What we offer

Alexandria International (AEX) Airport Limo Service

Wedding guests, JRTC groups and casino weekenders arrive on the same flights at AEX. Alexandria International (AEX) Airport Limo Service seats up to 56 people and all their bags in one reserved coach.

Stretch Limo Service to and from Alexandria International (AEX) Airport

Alexandria International Airport sits on the grounds of the former England Air Force Base, five miles west of downtown Alexandria and within easy reach of Pineville, Fort Polk and the small towns that line Interstate 49 through the center of the state. Flights here connect Central Louisiana to Dallas, Atlanta and Houston, and the travelers who use them tend to have a schedule: a soldier reporting to the Joint Readiness Training Center, an executive heading to a plant in Rapides Parish, a family flying in for a wedding in Natchitoches. Our Louisiana airport limo service gives each of them a chauffeur who is already parked, already watching the flight, and already clear on where the day needs to go.

Union Limousine has run chauffeured transportation since 1997, and the standards we built in New York travel with us to AEX. Every reservation is a private ride in a late model vehicle with a licensed, background checked chauffeur, a confirmed price, and a dispatcher who answers the phone at any hour. This page covers the airport itself, the Central Louisiana routes we serve, the vehicles available for AEX pickups, and the questions people ask most before they book.

Why Travelers Book a Chauffeur for AEX Flights?

Central Louisiana is a region of long drives. A flight that lands at AEX at 10 PM may still have an hour of highway ahead of it before the passenger reaches Leesville, Natchitoches or Marksville, and the taxi and rideshare supply around a regional airport this size thins out quickly after dark. Our limo service removes that uncertainty. The vehicle is reserved to you, the chauffeur knows the route, and the price was set when you booked.

Flight Tracking and Door to Gate Timing

We watch every inbound flight from the moment it leaves DFW, ATL or IAH. If the aircraft arrives early, the chauffeur is already waiting at the terminal. If weather over Dallas or Atlanta pushes the arrival back by an hour, the pickup moves with it at no extra charge. For departures, we calculate pickup times from your home or hotel using the current drive time, the airport's recommended arrival window and a cushion for Red River bridge traffic between Alexandria and Pineville.

Fixed Pricing for Central Louisiana Routes

Every AEX quote is a flat figure that covers the vehicle, the chauffeur, fuel, tolls and standard waiting time at the terminal. A ride to Fort Polk costs the same on a holiday weekend as it does on a Tuesday morning. Corporate clients can set up direct billing, and private travelers receive a written confirmation that lists the price before the trip begins.

Alexandria International Airport Information

Union Limousine chauffeurs who cover AEX know the layout, the parking rules and the arrival patterns of each airline. The details below help first time visitors plan a smooth connection on the ground.

From England Air Force Base to AEX: A Brief History

The runways at AEX were laid out in 1942 for Alexandria Army Air Base, a World War II training field for bomber crews. The base was reactivated during the Korean War and renamed England Air Force Base in 1955 in honor of Lieutenant Colonel John B. England, a decorated fighter pilot. For almost four decades it hosted tactical fighter wings that deployed to Vietnam and the Gulf War. The 1991 base closure round shut the installation in December 1992, and the newly formed England Authority took over the airfield. Alexandria International Airport opened for commercial service in August 1993. Today the surrounding England Airpark spans roughly 4,000 acres of housing, commercial space, a golf course and university facilities, with the airport as its centerpiece and one of the largest economic engines in Rapides Parish.

Airlines Operating at AEX

Three mainline carriers serve Alexandria through their regional partners. American Eagle flies to Dallas Fort Worth, Delta Connection flies to Atlanta, and United Express, operated by SkyWest Airlines, resumed twice daily service to Houston Intercontinental on May 21, 2026 after a four year absence. Flights are operated with regional jets, which means boarding is quick and baggage reaches the claim area within minutes of arrival. The airport also handles a substantial volume of charter and military movements connected to Fort Polk, so the ramp is often busier than the published airline schedule suggests.

Domestic Destinations and Connections

AEX passengers reach the rest of the country through three of the busiest hubs in the South. Dallas Fort Worth opens the American network to the West Coast and Mountain states. Atlanta gives Delta passengers one stop access to nearly every major city east of the Mississippi and to Europe. Houston Intercontinental restores United's connections to Denver, Chicago, Newark, Mexico and Latin America. Travelers who need a nonstop flight to New York, Los Angeles or Washington typically drive to Baton Rouge, Lafayette or New Orleans, and we cover those airport to airport transfers as well.

Terminal Information

AEX operates a single passenger terminal with ticket counters, a TSA checkpoint, gate areas and baggage claim all on one compact footprint. The building opens at 4 AM to accommodate the early departures to Dallas and Atlanta. Curbside check in is not offered, so passengers check bags at the airline counter inside. Only ticketed passengers and authorized personnel may pass the checkpoint, though airlines can issue escort passes for travelers with disabilities or unaccompanied children. A small cafe, vending and comfortable seating cover the short wait between security and boarding. Rental car counters for Avis, Budget and National sit inside the terminal, with the vehicles parked a short walk from the door.

