What we offer

Central Nebraska Regional (GRI) Airport Limo Service

Executives visiting Case IH, JBS, and Hornady rely on our Central Nebraska Regional (GRI) Airport Limo Service for DFW and Mesa flights, with meet and greet in the terminal and private cars statewide.

Stretch Limo Service to and from Central Nebraska Regional (GRI) Airport

Flights into Grand Island arrive on a tight schedule, and a chauffeur who is already parked on Sky Park Road removes the only uncertain part of the trip. Our Central Nebraska Regional (GRI) Airport Limo Service pairs a tracked arrival with a professional driver, a clean late model vehicle, and a flat quote agreed before the wheels turn. Union Limousine has served travelers since 1997, and the same standard that works at the busiest hubs in the country now applies to every pickup at GRI. As part of our wider Nebraska airport limo service, this page covers transfers to and from the Grand Island terminal for executives, families, wedding parties, sports teams and tour groups across Nebraska, NE.

GRI sits three miles northeast of downtown Grand Island in Hall County, which puts the terminal about ten minutes from the Railside district, fifteen minutes from Fonner Park, and under an hour from Kearney and Hastings. Two airlines serve the field: American Eagle flights operated by SkyWest run twice daily to Dallas/Fort Worth, and Allegiant Air flies to Las Vegas and Phoenix Mesa Gateway. The airport closed 2025 with 75,920 boardings, its busiest year on record, so demand for reliable ground transportation has never been stronger. We meet that demand with chauffeurs who know the Interstate 80 interchanges at Exits 312 and 314, the US Highway 281 corridor, and the back roads that matter when harvest traffic slows the main routes.

Why Book a Chauffeur for Central Nebraska Regional Airport?

A regional airport with two daily DFW rotations and a handful of Allegiant departures leaves very little margin for a missed ride. Taxis in Grand Island are limited, rideshare coverage thins out after dark, and the free airport lots fill quickly during the Nebraska State Fair and Husker Harvest Days. Reserving a chauffeur ahead of time locks in a vehicle, a driver and a price.

Flight Tracked Arrivals on Sky Park Road

Every GRI reservation is linked to the inbound flight number. When the SkyWest CRJ900 from Dallas pushes back late or the Allegiant A319 from Las Vegas arrives early, the chauffeur adjusts without a phone call from you. Drivers wait in the designated pickup zone in front of the passenger terminal, and for meet and greet bookings they stand inside the baggage claim area holding a name sign. Luggage goes straight into the vehicle while you settle into the back seat.

One Price for the Whole Ride

Quotes for GRI transfers are quoted flat and in advance. The number covers the chauffeur, fuel, tolls where they apply, and standard waiting time tied to the flight. There is no surge pricing on a Friday evening during fair season and no meter running while the driver loads bags. Corporate accounts receive consolidated monthly billing with trip level detail for expense reporting.

Where We Drive from GRI Across Nebraska?

Grand Island is the center of the state in a very literal sense, and the airport serves a catchment that stretches from the Platte River valley to the Sandhills. Our chauffeurs cover every destination below and many beyond, with point to point pricing shown before you confirm.

Grand Island, Hall County and the Tri Cities

Most transfers stay close to home. We run to hotels along South Locust Street and Diers Avenue, offices near the Conestoga Mall, the Hall County Courthouse, CHI Health St. Francis, Grand Island Regional Medical Center and Central Community College. Kearney, home to the University of Nebraska at Kearney and the Archway over Interstate 80, is a 45 minute drive west. Hastings, with Hastings College and the Amtrak station on the California Zephyr route, is about 25 minutes south on US Highway 281 and US Highway 34.

Omaha, Lincoln and Longer Transfers

Travelers who connect through Eppley Airfield in Omaha or Lincoln Airport sometimes prefer to fly out of GRI and ride the last leg by car. We provide one way and round trip service to Omaha (about 150 miles east), Lincoln (about 95 miles), Columbus, York, North Platte and the Nebraska panhandle. The same team that runs this page also handles statewide Nebraska limo service for weddings, conferences and private tours, so a long transfer can be combined with a full day of chauffeur time.

Events and Venues Around Grand Island

Fonner Park hosts the Nebraska State Fair from late August into early September, live horse racing in the spring, the Grand Island Casino Resort, and the Heartland Events Center next door. Husker Harvest Days draws farm equipment buyers from across the Midwest each September. Sandhill crane season brings tens of thousands of visitors to the Platte River between late February and early April, with viewing blinds at the Crane Trust near Wood River and Rowe Sanctuary near Gibbon. For large groups attending any of these, our Nebraska charter bus service moves everyone from the GRI curb to the venue in one vehicle.

