a quote with your date and vehicle type for an exact figure.

Yes. Grand Island is about 45 minutes east on Interstate 80 and Hastings about an hour southeast, and both are priced as flat rates. We also run to Lexington, Holdrege, Minden, North Platte, and beyond on request.

No. Airport pickups include built in waiting time tied to the actual arrival, so a delayed O'Hare flight does not add to your fare. The only time waiting charges apply is when a passenger chooses to delay departure after the chauffeur is already on site.

A 14 passenger Sprinter van is the right fit for ten travelers with checked bags, with room left over for golf clubs, camera gear, or team equipment. For twelve or more with heavy luggage, we suggest a mini charter bus with underfloor storage.

Yes. Our heated Sprinter vans and mini coaches shuttle birding groups from the airport to Rowe Sanctuary, Fort Kearny, and the Platte River bridges before dawn and at dusk, then wait while your group is in the blind.

Yes. When a connection breaks or a group needs a flight that Kearney does not serve, we drive to Lincoln Airport in about two hours and to Eppley Airfield in Omaha in about three. These long transfers are quoted as flat rates and can include a return pickup.

Yes. Infant, convertible, and booster seats are available at no extra charge when requested at booking. Tell us the ages of the children and we will install the seats before the chauffeur leaves for the airport.