Passenger Traffic

AEX is classified as a nonhub primary airport and handles roughly 340,000 to 380,000 total passengers in a typical year, with scheduled airline traffic concentrated in the morning and evening banks that feed the DFW, ATL and IAH hubs. The airport reported a 1 percent increase in passengers for 2024 and recorded a four year monthly high in March 2026 ahead of the United launch. Airport level passenger figures for every commercial airport in the country are published by the Bureau of Transportation Statistics, which is a useful benchmark for anyone comparing AEX with Baton Rouge, Lafayette or Shreveport.

Parking Overview

Parking at AEX moved to a ticketless system run by Metropolis in 2026. Cameras read your license plate on entry and exit, and the charge posts to the phone number and payment method you register through the app, the Metropolis website or an on site QR code. The rate is $1 per hour with the first hour free and a $10 maximum for the first 24 hours, then $10 for each additional day, plus a small service fee of $0.99 to $1.99 on stays longer than an hour. An attendant staffs the exit lane during peak travel periods for anyone without a smartphone. Disabled veterans receive complimentary parking after verification, and active duty or retired military on official orders can seek reimbursement through the Defense Travel System. Current rates and the enrollment forms are posted on the airport's parking and transportation page.

Pick Up and Drop Off Guidance

The terminal curb at AEX is for active loading and unloading only. Vehicles may stop briefly to let a passenger out or collect one, but drivers may not wait at the curb, and unattended cars are towed at the owner's expense under an FAA security guideline. Our chauffeurs stage in the short term lot and pull to the curb once your bags are in hand, so there is no circling and no walk to a distant parking row. For departures, we drop at the terminal doors nearest your airline's counter. The airport's own frequently asked questions page spells out the curb rules, identification requirements and checkpoint procedures in detail.

Ground Transportation at AEX

Rental cars are the most common way visitors leave the airport, with Avis, Budget and National operating on site. Taxi availability is limited and usually requires a phone call ahead, since there is no walk up queue, and rideshare coverage in the Alexandria market varies by time of day. Several Alexandria and Pineville hotels run courtesy shuttles on request. There is no scheduled bus or rail connection from the terminal. A prebooked chauffeur is the one ground option that is confirmed before the plane lands, which is why business travelers, military families and event groups rely on it.

Tips for Arriving Passengers

  • Baggage claim is a short walk from the gates, so bags usually appear within ten minutes of parking at the gate.
  • Cell coverage inside the terminal is reliable, and our chauffeurs text on arrival with their name and vehicle description.
  • Alexandria sits in the Central time zone, which matters when you are coordinating with an East Coast office.
  • Summer afternoons bring heavy thunderstorms across Rapides Parish; allow extra time for the drive to Fort Polk or Natchitoches between June and September.
  • Interstate 49 is the main north and south artery; Louisiana 28 runs west toward Leesville and east toward Pineville and Marksville.
  • Keep a printed or digital copy of your reservation confirmation, which lists your chauffeur's direct contact number.

Why Travelers Prebook a Chauffeur at AEX?

Compared with hoping a taxi or rideshare driver is online when a regional jet lands, a reserved chauffeur offers certainty on every count that matters at a small airport. The vehicle is confirmed days in advance. The price is fixed, with no surge multiplier on game weekends at Rapides Parish Coliseum or during JRTC rotation changeovers. The chauffeur tracks the flight, so a two hour delay out of Atlanta does not leave you stranded at a quiet terminal at midnight. Luggage space is matched to your party, child seats are installed before pickup, and the same company handles your return trip. For a region where the nearest alternative driver may be 30 minutes away, that reliability is the whole point.

Where We Drive: AEX Service Areas Across Louisiana?

Our AEX coverage spans Rapides Parish and the parishes that surround it, with longer transfers available to every corner of the state.

Alexandria, Pineville and Rapides Parish

Downtown Alexandria is a ten minute drive east of the terminal along Louisiana 28 West. We serve the Alexandria Riverfront Center, the Hotel Bentley, the Alexandria Museum of Art and the medical campuses at Rapides Regional Medical Center and CHRISTUS St. Frances Cabrini Hospital. Across the Red River, Pineville is home to Louisiana Christian University, the Pinecrest area and the Veterans Affairs hospital complex. Our AEX car service also reaches Ball, Boyce, Woodworth, Lecompte and the England Airpark neighborhoods beside the runway.

Fort Polk and the Joint Readiness Training Center

Fort Polk, home of the Army's Joint Readiness Training Center, lies about an hour southwest of AEX near Leesville in Vernon Parish. The post generates a steady flow of travelers through Alexandria: soldiers arriving for rotations, families relocating, contractors and visiting units. We run sedans and SUVs for individual arrivals and Sprinter vans or minibuses for groups moving between the terminal, the Leesville hotels and the main gate. Chauffeurs carry identification for gate access procedures and are experienced with the LA 28 and US 171 corridor.