Our Fleet for GRI Airport Transfers

Vehicle choice depends on headcount, luggage and the occasion. Every option below is detailed, inspected and driven by a licensed, background checked chauffeur.

Vehicle Options and Capacity

  • Sedans (up to 3 passengers): Executive sedans for solo business travelers and couples flying American Eagle to Dallas. Ideal for quick hotel transfers, dinner reservations downtown and early morning departures.
  • SUVs (up to 6 passengers): Full size SUVs with cargo room for golf bags, hunting gear and crane season camera equipment. The right fit for small families and sales teams with sample cases.

  • Sprinter Vans (up to 14 passengers): Executive Sprinter vans with high roofs, leather seating and luggage bays. Popular with corporate groups visiting Case IH, JBS and Hornady, and with extended families heading to Kearney.
  • Party Buses (up to 30 passengers): Open floor plans, premium sound and LED lighting for bachelor and bachelorette weekends, brewery crawls through the Railside district, and casino nights.
  • Mini Charter Buses (up to 35 passengers): Coach style seating with overhead storage for sports teams, church groups and conference delegations arriving on the same Allegiant flight.
  • Full Size Charter Buses (up to 56 passengers): Restroom equipped motorcoaches for Husker Harvest Days delegations, agricultural tours, school trips and statewide group travel beginning at GRI.

Who Rides With Us at GRI?

Grand Island is a working city, and the mix of passengers at the terminal reflects that. Our dispatch team builds each reservation around the traveler, with no generic template applied.

Corporate and Agricultural Business Travel

Manufacturers and processors in Grand Island, Hastings and Kearney fly guests through DFW every week. Executives from Case IH, JBS, Hornady and Chief Industries, along with visiting buyers for the livestock shows at Fonner Park, expect a sedan or SUV waiting when the jet bridge connects. Our Nebraska airport chauffeur service includes meet and greet at baggage claim, WiFi equipped vehicles, and chauffeurs who keep conversation to a minimum when a call is in progress.

Families, Weddings and Group Trips

Leisure traffic at GRI leans toward Allegiant passengers returning from Las Vegas and Mesa, grandparents flying in for graduations at Grand Island Senior High and UNK, and wedding guests headed to venues along the Platte. Child seats are available on request, and multi vehicle bookings for large families are coordinated so everyone leaves the curb together. Union Limousine can also arrange return trips weeks in advance so the departure day runs on the same schedule as the arrival.

Central Nebraska Regional (GRI) Airport Information

Knowing how the airport works makes any transfer easier. The section below covers the history, airlines, terminal layout, parking, pickup rules and ground transportation at GRI as of late 2026.

Brief History and Regional Importance

Flying in Grand Island began on a grass strip south of the current terminal in the late 1920s, when Boeing 247s stopped on the transcontinental airmail route. The modern airfield was dedicated as Arrasmith Field on September 27, 1937, named for Dr. W. W. Arrasmith, the physician and pilot who secured Department of Commerce, WPA and city funding for four concrete runways. The U.S. Army Air Forces took over the field in 1942 and used it to train Flying Fortress and Superfortress bomber crews bound for the Pacific. The base returned to civilian hands in 1948, the Hall County Airport Authority was formed to run it, and the name changed from Hall County Regional Airport to Central Nebraska Regional Airport in May 1985. Today the airport is the primary commercial gateway for the City of Grand Island and the surrounding counties, supporting agriculture, manufacturing and tourism across the center of the state.

Airlines Operating from GRI

Two carriers provide scheduled passenger service. American Eagle, operated by SkyWest Airlines, flies twice daily to Dallas/Fort Worth under the federal EAS program and upgraded the route to 75 seat CRJ900 jets in 2025, adding a first class cabin with 12 seats. Allegiant Air operates nonstop Airbus service to Las Vegas and Phoenix Mesa Gateway, with a third weekly Mesa flight added in December 2024 that drove record boardings through 2025. Seasonal charters to Reno and Laughlin, Nevada, round out the schedule. Trego Dugan Aviation runs the fixed base operation for private and corporate aircraft.