Kisatchie National Forest and Outdoor Destinations

Louisiana's only national forest surrounds Alexandria on several sides, with the supervisor's office in Pineville and over 604,000 acres of longleaf pine, lakes and trails. Visitors fly into AEX for hiking on the Wild Azalea Trail, camping at Kincaid Lake Recreation Area, hunting season and the riding trails of the Claiborne area. The Forest Service publishes maps and seasonal alerts for the Kisatchie National Forest, and our SUVs handle the gravel approaches to trailheads and campgrounds with room for gear.

Natchitoches, Marksville and the Wider Region

Natchitoches, the oldest permanent settlement in the Louisiana Purchase territory, is about an hour north via Interstate 49 and draws weekend visitors for its historic district, Northwestern State University events and the Christmas Festival of Lights. Marksville and the Paragon Casino Resort sit roughly 35 minutes southeast. Longer trips take guests to Lafayette, Baton Rouge, Shreveport, Monroe and Lake Charles, and the state's official visitor resources are a good starting point for planning stops along the way. We quote these routes as flat rates with no mileage surprises.

Connections to Other Louisiana Airports

When a flight schedule does not fit AEX, travelers often fly through Baton Rouge Metropolitan, Lafayette Regional, Shreveport Regional or Louis Armstrong New Orleans International and complete the journey by road. Our Louisiana airport chauffeur service covers direct transfers between any of these airports and Alexandria, Pineville or Fort Polk, with the same flight tracking and fixed pricing that apply at AEX.

Our Fleet for AEX Transfers

Every vehicle in the fleet is cleaned, inspected and stocked with bottled water before each AEX assignment.

Private Vehicles for Individuals and Small Groups

Sedans

Up to 3 passengers. The standard choice for a single executive or a couple with two checked bags. Leather seating, climate control and phone charging make the hour to Fort Polk or Natchitoches a productive one.

SUVs

Up to 6 passengers. Full size SUVs carry a family with luggage, a small project team or hunters with cases and coolers. Higher ground clearance suits the forest roads around Kisatchie and the rural approaches to Vernon Parish.

Stretch Limousines

Up to 20 passengers depending on configuration. Weddings in Natchitoches, anniversary dinners at the Hotel Bentley and casino nights in Marksville all begin with a limousine waiting outside baggage claim.

Group Vehicles for Teams and Events

Sprinter Vans

Up to 14 passengers. The workhorse for military groups, corporate site visits and extended families arriving on the same Delta flight. Tall ceilings, forward facing seats and a rear luggage bay keep everyone and everything in one vehicle.

Party Buses

Up to 30 passengers. Bachelor and bachelorette weekends, reunion groups and tailgate crowds heading to Northwestern State or LSU games ride with a sound system, mood lighting and wraparound seating.

Mini Charter Buses

Up to 35 passengers. Ideal for sports teams, church groups and conference delegations arriving on consecutive flights. Overhead storage and under floor luggage compartments handle a full set of checked bags.

Full Size Charter Buses

Up to 56 passengers. For JRTC rotation groups, plant tours and festival charters, a full coach with restroom, climate control and reclining seats carries the entire party from AEX to any destination in Louisiana.

How We Match Vehicles to Luggage?

Our reservations team asks about checked bags, golf clubs, firearms cases and equipment before recommending a vehicle. A party of four with eight suitcases needs an SUV, and we will say so before you book.

Oversized Items and Child Seats

Rear facing, forward facing and booster seats are available on request at no charge. Oversized items such as bicycles, strollers or medical equipment should be mentioned at booking so the right vehicle is assigned.

Occasions We Serve from AEX

Corporate and Business Travel

Alexandria's economy runs on healthcare, timber, manufacturing, the military and regional government, and executives who fly in for a day expect to work in the car. Our limo service in Louisiana supports corporate accounts with centralized billing, hourly chauffeur bookings for multi stop days, and quiet, connected vehicles for calls between the airport and the Procter & Gamble plant, the Cleco headquarters in Pineville or the England Airpark business park.

Weddings, Casino Weekends and Celebrations

Natchitoches plantation weddings, Alexandria riverfront receptions and Paragon Casino getaways bring guests through AEX from across the country. We coordinate guest arrivals across several flights, shuttle wedding parties between hotels and venues, and station a limousine for the couple's departure.

Group Arrivals and Team Travel

Sports teams bound for tournaments at the Johnny Downs Sports Complex, delegations attending events at the Alexandria Riverfront Center and tour groups exploring the Cane River region can combine a Louisiana airport charter bus rental with sedans for staff, all managed under one reservation and one point of contact.

Military Families and Official Travel

Fort Polk and the nearby England Airpark training facilities keep AEX busy with service members and their families. We provide receipts formatted for travel claims, honor fixed pickup times for early reporting, and treat a nervous spouse arriving with two toddlers and a dog with the same care as a general officer.

How Booking Works?

Reserve online, by phone or through your corporate travel desk by sharing your flight number, pickup address, passenger count and luggage details. Union Limousine confirms the vehicle, the chauffeur assignment and the flat price in writing, then tracks your flight on the day of travel. Your chauffeur sends a text with a name, photo and plate number before you land, meets you at baggage claim or the terminal curb, and handles the bags. Changes and cancellations follow a clear policy that is spelled out on your confirmation, and a dispatcher is available around the clock for anything that comes up.