Domestic Destinations

Nonstop destinations from GRI are Dallas/Fort Worth (DFW), Las Vegas (LAS) and Phoenix Mesa Gateway (AZA). The DFW connection opens American's full network, so travelers can reach the East Coast, Mexico, Europe and Asia with a single change of planes. Allegiant flights to LAS and AZA run two to three times per week depending on the season. Travelers who need routes beyond these options often drive to Eppley Airfield or Lincoln Airport, and we can provide those connections as well.

Terminal Information

A new passenger terminal opened in April 2016 at a cost of roughly $20 million, replacing the older building that now houses the Airport Authority offices. The single level terminal has one TSA checkpoint, a restaurant, free WiFi, a TSA PreCheck enrollment center, a pet relief area and a jet bridge for the CRJ900 and A319 aircraft. The building opens two hours before the first departure of the day and closes 45 minutes after the last arrival, so hours vary with the schedule. The Airport Authority has announced plans to expand the terminal and add a second jet bridge as traffic grows.

Passenger Traffic

Central Nebraska Regional Airport recorded 75,920 enplanements in 2025, surpassing the previous record of 71,207 set in 2019. December 2025 was the busiest single month in the airport's history at 7,466 boardings, and nine of the twelve months in 2025 set records. The FAA counted 20,074 aircraft operations in the twelve months ending June 2022 with 37 aircraft based on the field. The Grand Island Area Economic Development Corporation and Chamber of Commerce named the airport Business of the Year in June 2025.

Parking Overview

Three lots serve the terminal. The West Lot, on the west side of Sky Park Road, charges $5 per day, and the East Lot charges $7 per day; both offer the first 90 minutes free. Covered parking costs $14 per day with full day charges applying after 10 minutes. Every seventh consecutive day is free in all lots. Parking on roadways, grass, rental car stalls or employee stalls results in towing at the owner's expense, and unattended vehicles are prohibited in front of the passenger terminal.

Pick Up and Drop Off Guidance

The curb directly in front of the terminal is reserved for active loading and unloading. Drivers may stop long enough for passengers to step out with their luggage, then must move on. For arrivals, our chauffeurs either stage in the short term lot and pull forward when you call, or meet you inside at baggage claim for meet and greet bookings. Departing passengers should plan to reach the terminal 90 minutes before an American Eagle flight and two hours before an Allegiant departure, since the single checkpoint handles a full A319 load at once.

Ground Transportation Options

Rental counters from the national brands operate inside the terminal. Local taxi companies serve the airport on request, and rideshare apps show coverage in Grand Island, though availability drops sharply late at night and during large events. No fixed route bus serves the terminal; CRANE Public Transit, the city's demand response system, requires 24 hours notice for a ride. Burlington Trailways intercity buses stop in Grand Island, OmaLink runs shuttles toward Omaha, and the nearest Amtrak station is in Hastings. A prebooked chauffeur remains the only option that guarantees a vehicle at the curb the moment you walk out.

Tips for Arriving Passengers

  • Check the inbound aircraft type. Allegiant A319 flights unload about 150 passengers at once, so baggage claim takes longer than on the 75 seat CRJ900 from Dallas.
  • Crane season runs from late February through early April. Book transfers early, since hotels and ground transportation across Hall County fill up; the Grand Island Convention and Visitors Bureau publishes viewing schedules each year.
  • Allow extra time during the Nebraska State Fair (late August to early September) and Husker Harvest Days (mid September), when traffic on US Highway 281 and Stolley Park Road backs up.
  • Cell coverage is strong at the terminal, but share your chauffeur's number with a travel companion in case your phone is still in airplane mode at the curb.
  • First time visitors with a free afternoon can ask the chauffeur to route past Stuhr Museum of the Prairie Pioneer, the 200 acre living history site at US Highways 34 and 281.
  • Winter arrivals should expect wind and ice on Sky Park Road; our vehicles carry winter tires from November through March.

Why a Prebooked Chauffeur Beats Taxis and Rideshare at GRI?

Grand Island has a small taxi fleet and a thin rideshare driver pool, which means a 10 pm Allegiant arrival can leave a full planeload competing for a few cars. A chauffeur booked through us is assigned to your flight hours in advance, tracks the aircraft, and is paid the same flat rate whether the flight is on time or delayed. The vehicle is a late model sedan, SUV or van with room for every bag, the driver has a commercial license and a clean record, and the trip is covered by commercial insurance. For business travelers the receipt arrives by email before the vehicle reaches the hotel.
